I’m so proud Rob’s my classmate @USF Anatomy master’s program! His personality is SO charismatic & kindest heart!! True leader yet very humble...sometimes “you just have to take a different road & learn more about yourself”...very profound conclusion
“When I graduate from med school I’ll be like 30, and here i am being in my 30s and still a premed” haha a shot right into my heart! I can relate! Thanks for the kind advice and nice video. This is inspirational!
Awesome episode! Really inspiring to know that there are non-traditional students out there who refuse to give up their dream and are committed to doing anything and everything to make it happen!
You’re not the only one, i also graduated in 2012 but with a 2.3 gpa, i was the student that used to say “I dont need school” but not anymore. Starting my pre-reqs this fall.
Love the interviews with the non-traditionals. I too had bad HS advisors. Not encouraged to study science even though I took an insane amount of math and science and was valedictorian of my HS class. I think I was encouraged to go into music because I was a female. I hope it is different for HS students now.
Sounds like me with similar GPAs and age. Sound advice from Dr. Gray. For me, I did not retake any prerequisites though i did poorly in them but was able to eke out an acceptance.
My hats off to this guy. He's fighting the good fight. I might be taking the same route as this guy. Physics BS class of 2009. I always thought my D in Quantum Mechanics would could me from ever being a MD or any type of graduate degree. Been working as a field engineer for 10 years (work life ratio is terrible...in and out of hotel rooms across the southwest). Plan B did turn into a life for me. I was thinking about redoing my pre reqs after all these years to have something current for. But, working 12 hour days and doing online classes would leave me without enough motivation to do either. Probably just going to take the MCAT for the first time about December. And start a Master Physiology program in 2021. Yeah no clue. Plan Bs are terrible!
This is literally crazy. I was literally looking int otaking some prereqs because many of them expire this year (and I might not even apply this summer). In the case where some of the medical schools won't accept them...would you recommend to just take them again?
Hi! Would love love love to have Dr. Grey review my old application and help me improve for next time! How can I get involved in something like this? Thank you for all you do!
I need help.. I was planning on taking physics II over the summer but with all this going on now I'm not sure it's a good idea since I have the chance to wait however, it's my last semester at the community college so I was trying to start at the university in the fall.
I had a potential hypothetical scenario that I was wondering if you could weigh in on. For those of us applying to med school this application cycle that normally would not consider the Early Decision route for our state school due to the risks involved if you were to get denied, do you think that this year it would be less of a risk to apply Early Decision and if we were rejected ED around the beginning of October when schools make those decisions, would there still be enough time to reasonably apply to other schools with the general application timelines probably getting pushed back? What’s your thoughts on this?
University of Portland is a private Catholic school. So if you are very religious, and are involved in the Church, it does not matter what you look like.
This was refreshing. Real, humble, and hungry to reach his goal. This guy’s going far 💯
This guy is so genuine and humble. I wish him all the best.

I would love to know the updates. Does he get in med school yet? Wish him best luck!
He is the most personable premed I’ve ever seen on this channel. I really hope he gets in, I’d love for him to be my doctor.

Where is this guy now? I am I'm his shoes now!!! Help.

Probably the best episode I’ve seen
Happy Birthday, Dr. Gray!!!! Thank you for all you do!!
Why is this me 😩 Graduated in 2012 with a 2.9 GPA but I started retaking my pre-reqs last year. Will be taking MCAT next Spring and SMP next fall!!
You’re not the only one, i also graduated in 2012 but with a 2.3 gpa, i was the student that used to say “I dont need school” but not anymore. Starting my pre-reqs this fall.
You got this
Wow he's going to be an amazing doctor
Do you think a true PostBacc program is better than a "do-it-yourself" PostBacc program?

Hi Dr. Gray I really appreciate you doing these. I love how honest you are and it's helped me get through some of that pre-med neuroticism!
Sounds like me with similar GPAs and age. Sound advice from Dr. Gray. For me, I did not retake any prerequisites though i did poorly in them but was able to eke out an acceptance.
How did you get an acceptance with a low gpa? My undergrad gpa is a 2.8 😕
@@kparm23 I did a masters and post-bacc.
