Allow me to connect them for you: - Nightwish's new singer, Floor Jansen, used to be a part of After Forever with Mark Jansen. - Mark Jansen is in Epica with Simone Simons. - Simone Simons is Oliver Palotai's girlfriend. - Oliver Palotai is the keyboardist in Kamelot. There you go :)
As someone who has lost their faith in religion and god due to misfortune and depression and just seeing life how it really is, this song speaks to me amazingly. Love Kamelot. Thank you for this video.
great attempt and you have nailed it, and thanks for lyrics :) this song is stuck in my head since 3 weeks ago, i love this band and the new singer Tommy Karevik great singer his is and so is the old singer the one who wrote this song and many others before Tommy Karevik took over this band and i think he is the best ever
Just Discovered kamelot. Knew the name, not the songs. Heard this song in a list of metal ballads. Now I'm hooked. I've listened to this song for hours. It touches my soul.
What a piece. My brother and I never really got along musically, but he just couldn't resist stealing this masterpiece from my playlist haha. He listens to it to this day.
I can relate to this song, I wish couldn't.. It's a very very beautiful and powerful song.. I hope I'm able to stay clean... I have a craving that comes over me, I've been fighting it so far, piece and love everyone....
He had a burnout and collapsed and he then took some time to really consider his decision to leave the band. Wikipedia has some information on it and Thomas mentioned religion had something to do with it and if you read Roy Khan's personal blog where he says goodbye, that is shown in the final statement where he writes "The good news is... God was there afterall." He is now healthy and living and working in Norway with his family.
Glyvenator no kidding. can't wait for the next album, first album with a new vocalist doesn't really play with his/her strengths. the band is so used to the old vocalist's style that the new vocalist has to try to "copy" that style, and they can't always do it. it's a big reason why a lot of people didn't like Nightwish's Dark Passion Play album.
Sure brings back memories.. Before I knew anything of myself, I used to flee out into the woods every night the moon was full, or sing this to the sea in the dark. Always alone.. I´m a dead god.
This studio version is of course great, but nothing compares to Cold Winter's Night version for me, so much more intense and passionate, he was really living inside the song. In fact, I think just about every song that night was better than the studio version, that's one of the greatest concert DVDs of all time, Kamelot at its pinnacle.
when I was a term I used to listen to this song all the time because i could relate to it due to me being a homosexual it is a very deep song in a way that it shall never leave my heart
I would sing along but, every time I try to sing the higher note it feels like someone is scraping Wolverine's claws against my throat. Being sick sucks.
Christophe Mouawad Roy had a burn out at the end of 2010, from all the tours and fame. His voice was aging as well. + He had struggles with faith/God (although he was already a Christian at that time), something you can trace back in the discography of Kamelot. So he stepped out of the music industry to be with his family and to be closer with God.
Can any of you enlightened ones explain to me the line "So take me cross the river wide"? Is it some kind of idiom I do not understand? I have trouble finding out what it means.
There is a term called ''poetic freedom''.. This freedom gives the artist the comfort to mix words and not follow grammar rules... So the right phrase might be ''cross the wide river''... just a rough amateur explanation here...
Actually, this is a reference (I believe) to the River Styx, the river the dead had to cross (In Greek Mythology) to get to the underworld. I'm not sure about this, to be honest, but this is just my guess
NymphetMephisto I believe it is the river Styx as Dillon Traglia said, but also it may be related to the fact that in the previous album Helena drowned in a river.
Khaaaaaaan, ohhh whyyyy Khaaaaaaaaan,
have you abandoned us...?
Bring him back... damn it all! Sacrifice Justin Beaver or something!
DemonsxXxHeart Eh, I really like Tommy's voice though :P
NikonNevzorov
Me too, but you know nostalgia is strong.
Me too, but he's one of the best voices that i've heard in my life and it's sad that he left the band :(
So true
My introduction to kamelot, 16 years ago. Still my favourite band.

one of the greatest songs ever written.
This song, especially the last minute, is of the most beautifully composed and vocalized songs in all of rock.

Andrey Latinsky same
I'm a dude and this song gets me choked up and teary eyed everytime I hear it. Out of all the ballads Kamelot has done, this one is my favorite.
Speaks to my soul
@@missreia Mine, too.
Great song - especially because it reflects many thoughts I had, since I've lost my beloved wife last year ago.

My sincere condolences my friend, may no one else have to endure what you have gone through.
🤍
One ofmy fav singers ever. Dude has such an amazing voice. To witness that live was truely memorable.
You're so lucky!
Kamelot was my favourite band until he quit the band. I always keep going back to the old songs.
Allow me to connect them for you:
- Nightwish's new singer, Floor Jansen, used to be a part of After Forever with Mark Jansen.
- Mark Jansen is in Epica with Simone Simons.
- Simone Simons is Oliver Palotai's girlfriend.
- Oliver Palotai is the keyboardist in Kamelot.
There you go :)
One step further: Floor Jansen is married to the drummer from Sabaton
My question is, did Simone Simon name her band after Kamelot's Epica album, or did Kamelot name their album after her band?
@@marnieculotta2002 Epica the band was named after Epica the album.
This song is the HYMN of my life.
Same

How can someone with a soul not love such a beautiful song .
Just Discovered kamelot. Knew the name, not the songs. Heard this song in a list of metal ballads. Now I'm hooked. I've listened to this song for hours. It touches my soul.
I remember a song, like in a dream...where September was long, and winter unreal....
Love this song. I cry everytime.
It's truly beautiful
What a piece. My brother and I never really got along musically, but he just couldn't resist stealing this masterpiece from my playlist haha. He listens to it to this day.

Currently she's 'only' the guest vocalist for tours, but i really hope she sticks with them forever.

The best male voice in metal Roy khan 💫☄
i cry so much when i realized that khan leaves the band =(
It's ok. The new singer is more than good enough.

@@zackzaike4630 Now we are three albums later. What do you think of Tommy?
Roy é ed è stato un grande artista, questo pezzo é bellissimo

Enough with the drama
Yahwe Love Him okay take it down a notch edgelord
2edgy4me...
Love it
I've never found a song that I completely related to until now, and it's by some band that I've never even heard of...
its the khan's kamelot effect in motion ^^
The best music is usually the music you have to look for, or stubble across.
Great voice
The Darkness and Hope de Moonspell y Black Halo son pinches discos tan mágicos que olvidas tiempo y lugar...sobre todo con audífonos!!!
This studio version is of course great, but nothing compares to Cold Winter's Night version for me, so much more intense and passionate, he was really living inside the song. In fact, I think just about every song that night was better than the studio version, that's one of the greatest concert DVDs of all time, Kamelot at its pinnacle.
Can I still cry after all these years?
Eu amo essa música!

jan shouse The Black Halo got me into Kamelot and the awesome voice of Roy. And now he's gone, it's a terrible shame.
+jan shouse It's my favorite album of all time :)
Melhor canção deles
In 2011 Roy Khantatat abandoned music definitely. Does someone know why?
