I love my T-1 ❤ and keep finding new way of using it. Thanks for the video. There’s lots of tips I hadn’t tried before. Looking forward to giving them a go!
Best Torso Video for me, Thank you so much! Would be nice if you might do another one with a deeper dive in some things like random function. How to add different randoms to different functions and ho to make randoms looped into maybe 8 steps.
I just got the T1a few days ago, and this video took me from zero to around 60% confidence in using it. Thank you. I love the little sighs of surprise/delight as the T1 does something surprising. I've felt that a few times in the short time I've been using this device. I can already tell it's going to be a long friendship with this little box of magic.
Yes!! Visualizing the midi is so helpful for the voicing/range stuff especially. One other fun thing you can do is hold Pattern and change some parameters, and it will affect all tracks in the pattern - great for midi looping stuff, or a key shift etc. Such a fun sequencer. Great walkthrough mate!
Hey man, this is such a great video!!! Big thanks for that. I don't understand why it is so low on youtube search results. It's honestly the best, most detailed and well explained in a musical context. Your effort is much appreciated, especially knowing how much excited you can get with new gear and go crazy exploring possibilities. Which I LOVE INDEED!!! But you gave your best man explaining this device. Everyone else is just showing off different devices driven by it and showing how easy is to get nice results just by tweaking the knobs. You explain so well the core concept and each knob functionality, hierarchy and level of dialing values. HUGE THANKS!!!!
I’ve just bought one of these second hand. I love the look of it. I’m going to pair it with my NDLR, when that comes back from repair. The two together are going to be great.
Thank you thank you thank you. I got my T-1 when it first came out. Then version 2 came out, and it seemed that everything I knew was obsolete. I love that you take your time explaining things clearly. You take care that we can see the buttons, their colors and your hands are not in the way. Excellent job!
Just the best T1 tuto around. Seriously mate, thank you x10000 for this, this is priceless ! ❤ it answered to questions that I was wondering for ages about it like how to modify the pitch of one note only ! Believe it or not I didn’t manage to find the answer before your video. You deserve a mountain of kudos for this awesome and so clear work, really 🙏 14:20 - I think the entire planet was wondering how do to that.
You deserve something extra for making and sharing this video. It's been my main resource to get a hang of the basics of the T1 and I've returned to it many times these past few weeks. Really appreciate your efforts!🤘🙌
Repeats to self: "I do not need another sequencer. I do not need another sequencer. I do NOT need another sequencer" 🤣 who am I kidding, will prob try this out at some point, looks super fun lol
Great and succinct tutorial. Surgeon used the T-1 to sequence his gear on his latest album Crash Recoil. Worth checking out if you like that kind of thing. He's a big fan of the T-1.
amazing breakdown of such a powerhouse device - been giving this a go with my digitakt and digitone and wow every time I keep learning more - Thank you!!
I've never known a sequencer to do what I couldn't write within a few minutes, but the T1 used with delays, or something like the Microcosm, could potentially stand in as a second musician. Quickly changing chord progs on it, while I'm playing something else (melody), is literally like having another musician there. Bad ass!
It's gonna take me a couple weeks/months to really get this thing, looking forward to the end lol! I got one and I love the premise of it, but boy do I find the start difficult.
Nice step by step tutorial :) T1 is a very organic sequencer but it really shines when used with polyphonic voices. Works also very nice with modular. Thanks for taking the time to share :)
Great coverage of this. I got the T-1 a few days back to integrate with things like my Arbhar. Currently got it working with my Maschine MK3 and Ableton over sync. The challenge I'm trying to work out now, is I can get 1 bank / set of patterns to map the 16 drumpads to the T1 (over 16 channels), but the moment I switch to a different group, it fires off on both groups simultaneously. Once I've worked that out, it's going to be a match made in heaven.
amazing. thank you man, seriously. this is just what I was looking for when I first picked mine up. Cheers m8, guess i know what I’m doing this weekend… oh and big ups the glare-ups slippers techno massive ✊🏻
Excellent T-1 tutorial! Have had it since the first Kickstarter batch and love it, and still got a tip or two out of this video. Perhapes the next video on T-1 midi-CC? ;-)
What’s the functional difference between sending, say, midi on track 1 to 1, 3 and 6, vs just setting 3 different synths to receive the notes from track 1?
Yo. I've got a vermona drm1 MK4 that I'm having problems with when it comes to connecting it to the torso T1. Apparently each voice(there's 8) has a note value(kick C1, drum1 A1, drum 2 D1 etc). How do I find the relative notes on the T1? I think I need to do this when the drm1 is in learning mode. I've tried to do it without assigning notes but each time I go to set the pulses the drum voice plays for 1 pulse then that's it. Getting a bit frustrated 😢. Please help Happy new year 😊
For some reason once I copy and paste from one channel to the others using the technique you showed, all the buttons on that row are now sky blue and I can't seem to get back to the yellow/orange step sequencer function - any ideas why?
I'm asking here because: a)None of the other tutorials (including torsos) seem to cover random very well. b)Your tutorials are brilliant. c)I love your voice. Let's say that randomization applies a random "envelope" to stuff. At what level is this random envelope used? Is it the same random envelope for all tracks, all parameters but unique to that track, or is it unique for each parameter? When i change the randomness either by turning the random knob or hitting clear random does this create a new random for all tracks, all parameters, or is it unique for each parameter?
Love the video, thank you! QQ, I'm trying to use my T1 with Logic, but despite setting source and midi channels, whenever I click on a new track it only controls that. How did you work your magic, sir
great tutorial!- I am new to setting up midi devices and using Bitwig as my DAW. With the T-1 im not sure how to setup the channels to map to different instruments in bitwig are there some starter guides can recommend to me?
Just a case of setting up channels on Bitwig to respond on different MIDI channels, manual will tell how to do that. Then it’s a case of getting T1 to send to the various MIDI channels you want (and it’s mapped from channel 1-16 by default)
@@mylarmelodies thanks I got it working (at least one way) just had to click around to find where midi channels were listed in Bitwig... there may be more than 1 way to do it though.
@mylarmelodies - this is one of the best video's on the T-1 I keep coming back to this video because it is so comprehensive and well explained. Thanks again for this. the moment at 29 minutes when changing the output is really great I would love more deeper dive into what is going on with that... its not clear to me what is modulating those notes.
Wow, this is amazing. Would you choose this over the Oxi one? I'm torn between these two. Also, what are you using to create the visuals overlay of each track? Is that in the DAW?
I've tried clocking PAM's from a Digitakt before, you need a DIN converter cable if you want to use midi, otherwise, the start and reset CV signals should do.
Wonderful tour, and this doesn't even cover the MIDI FX and CV tracks available on top of the core functions you demonstrated... 😆 Such a deep, well thought-out tool.
I love my T-1 ❤ and keep finding new way of using it.
Thanks for the video. There’s lots of tips I hadn’t tried before. Looking forward to giving them a go!
That’s so wicked - thanks Tony and you’re half the reason I wanted to try this out!! 🙌
For whatever reason, the T-1 is the sequencer that has spoken to me and makes the most sense to me. Great video demo!
Best Torso Video for me, Thank you so much! Would be nice if you might do another one with a deeper dive in some things like random function. How to add different randoms to different functions and ho to make randoms looped into maybe 8 steps.
Agreed. Also how rate & cycles interact with random (per function) and how this can be used creatively.
Anyways Alex, best and most inspiring T1 tutorial out there (as everything else you touch!). Congrats! S4’s coming soon? Would be awesome 🥳
Best tutorial i've ever seen on the T-1, invaluable. Thank you.
This tutorial was an absolute beauty. Fantastic! Thank you very much.
Best tutorial for the T1 I’ve found (At least for how my brain works). Thanks!
I just got the T1a few days ago, and this video took me from zero to around 60% confidence in using it. Thank you.

That's what I've been waiting for. I hope you make a whole series out of it my Hero!
Wow! This is the best explanation of this sequencer. Thank you for doing this! 🙏🏾
Definitely one of the better T-1 tutorials, I thoroughly enjoyed it, thanks!

Phenomenal tutorial, thank you! Just received my T-1, can’t wait to get into it.
Picked one up the day this video came out, serendipitously & wicked init 😊
New to your channel and must say you have a rare gift for this stuff, mate.
Best tutorial yet on this thing, keep it up!
Great job Mylar! One of the best tutorials on the T1. the machine flies in your hands!!!
Awesome video Mylar!! :) ... just a tip for watchers, the double tap 'Ctrl' function needs to be turned 'on' using the T1 conig tool.
You deserve something extra for making and sharing this video. It's been my main resource to get a hang of the basics of the T1 and I've returned to it many times these past few weeks. Really appreciate your efforts!🤘🙌
Bless you and thank you!!! Glad it’s helping 🙌
as you well put it: pretty sick.
Got my T1, thanks for the wonderful (and fun!) tutorial! :)
Repeats to self: "I do not need another sequencer. I do not need another sequencer. I do NOT need another sequencer" 🤣 who am I kidding, will prob try this out at some point, looks super fun lol
Perfect Circuit has them in stock if you’ve got GAS pains…
I do not need another sequencer, I do not…. Ok let’s do 12 month financing and start paying next month 😂
I didn’t need but I bought anyway 🤣
Great and succinct tutorial. Surgeon used the T-1 to sequence his gear on his latest album Crash Recoil. Worth checking out if you like that kind of thing. He's a big fan of the T-1.
The best tutorial out there for real, helped me a great deal with my new T1 , thanks!
Thank you, this is a video I know I'll return to a few times and I think its the best guide on the device out there. Great work dude.
amazing breakdown of such a powerhouse device - been giving this a go with my digitakt and digitone and wow every time I keep learning more - Thank you!!
Just love the slippers in the iPhone footage at the end. This is the hedonism I came for 😂❤
Middle age has well and truly got its claws in me
Superb video - great presentation at the right pace, making something reasonably tricky very understanable - thanks!
Doing the good work here! Feels like that brain to techno interface is one step closer 😀
Great with some insights on Lenght, Quantize and Temp, Thanks!

Fantastic breakdown of this sequencer. I'm still going to read the massive manual, but this was super helpful! Thanks for this demonstration.
Thanks Mylar. That was really useful. Inspired me to buy one, and just figuring it out now.
Finally a really good tutorial on the T1. Thank you so much!
Okay, I understand the hype for T1 now. And your educational visuals are ace! 👏🏻
It's gonna take me a couple weeks/months to really get this thing, looking forward to the end lol! I got one and I love the premise of it, but boy do I find the start difficult.
Think this video has sold me on the idea of ordering one once they are back in stock.
Thanks mate, got my T1 yesterday and this tutorial is so helpful :)
Beautifully explained. This looks way more fun than the Oxi One. Think I might have to get it. Sick jam at the end!
Thanks for demystifying this little unit. Super helpful. =)
Oooh, nice one Alex. Just ordered one of these a few days ago, so guess I'll sit down with this video when I get it. 👍
Nice step by step tutorial :) T1 is a very organic sequencer but it really shines when used with polyphonic voices. Works also very nice with modular. Thanks for taking the time to share :)

Great demo. Seems ideal for anyone interested in live performance in genres like techno, certainly makes things much easier.
Dammit! Now you're forcing me to go buy another sequencer! hahaha Thanks for the vid, very in depth but also fun along the way... as usual.
well, I bought it... It's amazing. Thank you!
very very good toturial!!!💯💯💯
Thanks!
Thank you!!
Excellent! I've been struggling with mine, this has really helped.
Thank you. This has been the perfect into guide.
Super nice recording at the start. Superb
kinda tweaking tonight, but will watch this soon. thanks for putting in the work to make such a good refresher video on the t1
amazing. thank you man, seriously. this is just what I was looking for when I first picked mine up. Cheers m8, guess i know what I’m doing this weekend…
oh and big ups the glare-ups slippers techno massive ✊🏻
I've just bought one of these today so this is super useful thanks.
Ahh banging, that’s what it’s here for!! Hope it helps and do let me know how you get on
Amazing video!
Perfect. So usefull. Thank you very much. Now i feel Like a pro :)
When will the second episode be released?
Great tutorial, thanks! Such an amazing device.
I have one as kickstarter backer, but haven’t had enough time to use and explore. This tutorial is really helpful to get started 🔊
Excellent T-1 tutorial! Have had it since the first Kickstarter batch and love it, and still got a tip or two out of this video. Perhapes the next video on T-1 midi-CC? ;-)
Thanks!! May struggle to find the time but if anyone makes the spiritual add on MIDI CC (and anything else?) vid I’ll happily link it here
What’s the functional difference between sending, say, midi on track 1 to 1, 3 and 6, vs just setting 3 different synths to receive the notes from track 1?
Flexibility really, that’s all

Happy new year 😊
Needed this in my life so badly
Awesome. Not so hard looking to learn after this. Thank you!
Jesus Christ. Finally someone does it and who better to do it than you 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Killer tutorial on this beast
For some reason once I copy and paste from one channel to the others using the technique you showed, all the buttons on that row are now sky blue and I can't seem to get back to the yellow/orange step sequencer function - any ideas why?
Great tutorial, I love the T1❤
that midi visualization is brills
Thanks love, that's MIDITrail!
This is the video I’ve been waiting for…
Very tempted!
Well done. Very well done!
I'm asking here because:
a)None of the other tutorials (including torsos) seem to cover random very well.

Fantabulous, excellent tutorial.
how to make that visualization of midi notes?
The midi visualizer was very helpful.
This is SO useful, thank you very much!
Great tutorial! Thank you!
Absolutely idiot proof exposition, without being laborious. Cheers!
VERY good tutorial. I wish I’d seen it before I bought my OXI One - which I am sure is marvellous, but for me a bit overwhelming.
thank you for this!!! i needed this. for me, the manual made it look so complicated and
boring. i understand so much of it now.
You can use temp and mutes together. Works like a charm for buildups
I have one sitting here on the shelf unused ... time to get it out and rewatch this superb 👍👍👍 tutorial 😅
Poifect. Yes see if you can follow along? Hoping it all makes sense!!
Outstanding tutorial! Thank you.
Can you combine it with a midi keyboard and record notes into it? Guessing you can’t?
Best video on T1 ❤
Love the video, thank you!
QQ, I'm trying to use my T1 with Logic, but despite setting source and midi channels, whenever I click on a new track it only controls that. How did you work your magic, sir

Can you program note slides?
This and OXI One are my fav sequencers
Slightly off topic question: What's the font you are using in the video? To me, it looks dangerously close to the one used on mackie mixers.
Can you let’s say draw midi in ableton and then tweak it it t1?
Brilliant! 🙌
Regarding MIDI connectivity - can you pls help with MIDI In? I would like to send MIDI notes via MIDI in on T-1
Can you export / save the midi tracks to a DAW or would you just play the T1 and record???
Voicing is chord inversions, right?
Nice run through, thanks! Just wondering if its best to clock this to the Pams or the other way round - have tried both?
I've tried clocking PAM's from a Digitakt before, you need a DIN converter cable if you want to use midi, otherwise, the start and reset CV signals should do.
Wonderful tour, and this doesn't even cover the MIDI FX and CV tracks available on top of the core functions you demonstrated... 😆 Such a deep, well thought-out tool.
Yeah totally - someone needs to do just a MIDI CC/CV input vid!
