I did not get 10gb but I do think it’s a good upgrade for future proofing and for resale. Nothing wrong with the 5700xt either, you’ll be really happy with it! You can never go wrong with more graphics power. For the price it’s actually the best upgrade you can make. I got 1TB to match my existing machine, more of a personal decision. I based my CPU and graphics decisions based on what all the review videos said taking my workflow into consideration. I use Lightroom a lot, so RAM was important. I don’t do any 8K video work, like most people, so I figured I could get away with the 5500XT. At some level I was trying to hedge my bets on price vs performance...time will tell if I made the right decision!

I had my eyes on the iMac Pro Then this came out After a 2 month debate, I decided to go all in with the 10 core ( gonna upgrade ram later) 5700xt 16Gb graphics No gigabit 2TB ssd Trackpad and number pad no Apple mouse And Apple care Oh and I got nano glass because why not bend over backwards a little bit more for Apple since they already made me dance so much already So now I’m just wondering... Could I have just settled for the 8 core 5500xt and save almost 2.5k of upgrades? It was like an all or nothing for me. My computer from 2013 died on me it was a dual core MacBook Pro. So I might have bought with my ego here. But if I cut back and get the Apple Watch that would mean I would have to wait a bit more again. I’m just trying to figure out my life what are your thoughts ? My dad said since you want it to last and you wanna edit R5 footage 8k raw, then you don’t wanna buy something and it won’t work for the camera you need in the future So then I agreed But now I’m thinking.. damn is that really something I want Or is it just something I need I guess we don’t really need anything because I edited 4K on my MacBook Air 💻 but struggled. I think your configuration is great except for the i9. Check out some of the max tech reviews and you’ll probably be convinced the i9 isn’t worth it. I feel like the nano texture is a very personal choice, but unless your room has a lot of glare I don’t think it’s necessary. For your intended use case, you definitely want as much graphics power as you can get though.

I don’t play it, but I just gave it a spin and it seemed to run perfectly fine at max quality setting. Bit of fan usage, nothing crazy, but then again I have 100 browser tabs and a ton of other stuff going at the same time.
