i've listened Kamelot for almost all my life, and now my newborn baby simply loves their songs, when i sing them to her, or play them, she is so quiet and peacefull, i am so happy... long live Kamelot.
we celebrated my daughters first birthday this month, i can tell u she enjoys all kamelot songs. all i can tell u people, teach your children to love high quality music not something that cannot be even described as music.
Sailormans hymn,Abandoned and Don't Cry...why did I never felt conected whit this 3 songs before? Ill been always listening for the heavy songs all the time from this band, now i realize that my mom past away, and one of them is my daughter favorite song to go sleep now she is 3 years old and i still sing sailormans hymn for her..I have to transform into roy khan to make her happy
Kamelot means to me an essencial part of my life. It's songs makes me remember like 7 yeas ago when i was an teenager, with my cousin Igori. My friend, cousin and brother. Tamo junto primo!
You know when you hear a song as a teenager and it seems so heart-rending and meaningful and then you listen to it again years later and realize it's really hokey and trite? This is the opposite of that.
Not quite: I don't think it ever sounded that cliched or shallow. I loved it the first time I heard it (which is actually today. Can't believe I've missed songs like these)
When I hear Roy Khan sing this, I believe him. I can feel what he is expressing through the song. It's one thing to have a nice voice, another to carry you through the emotions of the song. No one does it better. I miss you man.
he's not a sailor... he's just a free spirit wanting to explore the world... with the price of us being apart for uncertain periods of time... usually very long ones... thank you Kamelot for such a beautiful piece and thank you for making this video with the lyrics. :)
The people who appreciate Roy Khan and Kamelot really know music. The difference between them and most of the metal bands out is that they make every song worthwhile.Every album is worth buying. They don't need to prove who plays faster and harder to be metal. Kamelot captures all kinds of audiences.
@MindOfPagan I would believe it. I was practicing Kamelot's Epilogue on my piano two weeks ago and my mom told me she had heard a classical melody just like it before. Kamelot likes to have their basis in traditional melodies and themes. It's really beautiful.
For those of you who are fans of this or Kamelot fans in general there actually is or at least was footage of Khan singing this at a friends wedding years ago. Check it out if it's still up.

I sing this for my true love who is oceans away in Bulgaria and soon his work will be moving him only states away. By Christmas he should be about a 3 hour drive to 5 hour bus away from me near my home in Maryland near DC! I cannot wait! I even have a fake battery operated candle lit for him!
That is no other than: Rannveig Sif Sigurdardóttir (hope I spelled that right xD) Kamelot had many great female voices to support both their studio albums as well as their live performances :)
really fascinating how powerful can music be, kamelot's proved that can nearly bring tears to your fcking eyes.
I can't talk enough about how lucky I am to know and revisit this song once in a while. The magic of music and language.

Metal is the new classical.
Classical is old school metal, so I suppose it's balanced
most beautiful song i have heard in years
So poetic. Roy Kahn's voice is perfect.
Thanks Kamelot for this beautiful song: )
long life to Kamelot
I love when the love of my life sings me this song, he simply becomes one thing with the song and it means everything to me

A track capable of making even the stones cry, fantastic song !!!
This works perfectly as a lullaby. It makes me so happy and calm. ^^
So sad though.
Roy, still unreachable, still my inspiration. Miss you.

Hail from Brasil! \o/
Every single time i listen to this song, i feel my heart full of sadness. But it's not bad at all.
Do you know what i mean???
Roy is so good at evoking strong emotions with his lyrics and voice. This song is incredibly moving.
Captive and blind by the darkness around
Can you hear the sirens resound?
From the coastline of Ireland tonight
It's the song of a promising heart
Of the souls that the ocean unite
And she stands by the window alone
Staring into the rain
She is trying to guide his way home
From the waters that keep them apart
So she lights up a candle for hope to be found
Captive and blind by the darkness around
Firm as a mountain, she never will mourn
Timeless awaiting the break of dawn
Can you hear the sailor man's hymn?
As it comes with the rise of the tide
It is sung where the rainbow begins
As a comfort for the tears she has cried
She remains by the window alone
Staring into the rain
She is trying to guide his way home
Keeps on praying for god to protect him
She lights up a candle for hope to be found
Captive and blind by the darkness around
Each wave a promise, a new hope reborn
Sunrise consoles at the break of dawn
Linda demais!!!!!!!!! ❤💙💚
I cry!!!
Amazing song

nice song , nice voice
How can anyone dislike this?
@lorddomal Double Hail from Brazil! Hell Yeah!
First song that i actually learned tgo play on guitar. Damn it feels.
Reminds me of a Gaelic song Fhir A'Bhata. They surely like to sing about a boatman/ sailorman.
❤ a song full of sentiments ❤
i'm normally pretty stone faced, and this got a tear out of me
The prettiest part of this is 00:00-4:08.
LOVE THIS
pls come back Roy Khan...
I wish Roy hadn't left i had tickets to go see him live :(
add rainymood to it beautiful sound
That is no other than: Rannveig Sif Sigurdardóttir (hope I spelled that right xD)
Kamelot had many great female voices to support both their studio albums as well as their live performances :)
awesome
Muito foda essa musica
i just listening the song while im sailing in the midle of the atlantic ocean...
Hm, I think it's in C-minor unlike most of Kamelot's songs (main riff is G-e-G-e-G-e-F-D-F-D-F-D-e-C-e-C-e-C). Love it. (trying to play it on piano.)
@LeloRetsam Triple Hail from Brasil, Kamelot 4ever!!!
Das awesome
Total urination! Muito boa essa música
Whole the life time. A man just wish a lady standing by a window for him.

Anyone know where the intro section (The melodic ballad with the acoustic, spanish-sounding guitar) is from?
Aerosmith's "Dream On". Love it.
