Yes a good local hobby shop is so cool, I am so lucky to have an amazing hobby shop to shop at, they would.lend me any tool they have, and help me with so much, that's why I buy absolutely everything from them...my buddy converted his promoto to 3S I believe he got 61 mph with stock gearing....I believe it's gonna go much faster!!!! I want both videos! Better get everything setup fast 😉 I also thought about the use for speedruns only and watched a video of a guy who drove the mx with gyro off. It works quite well especially when getting faster. So for the speedruns I would take off the gyro and install a bigger esc instead. Very hard to decide what to do not having a promoto here by myself so let’s see what happens with yours.
Definitely wanna see the ESC install. I'm not a fan of Spektrum electronics so to see somebody swap that out would be interesting...plus you're trying to make the bike faster and more powerful. I've already saved the BEC install to my YT favorites in case I decide to get one of these one day. If I got one I'd try to do the same things you're doing to make the bike better. I'd try to swap the motor out too. Both TP and Cordova make motors in that size with a lot of KV options to choose from. I'm a Castle fanboy so I'd try to see if one of their smaller ESCs would fit to match up with BEC. From the looks of things the gyro/flywheel and the remote/receiver are the only parts that can't be touched.

Amprage on the esc dose not dictate how meny cells you can run. You can run 4s on a 45amp esc. Like you said the promoto has some firmwere that wont allow it to run on anything higher then a 2s. You may be able to use the spektrum program box to change that or the buletooth module for the radio. The bluetooth module has more setting changes then the program box for the promoto.
Have you heard of getting the spectrum module that plugs into your remote you can fine-tune your steering and it helps out with all your other fine-tuning on your remote

Why not just use stock esc, its rated for 3s… and change the motor kv to match… I’m not aware of any gear options
The stock one isn’t rated for 3S I showed what happened on 3s went into fail safe for over voltage 💯
