An anime parody created by LittleKuriboh. This is an episode of a comedy using footage from YGO featuring such characters as Yugi, Yami, Kaiba, Joey, etc.

Actually, that street mime is practically dead. It's explained in the original Japanese version and in the manga, but I believe he's lost the will to live.

This is what makes this series so much better than 99% of other parodies; it is actually so accurate you can watch it instead of the original without missing out on any relevant info.
My favorite part of this series is the constant reminder that underneath the semi-serious plot is the fact that everyone is playing a children's card game.

+DualingDude 4Kids lost the licensing rights for Yu-Gi-Oh! for, among other things, double dealing their DVD rights to Funimation for some uncensored DVD releases. They then went bankrupt before the courts could invalidate that licensing termination.
What happened during that mess of a bankruptcy unwinding is that Konami bought the US distribution rights and the 4Kids production house as a new subsidiary called 4K Acquisition, now called 4K Media; which seems fit to sell both censored versions for TV broadcast as well as uncensored versions for internet streaming sites such as Crunchyroll.
So actually this should be filed under #FuckKonami ... also somebody call Jim Sterling.
(The remains of 4Kids not sold off to Konami or Saban are now a subsidiary of some other company called 4Licensing Corporation, which owns Viva Pinata, Dinosaur King, and the American Kennel Club. Basically, a joke.)

nothing quite like rewatching the first yugioh abridged episode i ever saw. i tell you, that star trek opening confused me so much. a friend of mine in 7th grade told me about it and I've been hooked since.
My first YGOTAS anything was Kaiba's stairs diatribe in season 3 (I was a latecomer), and I get tingly whenever I watch that episode. I totally get it, man.

I guess paying 1000 life points each turn to bring back Revival Jam went out of the window during this episode. SCREW THE RULES like Kaiba.
Most of the effects from the show are different than on the actual cards, just look at the gods.
Not to mention card of safe return doesnt work like that. You draw a single card whenever something is revived from your grave.
Just gonna point out one rule they actual messed up on. If there effects where like this then it would still not work since Revival Jam when destroyed would enter Mr.Mimes Grave and then revive on his side not Yugi's that's why in this spoof Kiba gave a speech about screwing the rules since they did cus they had no idea how to actually beat the combo legally xD
coolguyruben07 This episode of the anime was made before Revival Jam, Safe Return, or Slipher were ever minted as cards. So the rulings got changed to make it less OP. At the end of the day Safe Return still ended up being ban-worthy.

There were so many things wrong with this duel it's not even on the level of cheating anymore. First of all Revival Jam does revive itself after it's destroyed, but it only does so at the end of your turn, so it doesn't come back the minute you destroy it but only when your turn is about to end. Second of all when Revival Jam does revive itself you need to pay 1000 life points for it to do so, so even if it would revive itself endlessly you could still keep destroying it and have your opponent pay 1000 life points every time he wants to bring it back. Next up is that Revival Jam only revives itself after it has been destroyed in battle, so it doesn't come back when it's destroyed due to a (monster) effect (like Slifer's second mouth). What's more this effect of Slifer shouldn't even have been triggered when Yugi took control of Revival Jam, because he didn't summon anything, he just took temporary control of a monster that was already on the field. Even if we were to ignore all these things Yugi's 'strategy' still shouldn't have worked because of two reasons: 1) Even if Revival Jam somehow actually triggered Slifer's effect by changing owners, and could come back even after being destroyed by this effect (without the payment of life points) he should've revived on Marik's side of the field, since it goes to his graveyard (since it's originally Marik's monster) and Brain Control's effect would've worn off after it was destroyed the first time, and 2) even if it didn't Marik wouldn't have to draw cards due to Card of Safe Return's effect, because Revival Jam didn't revive on his side of the field (in this case) and apparently wasn't counted as his monster for the entire turn, so its revival triggering Card of Safe Return makes no sense. During this duel they not only changed the effects of many different cards (mainly Revival Jam), but they also screwed with the game mechanics/gameplay itself to make Yugi win. I mean I know that the anime is not faithful to the actual rules of the cardgame (the Pokemon anime doesn't follow the rules/logic from the games either), so changing the effects of a card or two is fine, but actually changing the rules of the game itself just makes me wonder if the anime writers even knew how the game is played.

Ohtori Sakuya Everyone who screws the rules with having money pays for that privilege out off their screen time. Espa Roba used all his up through his massive amounts of cheating and thus was never seen again. Weevil's remaining screen time is only enough to be used as a joke character. Ishizu is likely the only one who can escape this payment due to her cheating through a millennium item, which is like a magnet that attracts all screen time to the owner. That is why she and Pegasus were able to cheat without fear of being written out and why when they lost their items they became completely irrelevant.
