I actually have an opposite tactic on my small property. The MORE impact I make, and the more I get them used to human scents and activity, the more success Ive been having.
When you have pristine, untouched acreage, if you so much as walk through to change sd cards in a camera, you left a threatening and unfamiliar scent everywhere. However when they are used to hearing my atv every day and smelling my wife’s cooking, I can walk right out to my blind 70 yards from my house in direct upwind conditions and it makes no difference at all. They’ll walk right past my ground blind with me in it!

If you really want to draw deer to your property plant a few apple trees. I grew up on a 120 acre apple orchard. 80 was apple trees. 25 walnut trees, 15 grass pasture. Surrounded by 3 creeks. Was amazing!!!!

Most of the time I either hunt public game lands but they run dogs for deer down here🙄 so I have another plot that is an acre total. I seldom hunt it so I don't have my scent all over the place, but there are deer there and I bait them quite a bit. Ain't had much luck yet but I'm hoping this season I'll make that small plot work for me.

@@ArcherHHS wow it’s been 4 years since this comment. Anyway field corners have been great especially with mock scrapes

Did you guys do a video on baiting? The state I hunt just legalized it. I know corn is the most popular thing, but I feel like the property I hunt will make us have to keep up with the Jones’ if we don’t want the deer to hangout at their lease.

I’m goin to be ordering some apple trees and was wondering what kind and should I get 4 early and 4 late variety’s?

Hi Phil - the best bet is to get several varieties, yes, but what's most important is to match the tree's growing zone with your area more than when they bear fruit. As long as trees are producing, you will have plenty of action near your orchards throughout the season. -Dan Schmidt

I've killed a 9.5 year old on my 10 and a good 3.5 year old and had some really Giants around it I've had better luck at big bucks on my 10 vs 1000 because I have the best of all the combo I could ask for it's big woods that's borders a stream that's large plus the funnels are by me it necks down by me all trails lead threw or close to it I have the 9.5 year old dressed out weight was 220lbs in the northern part of Wisconsin his body length alone would blow people away more then his body weight . See it's big woods with big body deer . When you see his body on cam you can see his monster block head like Canada deer. My mount need the largest whitetail size but needed a mule deer head crazy stories I was told of my buck so it's a legend in a small way so had many people stop by tell me how they been chasing him for many years kinds cool
