So a synthesizer is an older term. It was originally developed back in the 70s to differentiate between piano and keyboards and keyboards that were only designed to make noise. However, today they are commonly known as digital or electric pianos because they are all rolled into one. Especially the ones that Jordan Rudis is using I happen to have the smaller version of the one that he uses and I’ve been using it since 2006.

Hi Guys, and good to see Nirvana again. I have not heard of this group, but really enjoying it. Loving the drumming. I too love instrumentals ... Especially from groups like "Rush". There is a Steven Wilson album called "To The Bone" and there is a track I am so addicted to ... however it's the instrumental version on a bonus disc on the Special Edition cd's, and not the vocal track on the main album...It's called " The Same Asylum As Before" I am constantly playing it more than any other tracks ... despite this album being amazing. Then "Pariah" is another track .. with vocals this time, on the main album, that is stunning. When the sound hits you ... and it will hit ... after the verses ... I cannot explain it .. but it is so powerful emotionally ! It's like a surge of electricity through your body ...but translated into emotions. ... So thats "Pariah" you also need to hear. Great reaction and Nirvana grooving to the music is what I do when it's this good. .... If Nick & Lex don't get around to listening to "The Same Asylum As Before" instrumental version ... Nirvana you will love it !!! Go listen !! Byeee Jim X

I remember learning this track on bass back when I was 19 or so years old. So much fun! Learning the whole LTE album was a blast! At this point I know every fill and solo haha. Made me a better player for sure 🫶🏻

Think Stevie Wonder only he looks like a throw back hippie from the 1960's. He has fans worldwide. Nicest most sincere young man. Watch his TH-cam original version of "I will give you blue" with the string quartet at the old Bing theater(named after Bing Crosby who made Spokane his hometown). The song is dedicated to his wife. Ladies get your hankies ready. You guys too. Also, listen to his recording, TH-cam, of his other song(he wrote) "Unaware" performed in his Mom's living room(he grew up in a small Northeastern Washington town, USA). Geez... He just blows my mind with his raw talent. His staccato is beautiful! You will hear many play and sing his songs. But he is the creator. Enjoy! He will rip your heart out with emotion. ❤
If you've never heard the song Luminol by Steven Wilson, it has a similar upbeat jazzy groove. I'm surprised I never heard this band. I really like Tony Levin and saw him several times in the 1980's with Peter Gabriel and King Crimson - amazing concerts all.
Lex!! That's a tough pill to swallow because Dream Theater is my all time favorite band. There's so much more insanely great music you're missing out on. Please don't get hung up on Labrie's vocals. 😊

I hope you show Nirvana more guys, its a treat to hear and see _newbies_ get a taste of what we listen to on a regular basis. She's let herself go into the groove and moods of the music, so its good that she started out with the "audio" and the _aural_ experience :). Nirvana is more than ready to eat all this up, she's already into breaking down what she likes about this and other musics. - Good job Big Sister & Big Brother 😊(read my comment about the "keyboard" on Porky Tree, its a clean "guitar" ;).

LTE is basically Dream Theater minus singer and substitute bassist Tony Levin for bassist John Myung.
