Building a better mousetrap! 👍 I always wondered why the comparators weren't cut with the shoulder angle to get a better measurement of the bump. Great job, Kenny! 👍🇺🇸 Love what you did with leaving the lands and grooves in it, too.
Very good idea Kenny. Another Premier Service to offer your customers. When I bring you my rifle I'm going to have you build me one of those as well. As well as setting up a modified piece of brass for the case overall length gauge. Another great idea. Echo
Fancy! I’m pretty sure I’m only capable of shooting 1.5” groups with any rifle:) but I’m glad there are people out there pushing the limits! Sweet setup you got!
That's genius-!, and somewhat simple. I just loaded 50, and even tho I used my Hornady comparator, I'd bet using your tool would show + or - of .005 on what the wiggle factor gives me the Hornady tool...👍👍👍👍👍
Pretty cool...aluminum CTE is actually pretty terrible. Tool steel is about twice as good but if you want total temperature stability in a steel like metal, then Invar is your winner. For measuring cases CTE of the gauge isn't a big deal. Pretty cool video, I need a lathe...lol
I would have stopped at the shoulder minus a couple of thousands. That was you can check fire formed brass without the side walls sticking to your gauge and possibly giving you false readings.
I've seen this method used for Giraud trimmers inserts also. Only question I have is about your mention of using 0 bump. If I go less than 0015 bump, chambering become unreliable.
Majority of rifles I shoot use a floating bolt. It takes advantage of the slop. Just preference and I have never had unreliable chambering even in the worst weather conditions in competition. Were talking about half the size of a human hair
Think I'm over thinking this idea?

Makes perfect sense. Build the comparator with the same tools you build the barrel with.
It don’t get more custom than getting a comparator with your chamber...👍👍👍👍
With your new shooting range, I'm debating on what type of rifle I should build ya lol. I do know its gotta be easy to reload... hmmm 💡

Very simple, very smart. Nice work👍
Thanks for sharing your video. Looks to be good ideal. Making your compared to match your chamber

The logic sounds solid to me.

Really smart idea . That will be a big plus for someone to have , when getting there rifle from you
I like that idea Kenny it's great to see that you are a true craftsman, I can tell your mind doesn't stop!!! lmao 😂

Absolutely, I just loaded up all my 6 ARC yesterday and yes this tool showed that my FL sizer was more accurate than I thought
Nice addition to a custom rifle build. Good stuff!
Genius man!! That is a Very handy and accurate addition!!
It doesn't get much closer than that! Nice Work Kenny this could be a game-changer 👊😎🇺🇸
That is a great idea . It takes out the wiggle room for error .
Really tight fit. Absolutely no wiggle room until you use a sized case👍
Incredibly smart!...
You sir" , is quite a genius!
BRILLIANT!
That’s a really good idea.👍👍
That’s a great idea much better than getting the rifle and setting up the tool
That is an awesome idea to sell with your barrel
Chambering work.
Great tool! Great idea.
Simply genius!
Love it... might need to hook up once they hit the website!
Man you've been killing the upload game!
Nice work and great idea :) Thanks for sharing :)
Awesome idea. I noticed my comparator doesn't measure exactly either. The aluminum can get dinged easy too..
Good work!

Nice I’m going to need one
Gotcha covered👍
Get ready to make a lot of these Kenny
Great Idea.

guess I gotta go shopping for a lathe today :)

🍻👍
Do you ever use a floating reamer holder?
Yes, I use the bald eagle reamer holder. My tailstock sits 4 ten thou high else Id use a solid holder
Kenny if I may, I am planning to make my own 6x47 lapua reamer. And planning to use 109 Berger's..
What leade/freebore should I use?
Hey brother! My reamer I got is shorten to a 105 FB to run both 105's and 109's itll also like 112 Match burners and 115 dtacs later after some wear.
Thanks kenny, I am grateful for you recommendations and knowledge.
God bless!
