    I was just given an International Cub Cadet 1250 hydrostatic a couple days ago. It is a great machine. We had to do a little work to get it running properly again, but it runs like a dream now.

    Looks really good. i just got a 75 model 1650 for my son to use. Runs great, no smoke or engine rattles besides the normal vibrations. I got a snowplow, mower deck, wheel weights and chains, brinley hitch and tiller with it for 850. Only needed a steering column and some wheel bearings and some cleaning and now its good to go...Nice work machine around the house.

    Do do restore for customers? My wife has her Father's 1250 and I'd like to get it restored for her. She not interested in mowing with it but would like to get it running and re-painted with new decals. We live in Kentucky (close to Louisville). Maybe if you don't do this or it isn't feasible for you do do this you might know someone who was nearer to me that would

    As much as you have been rebuilding those I have a question for you. These Quiet Lines as you said have the vibration issues at different rpms. Even if they are in good shape. Did Kohler change these engines from the older Cubs? Meaning did they used to have a counter balancer and the newer Quiet Line tractors do not have it anymore, and they added the rubber mounts...Thanks. i have a 77 IHCC 1650 that is 80% restored now and we use it as it was intended. Very reliable, just down to new paint and decals and it is done.

      im not aware of anything that cub cadet did for the rubber engine mounts for all the shaking. All i know is that the original rubber mounts dont shake the tractor as much as new ones.

    I have the same tractor and it almost looked as good as yours when I got it. I use it so it don't look so good anymore. Do you know where I could get a gas cap? Mine has a big crack on the top. Also, my steering is seriously sloppy. I seen a kit on ebay called IH Cub Cadet Ross steering upgrade kit. Do you know anything about this kit? I have been thinking about buying it. Thanks

    Hey chooster, How much would a cub creeper gear be worth ? Thanks

  • @everettsams349

    If I may make a suggestion maybe you could add rubber gasket or trim around the edges from an auto parts store.

    I don't suppose you could tell me how you fixed the hydro creep. I have a 129 that accelerates when I take my hand off the lever. It does not move when sitting at idle though.

    ive narrowed mine down to either a 1250 or 680 i believe. the 1250 doesnt have that sleeve hitch or lift pin you were talking about so you cant use ground engaging tools with it can you? sorry for all the questions but im freaking out

    • @zacharycoslic1274
      @zacharycoslic1274 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cole Everett the 1250 you can get a sleeve hitch for it and all the other quietlines

    have you used Majic Clear Coat ? Please let me know

    • @chooster5000
      @chooster5000  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Vortec 67 I have used the majic clear coat , I usually use it on the majic paint after it dries for 1/2 an hour , it depends on the temperature outside as well. You either need to spray the clear on when the paint is still fresh or have to wait till it's completely dry after a week or more. I have had good and bad results with the clear coat , I believe the trick is to wet sand the clear after doing many coats. It does make the paint last longer then just the color alone

    i rigged a john deer snow blade to fit my tractor and a disc cultivator!

    How did you adjust the hydro so it wouldn't creep?

    • @chooster5000
      @chooster5000  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      466htrd theres 2 bolts on the tranny that hold a bracket , you loosen the 2 bolts and tap the bracket up or down depending on what direction your creep is and it works fine kept it in neutral

    chooster I got a 1250 Cub Cadet. Motor is junk, gas is leaking somewhere but I don't know where, just fixed the carb before the engine went to junk. Got any good advice. Plus my Cub Cadet shakes no matter what.

    • @chooster5000
      @chooster5000  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      it will shake a lot if the engine mounts are bad or good , what is wrong with the engine if it just needs a rebuild there not that bad to do

    • @poisonusram4262
      @poisonusram4262 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I accidently ran it out of oil, it locked up, got it unlocked, and now it either has no compression or compression. I don't know but now it will not fire.

    • @poisonusram4262
      @poisonusram4262 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Found out what was wrong with it, broken piston rod. Shattered it., I also do have a problem with the deck, it will not go up it is stuck digging up the ground.

    • @chooster5000
      @chooster5000  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Poisonus Ram (onelonleyredneck) Well it's probably the deck linkage , there is lift links that go to the lift arms on the tractor check those out and let me know

    can u put a 3 point hitch on this one?

    • @chooster5000
      @chooster5000  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      all cub cadet garden tractors can have the 3 point hitch , if your going to put it on one with out hydraulics then you should have a spring assist

  • @TheEremite

    What does one of these sell for?

    • @chooster5000
      @chooster5000  9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Matthew Holderfield I sold this one for 800 when I was all done you might get 1000 at most id say but options help the sale, wheel weights, chains and plow would have gave it some more value snow blowers help as well depending on the area

    Looks like a repaint, not a restoration. Wrong seat, wrong color on the firewall, and you didn't overhaul the engine. Big difference between a paint job and a restoration. Looks nice..... but it is not restored.
    Hey, do you have any idea how hard it is on the PTO, the belts and the engine to rev it all the way up before engaging the PTO? You should never do that. Engage it at the lowest throttle setting that keeps it from dying. That is basic equipment operating knowledge.

    • @williamajthompson9166
      @williamajthompson9166 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Manual always says engage around 50% throttle. And run between 75-100% throttle depending on mowing condition. Then idle down to 25% or idle for a cool down so the pto brakes don't get ate up quickly.

    • @jdbrepair
      @jdbrepair 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@williamajthompson9166 Operaters manuals are no substitute for years of experience running equipment or years of experience as a heavy equipment tech. PTO should be engaged at the lowest possible RPM that doesn’t kill the motor. Cool down can be done at lowest idle setting, it has absolutely nothing to do with the PTO brake. I don't know where you read that. If the PTO is off and not spinning, the brake is holding and not slipping. If there is no implement attached to the PTO, then the brake has more to hold.... in which case it has more trouble holding at higher RPM than lower. All this is irrelevant anyway because the tractor in the video has an electric PTO, as opposed to a mechanical one like the previous models had. The mechanical PTO's were to be engaged at all times when no implement is attached.
