I feel like Deep Rock is one of those games, where the developers actively tried to keep frustrating mechanics out of the game. They could easily have given you a fade out time when down, resulting in perma death or given Molly a health bar and have you need to protect her. Things that would make hardcore players just tell you to "get good" and "it makes the game more challenging", but the team strayed away from those things, because they wanted their game to be fun, not frustrating.
Gotta respect developers who remember that the main objective of making a game is to make it FUN for its audience. Most people might scoff at the existence of the Hazard 1 and 2 difficulties and say that its pointless and removes all the challenge for any half-decent player, but it's better that they exist for people who need it (those who are playing video games for the first time, young children, or even elderly players who just want to have a relaxed foray through the caves). And if you think the low difficulties are boring then just... don't play them. The higher difficulties on the other hand exist for you. I just love how so much thought has been put into the game mechanics to make it easy-to-learn, fun, and accessible for a wide range of players (they even have a COLORBLIND MODE toggle in the options now!). GSG knows a co-op game lives and dies by its community, and they put in the work to nurture that community as much as they can.

My First Nemesis Encounter was On My First Trip into Glacial Strata, Which I Had Set to be Solo. I took 1 step out the Drop Pod, and was Promptly Grabbed, Dragged Down a Pit, and Mauled to Death. From What Little I can Remember, there was also a Prospector, Rival Turrets, & The Nemesis who Insisted on Beating me Senseless. I Aborted the Mission because there was no way in hell I was gonna deal with dat shit.
Nothing beats joining a lobby of randoms, not saying a single word aside from ready checks, yet being practically in sync throughout the mission. Rock and Stone.
The mad lads put this up FOR FREE in Feb on PS plus, grabbed it on whim and now I'm hopelessly hooked, grabbed all the cosmetic DLC's and its still cheaper than most games. Don't even need a regular squad, just party up with randos and its all good. Great community, great game, great developers.

The Deepcore can easily be a top tier weapon even without OCs as long as you get really good with aiming for weakpoints, which over time everyone gets better at.
Literally the only game i joined the official discord because its a whole new level of memage when you join a VC and hear the scout scream after he catches a C4 for the 4th time.
I remember being a Beta tester for this game. As the Beta tests were closing and the game was set to release, the devs gave us keys; of which I received 2. I didn't have any friends to play it with, so I ended up giving my keys to a couple that was a part of the Discord server who were excited for the game. I don't really regret my decision, as I still don't have friends to play it with and random people on the internet are scary, but I do miss playing the game.

I don't know what it is, but I regularly play with Internet randoms (mostly by hosting a public mission) and it's always been a good experience. Worst that's happened is that somebody will join my mission, and then a minute or two later they leave.

There was this epic moment with my buddies and I were playing and I needed to hold the line as a horde was coming. I said "go on without me" as I was on a zipline, ascending slowly towards them, firing at the horde as I was the one with most ammo left then as I approach them, I emerge from the clouds which my grenades brought upon and my friend just laughed as it was so epic the way I slowly approached them from beyond the smoke and on a zipline ascending towards them slowly
Moments like these are why this is my favorite game, plus I love all the voice lines. I point at things just to hear if they say anything and a suprizing amount of them do.
My 2nd most played game of all time. Genuinely a joy to play, and the devs are wonderful, and very attentive to what the community thinks. They made Doretta's head pop off just so we could carry it back with us. No bonus or anything, the community just felt sad that she always got left behind.
Every time i play that escort mission i always carry Dotty back to the Pod Also i never hurt lootbugs,especially the Golden Ones if i find any. I just pet them. And the best thing? Im a Driller.

@@bapabs In case you did not go there yet, magma core's hazards: All craters created by explosions cover the ground in hot rock which damages and builds up heat. Dense bunches of plants which exlode upon being damaged enough like in fungus bogs and dense biozone, to make the hot rock thing worse. Large patches of small fire geysers which periodically erupt with damage and heat buildup. Singular big lava geysers with high, wide and heavily damaging periodic eruptions, and they explode if you dig into them, with a hot rock crater, of course. Random earthquakes which apply big slowdown and then spawn fissures with steep walls covered in hot rock.
This game is a cult classic already. One of its recipes for success is how attentive and aware the devs are. They listen to the community and constantly update it and add new and interesting ways to play.
Literally the best game I've played in years. Devs clearly enjoy and love doing what they do, and care about the players, which 90% of games recently don't do. Only problem I have is no friends who play it. So glad this game exists, it's what got me away from sword game.
I can't wait till we get another Deep Rock Galactic vid when Zanny unlocks the actual unironic nuke overclock for the Engineer's PGL and he switches to being an Engineer main.
I just got into this game last week and it’s genuinely been the most fun ive had playing games with friends in a long time. From aesthetics to gameplay its just so perfect and fun.
Right after watching this I downloaded the game and I have been having so much fun! I love the art aesthetic, the beer types, and the servers! OH THE SERVERs!! This is the easiest random multiplayer connecting process I have ever found. I have nothing but high hopes for this game and sincerely hope that Zanny will download more videos playing this.
Finally! Was hoping so much to see this game on the channel. It fits really well :D To spice things up you guys can also use all sorts of mods. Like, giving Molly a Glados voice or replacing your hammers with plush hammers or have molly make the Thaddeus walking sound when she is walking etc

EDIT 7/11/22: Checked Xbox Game Pass and its currently free for game pass holders! So if you have Game Pass you can give it a go! As a note, this game is on sale on Steam for $10 until 6/23/22 $10... Dirt cheap for a stellar game. Picked it up myself and am already enjoying it solo, can't wait to get into a server when I got a grip on the controls and missions better.
I have over 270 hours in game and my highlights in public lobbies have been teaching the greenbeards how to play. Or at least guiding them in the right direction. One time two other dudes and I had to book it back to a lost Scout and bring him back to a drop pod, good times.
You all are right! I got into a server and had a good crew, honestly its such a great time having a full crew looking out for each other no matter what level the dwarves are. Honestly it just feels different than other games, where I am not worrying about being criticized too heavily. It really is something special, and of course: ROCK AND STONE!!

Been playing since early access on Xbox. A little story about my time on the DRG subreddit: I began playing DRG with my friends when I was still in high school and high school was the worst time in my life. Hormones, ADD and clinical depression are a bad mixture to say the least. I rarely post on Reddit, but I posted a thank you message to the community and devs about how the game was helping me through an awful time in my life. Some of the actual devs responded to thank me and wished me luck since high school can be difficult for many people. I'm now 22 and still love this game.

17:29 the caretaker scared the shit out of me and my friend when we saw if for the first time. And just a few nights ago, my friend had something to do so he was still in the drop pod and had full view of the nemesis sneak up behind me and grab me and drag me away from the pod. We ended up losing but my friend could bit stop laughing

I don't really regret my decision, as I still don't have friends to play it with and random people on the internet are scary, but I do miss playing the game.

@@specialschoolacc7397 To put it quite simply, America. Because queueing in other games has led to a lot of people who seem to like arguing or causing problems, especially with political people, where I've grown scared to queue in online games.
@@stryaterra I've experienced immature kids in lobbies in other games, but somehow never in DRG. I don't know what it is, but I regularly play with Internet randoms (mostly by hosting a public mission) and it's always been a good experience. Worst that's happened is that somebody will join my mission, and then a minute or two later they leave.

There was this epic moment with my buddies and I were playing and I needed to hold the line as a horde was coming. I said "go on without me" as I was on a zipline, ascending slowly towards them, firing at the horde as I was the one with most ammo left then as I approach them, I emerge from the clouds which my grenades brought upon and my friend just laughed as it was so epic the way I slowly approached them from beyond the smoke and on a zipline ascending towards them slowly

Moments like these are why this is my favorite game, plus I love all the voice lines. I point at things just to hear if they say anything and a suprizing amount of them do.

My 2nd most played game of all time. Genuinely a joy to play, and the devs are wonderful, and very attentive to what the community thinks. They made Doretta's head pop off just so we could carry it back with us. No bonus or anything, the community just felt sad that she always got left behind.

All craters created by explosions cover the ground in hot rock which damages and builds up heat.
Dense bunches of plants which exlode upon being damaged enough like in fungus bogs and dense biozone, to make the hot rock thing worse.
Large patches of small fire geysers which periodically erupt with damage and heat buildup.
Singular big lava geysers with high, wide and heavily damaging periodic eruptions, and they explode if you dig into them, with a hot rock crater, of course.
Random earthquakes which apply big slowdown and then spawn fissures with steep walls covered in hot rock.

This game is a cult classic already. One of its recipes for success is how attentive and aware the devs are. They listen to the community and constantly update it and add new and interesting ways to play.

Literally the best game I've played in years. Devs clearly enjoy and love doing what they do, and care about the players, which 90% of games recently don't do.

I just got into this game last week and it’s genuinely been the most fun ive had playing games with friends in a long time. From aesthetics to gameplay its just so perfect and fun.
10:15 the storytelling, the acting, the cinematography- perfect. A true masterpiece.
"9/10" good gameplay, fresh jokes and funny commentary. Zanny videos is a definitely must watch.
Right after watching this I downloaded the game and I have been having so much fun! I love the art aesthetic, the beer types, and the servers! OH THE SERVERs!! This is the easiest random multiplayer connecting process I have ever found. I have nothing but high hopes for this game and sincerely hope that Zanny will download more videos playing this.

To spice things up you guys can also use all sorts of mods.

Picked it up myself and am already enjoying it solo, can't wait to get into a server when I got a grip on the controls and missions better.

I agree with Arkan! I jumped into online without even knowing how to swing a pickaxe and learned a lot from more experienced peeps.
I have over 270 hours in game and my highlights in public lobbies have been teaching the greenbeards how to play. Or at least guiding them in the right direction. One time two other dudes and I had to book it back to a lost Scout and bring him back to a drop pod, good times.
You all are right! I got into a server and had a good crew, honestly its such a great time having a full crew looking out for each other no matter what level the dwarves are. Honestly it just feels different than other games, where I am not worrying about being criticized too heavily. It really is something special, and of course:

Been playing since early access on Xbox. A little story about my time on the DRG subreddit:
I began playing DRG with my friends when I was still in high school and high school was the worst time in my life. Hormones, ADD and clinical depression are a bad mixture to say the least. I rarely post on Reddit, but I posted a thank you message to the community and devs about how the game was helping me through an awful time in my life. Some of the actual devs responded to thank me and wished me luck since high school can be difficult for many people. I'm now 22 and still love this game.

And just a few nights ago, my friend had something to do so he was still in the drop pod and had full view of the nemesis sneak up behind me and grab me and drag me away from the pod. We ended up losing but my friend could bit stop laughing
