I respect the guys for doing what they love. However, I don't understand The East Bay Dragons associating with hell's angels a club that was known for their racism towards black people. The Dragons were known for buying their Harley's second hand because the company didn't want to sell bikes to blacks. The Dragons should have put their money towards another motorcycle maker and not the one that rejects them.

Absolutely love this video Sose. Yes, it was a shame that times and people were like this back in the day. I was born in 1959 and my Father had be in the Airforce for 8 years, during the Korean war. He had seen alot and met alot of good people while serving. He taught me to respect all people, no matter what ethic or nationality. Alot of people stole the ideas of some amazing artist and presented it as their ideas. People say Elvis was the Father of Rock and Roll. Nah, Chuck Berry was, there are many other stories just like this. So glad this generation is finding out who were the real heroes and original artist were. Thank you Sose for bring this light.

I grew up in Oakland and the Dragons and Zodiacs have always had a lot of respect from the community. You could go to an even thrown by the Dragons and know you were safe, because they didn’t play! Souls on Bikes is a good book written by one of their founders. EBD’s, part of Bay Area history.

My panhead has had several front ends since I first built in the very early 80s but when I got my hands on a Sugar Bear springer in ‘97 and put it in the bike I’ve never looked back. Also, I’d heard of the Cali all-black clubs and you’d referenced them in an earlier video about motorcycle magazines. What I hadn’t known anything about was Bessie; what an amazing story! Going to be doing some digging of my on and really hope that someone somewhere wrote a biography of her incredible journey through life. An autobiography would be best if all! Thanks for another great video and more knowledge!

Those mixed clubs had to be very strong in those early days. They to fight the white clubs and the black club. I was bartending at the Robinhood Saloon in the mid 70’s. And three members of the Chosen Few came in one night. They were the most respectful customers that I ever served. They had some great stories to share.

Thanks for doing this video. I was a member of Chosen Few MC and there is a multitude of history that needs to be brought to light. CF Boss Mike 1%er was the unofficial historian of Chosen Few MC and his garage held many artifacts and historical items worthy of speaking on. He has left this earth, but if you reach out to current CF members, you might be able to get more history from them. I am proud of my time with them and cherish every moment. Again, I am a former member and will never speak on club business, but if you would like more history, reach out to them. Theyre all a bunch of good brothers and easily approachable. SYLCF!

When I was young HD wouldn't sell new models to Australian bikers. We could only get outgoing models at one point. So our "new" bikes were models that didn't sell so well or were being cleared out to make room for new ones in the USA. Some of the boys I rode with tried to go to the USA and buy bikes to ride around over there then import them back home when they finished their trips. Dealers would only sell them if they signed a contract saying they would sell them back to a dealer in the USA before returning home.

Nicely done. Indept. I'm a Black biker down in San Diego putting together a rigid frame 74 cone shovel as we speak. Learned about Hardy, Vauhn, Sugar Bear and the East Bay dragons about ten years ago. Love your channel.

Back when Bessie Stringfield was riding , you were lucky to exist without having to fight everywhere you go as this was the era of the Klu Klux Klan. There is always someone out there that is interested in doing something that somepeople would say is not for "your kind"

Wow just happened to run across your video and immediately subscrbed to the channel. I had a few friends back in 1971 that were members of the Chosen Few in Los Angeles. Back then the CB750 was king on the streets and I had one. A mechanic named Freddy had a shop on Manchester Blvd that helped me build a ridged frame 750. Right now I'm 69 years old and am in the process of rebuilding another CB750 chopper to celebrate those days. looking forward to more history and stories thanks for your time and commitment to his subject.

I'm a white dude and a biker. Back in the early '70s a black club by the name of the Golden Hawks I don't know if they're still active anymore. These guys sponsored a motorcycle drag race in Dallas Georgia. Myself with a buddy of mine rode our bikes down to the event. It turned out to be one of the best parties I've ever been to in My Life. We were welcome with open arms cold beers and great food. A brother is a brother ain't no color.

Much Respect For This Story Of Black MC Clubs, As A Second Gen Black Rider. I Was A Part Of The Old And New Coming Of Black Sport Bike Clubs In The Early 90's. What I Have Learned Over Time Is That The Bike You Ride Comes In Second To The Real Actual Brotherhood Of The Club!

Thanks for the history not a club member. Way back to the 60s the main club I heard of was Wheels of Soul being from Philly. As I became an adult and traveled down 95 I heard about the Thunder guards. Pretty much the clubs I see now are sport bike Clubs that had the blessing of WOS. Only come in contact because my family was President of one of the Social Clubs. So I attended event and fundraiser. Just respect I never asked many questions about the clubs.

My dad was black Harley biker the Dragons . And his white counter parts showed so much love , my could walk in and get stares, but it was the white outlaws that showed my dad respect, because he was solid with them from the job to the street.
