you could use some wire loom protector that is a size bigger then the breather tube, then cover that loom with one size up as well. Its not much, but the two layers give a bit more insulating value to that line to keep it from freezing. Love the videos btw! I feel like im right there on the trails as ya ride. Keep up the great work!
Great idea! Definitely when it warms up we don't have this issue...such a "wet" winter too, can understand how it might happen. Glad you enjoy the videos and thanks again for the suggestion!
just a thought Cubbee, but maybe when riding in the winter... you should leave a little more slack in that dipstick zip-tie... a lot cheaper and easier to clean up to let the over-pressure blow a little oil out and give you the indication that there is some freezing going on, rather than having to replace a gasket that got popped and have to do even more cleanup. As always, great video! Glad it wasn't CK who got hit on the noggin'!
For sure! There is some slack now...so the dipstick could come out a little bit...but maybe not enough? Definitely don't want to be replacing gaskets every year! My head was pretty hard and took the hook well...not sure CK would have faired so well! Thanks for watching.
I did the zip tie thing on my 07 grizz and never have had any issues in something like 4000 miles now.....I did it because way back when it kinda made a bit of a backfire pop sound once and blew the dip stick and a bit of oil out of the dip stick tube....like I said that was 4000 miles or so ago and it's never done that backfire pop thing or developed any leaks at all since....I think it is just a fluke in the case of yours even the leak it devloped just like what mine did was just a one time fluke thing....do the new gasket and zip tie the dip stick so it deosn't get lost or ever blow out oil and run it with the idea that it will most likely never happen again, that's how I looked at mine and like I say no issues for a long time now. P.S. bet you will never do that with your hook on your winch line again lol....like a buddy of mine would have said to you...just think how good it will feel when it stops hurting lol...glad you didn't scramble the few brain cells you got left too bad lol.

What a weird gasket to blow out, I haven't heard of that. And I think the Grizzly gave you a smack b/c you went and bought a Can Am haha Hope your head is better.
New gasket has arrived...will know more once I start taking the Grizzly apart. Could be the Grizzly getting revenge...LOL

Hit you in the head Cubbee? That smarts! I rolled mine in Georgia this past weekend. Thought I broke ribs. I loaded it and the travel trail up... alone. Drove five and a half hours back to Florida. Then went to the ER. Got a CT scan. Nothing broken but sore as hell still. My wife was pissed.
Sorry to hear about your rollover...scary, especially when you are by yourself..you must be one tough fella! Glad to hear nothing broken. Take care of yourself Donald!

That's a very interesting issue with the breather tube, would have never figured that one out. Just changed out my son's 2007 Grizzly stator last year and had to put on the update cover. Not a bad job as they go but do have to drain the coolant on that job.
LOL CK said my head must be pretty "hard"! It hurt, but could have been a lot worse. Didn't see it coming! We wondered if we would have to drain the coolant ....sounds like we might have to. Thanks for watching Canesser!

its a yamaha they are bullet proof , maintain them they will look after you , same goes for any thing my polaris , never let me down , maintain it change fluids and belts , keeps going ,

hi cubbee .. wow .. that is a bad luck .. you know what you should do cubbee .. i know you are very smart .. but what i m thinking is for your safety and ck too is to build a adjustable ramp 4 to 5 feet of the ground for your atv .. its better that way at least you can work under atv like changing oil or grease up anything like that .. but the way i see on this video when you hockup your winch that high .. its to dangerous .. but it was my idea to you to get a custom ramp it will be much easy for you cubbee

Funny story...in the older videos you will see Cubbee....then in a few (as he was doing the filming) you couldn't see his face...some viewers made a big deal about it, so now it is an on going joke that you never see his face. He has been nicknamed ATV STig or WILSON from the old Home Improvement show!
