    Dan Hartman was an underrated Blue-eyed Soul singer who died to soon in 1994 at the age of 43.

    Dan Hartmann actually first wanted Daryl Hall to sing this. Hall and Oates were either touring or recording a new album and they were unable to do it. So Dan sang it himself. Really gifted man.

      @kevinnelson66 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hall & Oates had just completed their new album at the time and it had gone to press which meant it was too late for additional tracks to be added. Daryl Hall has performed it live several times as a tribute to Dan.

      Stoney Jackson was the leader of the fictitious band... I loved it. Didn't know who the real singer was until years later 🎶

    This song came out in 1984. It was from a movie called "Streets of Fire "(1984). The film clips you see of the music group singing and dancing on stage are actual clips from the movie.

    Came out in 84. It was a big hit and was in the film ' Streets of Fire'. The footage of Dan looking to the TV with the guys dancing in the film came directly from the film.

    No Talent to Make Songs and Music like this Today . That was a Special Time in History , and Dan Hartman was a Talented Person . Amazing Song , put to Amazing Music. If this Song was Newly Released Today , it would be a Instant International Hit .

    What I so love about the songs, and the groups of the 80's, so many of them brought old style doo wap, and instruments like the saxophone 🎷, trumpets, incorporated into their music,..new wave, techno,..but they fell back on the old style of the 50's, 40's big band,..yess this has that 80's sound,..but the lyrics, and partial style, in the movie the group performing to the song, when I saw this movie in the theater, so reminded me of the Temptations,..yess the moon walk,..but that coordinated group dancing,..just awesome,..thank you for checking out this wonderful song, Rip Dan, ..Godspeed, Peace ✌

    The group on the tv performing this song was from an 80’s movie Streets of Fire. Not bad, kind of cheesy of course and i haven’t seen it in years. A singer is kidnapped and her ex is hired to rescue her and this other band is discovered during the course of the rescue and end up opening up for her at the end, playing this song of course. Willem Defoe, Rick Moranis and Diane Lane starred in it, pretty good line up.

    I’m so sorry that I didn’t learn about this underrated talent before he passed away in 1994. What a phenomenal talent and so many he wrote for like Dinan Ross, Tina Turner and James Brown to name a few and also part of the Edgar Winter Group. Love his song Waiting to See You from the Ruthless People soundtrack. Absolutely magnificent. RIP Dan😢😢😢
