Let me give you a fun piece of information about this concert, during the concert Hoseok's headphones didn't work well but he completed the whole scene without a single mistake. The audio team said that there was a technical problem with Hoseok's headphones and that Hoseok could not hear much of his own voice. I proud of J-Hope. This concert was beyond legendary and J-Hope was so hot throughout the entire stage.
John, CNS was released in 2006. And DJ WebStar and Young B (Bianca, now on the Housewives of Atlanta) are the original signers. Now both Hobi and Becky G said during the filming of the video, that when they started taking dance lessons, it was around the time that this song came out. And on either side of the world this was the first song they both learned they first dance to. J Hope thanks both of them on stage, but he had already given them over 3 million for the possibility of using the song, and any proceeds that he made off of his remake went straight back to them. He made no money off this song...This was J Hope's passion project! And it always will be. Not to mention that it went from just an English song to a tri-lingual song. English, Korean, and Spanish. He wanted to showcase all of them. As well as the dancers. This is why at the end of his video, he gives them all credit. He said that dancers are always seen but never known. Hope this info helps you out.
@alifc you are right. But I also believe Hobi would have paid more if he needed to, seeing how this song started his love of dancing that lead him to BIG HIT, BTS and ARMY. I'm sure u would agree...
When Hobi accepted the invitation to perform at Lolla, he thought he would only do 4-5 songs. My personal guess is that he was going to perform songs from JITB because he was promoting the album. It turned out he was headlining and had to do an 1-hour set. So this is his entire discography (mixtape, album, BTS solos), except Airplane from Hope World and Mama from Wings. Most of them were performed live for the first time because BTS don't perform personal solos at BTS concerts. They only do them for fun at musters or fanmeetings (Daechwita, Chicken Noodle Soup, Tony Montana, Ddaeng, Otsukare).
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve watched this concert! It was so fun watching it with you. You were so enthusiastic and happy💜 when you said that J-Hope and BTS could change the world with their music I clapped because I was thinking the exact same thing and have been for a long time. I hope you get to watch his live that he did with Jimin right after the show it is so cute! he’s still so hyped up from the show just the nervous energy is full on and Jimin being there for him was just so sweet and it’s a really cute live stream💜.
trust us, we all wish that j-hope could do a whole tour too ಥ_ಥ he worked so hard for so long to perfect this performance.. he said that he could perform it in his sleep. not many people can pull off such a long performance with such excellence. he's truly so impressive and I couldn't be more proud. and it took so much courage for him to go first to debut solo. they've always had each other to rely on so it was a completely new experience and he couldn't have don't better. he set the bar very high.
Hobipalooza Chicago proves that J-Hope got this wide range in music and most specially in performing live. What a professional, talented and best performer he is.
This concert was a masterpiece in every way!!! JHope killed it,and watching it along with your reaction made it even better! Thanks man! Music can change the world!💜💜💜
I am so glad I experienced this once in a lifetime event and saw Jhope at Lollapalooza…yet I’m still watching Hobipalooza at least every other day if not everyday. Jhope is awesome!!!!!….Thank you for this reaction John. Looking forward to more BTS videos. 54 year old army here😄💜
Jhope is just the epitome of how one person or seven people (BTS) for that matter can change our cruddy world for the better, but I think it's gonna take an ARMY too, love love love him and all the members of BTS.. thanks for great reaction as always. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Yes! If music can change the world, it’s music like J Hope and BTS. You saying that is not cheesy at all, you’re spitting out facts and how we all feel about their music.
JHope performed 19 songs during this performance! I think for 1 person to do this on a regular would be too much. I'm sad I missed it but I hope BTS gets some rest now.
I'm so overwhelmed although it is my 100th time watching his set .... can you imagen this is his DEBUTE stage ??? most of the songs he is performing for the first time! Artists get nervous performing a new song yet he performed a new ALBUM + a never performed mixtape on his DEBUTE stage aa a soloist. I'm literally out of words to describe this man he is just the most talented. most hard working, and most creative Artist I've ever known. Like i know for sure I'll always be a fan. Mad respect to u j-hope
He is such an amazing artist and I'm so happy for him that he's finally admitted he is that good. We all always knew but he needed this validation. Love love love J-Hope!
Yay! Loved part 2 just as much as part 1~ 😁 Still hoping you'll have the chance to check out the VLive J-Hope did right after this concert. 😅 Oh, and just in case you still wanted to know… Ego is from Map of the Soul 7! 😁 So Proud of Hobi, he owned this stage.💜
I’ve seen this concert about 10 times and it never gets old. I know J-Hope loved the experience but I get the sense he would miss his brothers being with him with respect to doing a tour alone. Fun to watch it with you!
This performance of Dynamite is the "tropical version". A remix with new choreo. I heard he wanted to freshen it up. There are 8 stages for Lolla. By the end of Sunday, there were 4 active stages including Green Day. J-Hope was the official closer for Lollapalooza Music Festival. J-Hope's post concert VLive with Jimin is worth watching. J-Hope said he was in a dark place while preparing in Chicago. Then Jimin got there and he was so happy. 💜
Oh after I watched it live online I watched it over and over again many times for days. Especially the first part, I loved that part so much but it was a great set the whole thing!
I think Becky G expressed how Army was feeling we are just so proud …. I agree with you Music is the grate unifier and it does makes a change because it a reflection of the generation 💜💜💜💜💜
Hobi worked himself into the ground to make this perfect. He worked such long hours and stopped eating with the stress. It was upsetting to see how much weight he had lost. I hope he’s eating properly now. He certainly tucked in when Jimin ate with him after the concert. He is the consummate performer, the whole package. He lights up the stage and and in doing so lights up our lives. Your enthusiasm is contagious too, John.
Seriously!!! It's been over 3 mo and every day I wish I could experience Hobipalloza again! The energy was immaculate! I cried so many times! That first note of Piece of Peace, and I fell apart. Watching him up in that stage performing songs from Hope World, Ego (The Outro from the album MOTS7), seeing him perform Just Dance (from LY Answer) again. After all these years of wishing and praying, my dreams finally came true. And I knew he felt the same! Omitting Airplane was the only regret as he wrote the melody in a hotel in Chicago during Wings Tour. Plus it's an amazing song! I would have swapped Dyna for it. The crowd loved it though. I was actually impressed with the crowd. So many knew the lyrics and sang so much louder and better than you hear in the livestream. They were true fans of his. It was a much better crowd experience than the PTD shows. It would be tragic for him to never perform Hobipalooza again. Never use that stage set again. Or perform that choreo. I think he's only limited by his label and their politics. It's a disgrace I hope he remedies. Fact is, he's at the level MJ was at his peak, and should be pursuing that as a soloist. I've seen both MJ & j-hope multiple times. I've been to hundreds of concerts, j-hope is the only talent I've seen since MJ that could match his abilities. Once in a generation talent!
I think Hobi isn't just limited by Hybe, but you might know more than me in that regard? I think he's a little limited by BTS and by himself. I think the fact that BTS are 7 has its advantages and disadvantages. Hobi has to share tracks and a stage with 6 other amazing performers, but he also gets the support of having 6 other amazing performers. He was so grateful that Jimin was there to support him for Lollapalooza. J-Hope has surely made many sacrifices for BTS, so I'm very grateful that we got an entire solo album with a solo performance, he really got to shine and show off all his skills. But the V-live after this performance and other promotional interviews made me like. Very concerned for his health. Of course I don't know what's going on in his life, and Hobi is an adult man who is very capable of taking care of himself, but it sounds like he really was not doing too hot. He's human too, and with the amount of work he put into this, I'm honestly still shocked he didn't collapse on stage. He hides behind his smile so we won't worry and so we'll enjoy his performance. But despite these things, I'm sure that he had so much fun doing this performance that he would sign up for this again in a heartbeat. I dunno, reading your comment reminded me of that section of TROB series where it's mentioned how Idols are looked at like gods, and Hobi 100% came off that stage looking like a god, but I feel like he might have sacrificed a little more than necessary or healthy to get there, if that makes sense? I understand your comment, but I wanted to put this here as a reminder to myself and other ARMYs that the Tannies have limits and even though they push through 99% of the time, I hope we can be understanding of their limits when they do arise. Borahae! 💜
Hi John! This concert proved that Jhope is a Rockstar!! Can you please react to the live Jhope did right after Lollapalooza? It is so endearing!!! Dated 07.31 on VLIVE but it is also on Weverse with subtitles. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
I agree with you, this is the music that can change the world. If you want proof, just look at your own first BTS reaction video and look at you now. You've definitely changed for the better. And even if it's just one person, that's still significant.
I like your channel because I'm also a huge metal fan that fell in love with BTS and is now part of ARMY. I completely agree with you on your comment that BTS and J-Hope have the power to change the world. I think that feeling of positivity drew me to them. They inspire me to be kind to others and to myself. When you said about bands that could change the world, I also immediately thought of Gojira. They are doing such great work on raising climate awareness and are my veggie leaders of the world. Music with power to change the world is the best type of music.
He choreographed the entire performance! Even when you thought he wasn’t, he was. This was the Tropical remix of Dynamite! Second half he ended with his lighter side!
On his VLive before Jack In The Box launched I made a comment asking him when the solo BTS World Tour was going ahead, he laughed at my comment and said “Solo World Tour noooooo”, but then I was like Lollapalooza Headliner and this performance and ARMY is like yes bae you can do it no prob
In the second part, he and the dance crew nailed it too, it was so smooth and have a nice a vibe💜 btw ego is his solo song in the bts album map of the soul:7.
I'm so proud of Hobi. He made history with that amazing performance and the fact it was his official debut as a solo artist? Nah, this man is a legend.
No one played after J-Hope on the same stage. There were three other main stages and I think two started later or played longer and on was at the same time frame. I know Green Day had a two hour set. J-Hope was only supposed to play for an hour, but he played an hour and twenty minutes.
At around the 10 min point, you asked which album that song was from. It's Outro: Ego in the album Map of the Soul: 7. Every member had a solo in that album (early 2020), and Ego was J-Hope's.
More Jhope concerts was what I wanted too.. Hoping to some festival in Europe :) but I don't know why not, what plans do the label have for their solo albums.. Jhope lollapalooza was very well received, but no other program made :(( maybe to prepare for the Busan concert.. Not sure, but is a shame, so much work.. To make this new album, to prepare that perfect performance, shame he didn't got more opportunities...
The concert was wildly entertaining, but also very engaging and endearing. Throughout the concert, j-hope remained himself. He talked with the audience as he would with friends. He interacted with the dancers and Becky G in a very down-to-earth, joyful, and appreciative way. To me, the key to j-hope and BTS is the way they retain a certain humility and gratitude toward others, whether they are speaking at the UN, or singing to 1,000s of screaming fans, or playing with the producer's kids who visit on set. I know as performers they want to please the audience, but their aim is not to appease or trick the audience into liking them. It's more like they've worked to prepare a great party, and now is the time to bring us along for the ride, and enjoy sharing all the moments with us. 💜💜💜
some background meaning for the original CNS. Chicken Noodle Soup with a soda on the side was a common after school meal for the poor latchkey kids in the projects in Harlem (and probably all around the country). Also, the let it rain and clear it out refers to basketball as many kids hung around basketball courts...so let the shots rain and then when you rebound the ball clear it back out. Thanks.
Jhope was incredible. Just the way he speaks you can truly see how humble he is. His life and artistry in music has changed so many of his fans lives. And the Future we can only hope will be filled with more of his beautiful soul.
It was so great... The live afterwards was just a good and important to why he chose what he did and the order. Also, if you look up some Jimin fan cams for this and you will see the interaction between him and hobi.
Best Music Festival Performance I have ever seen Hobi absolutely killed this performance, a born performer @ those vocals is why this man is my bias, K-Pop artists should do more of these in all countries in the world as I would go to music festivals in Australia if the headliners were as good as Lollapalooza 2022 was.
Hobi is such a versatile artist and I love both his bright and dark side. Don't worry John, we'll get to see him perform again. He'll be doing a solo performance for the upcoming MAMA awards 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
I have probably seen this more that 10 times and I enjoy it each and every time ! Hobi was on fire & so fierce during this concert - I am so glad Jimin came and lift his spirits & mood ( he said this after the concert during their VLive ) coz he was getting depressed and tired and was not eating / sleeping well - Jimin is really an angel & Tae also called to support him. Hobi was the last performer of that stage that night - he was the main attraction..when you saw someone’s name after him - it was just how HULU put it out in the line up for the viewers - Hobi’s performance was LIVE for us … the next one was already a recording of that person’s performance. Thanks for this !! I truly enjoyed watching again !
Thank you so much for your reaction John! We all know Hobi is awesome and I am so delighted that he is in the spotlight. He did say that he found it so difficult without his brothers. I read somewhere that he said he ate and slept better once Jimin came. I think he went straight on Vlive with Jimin after the concert. And Lolla made him next-level confident - he was lethally gorgeous in Busan.
This concert is crazy amazing! You should watch the live he did afterwards with jimin. He talks about how afraid and concerned he was. But he killed it!
John i think you're right about music can change the world, i think it already started, they have change so many lives including mine and have spread and continuing spreading so much positivity thrugh their music
This was an incredible performance by an incredible artist. Hobi and Becky G have been trying for literally years to get together to perform CNS, and it meant the world to them both to finally be able to do so. I agree with you that (a) music CAN change the world; and (b) if anybody can lead that charge, it's Hobi and BTS. Also, you might be interested in the vlive that Hobi and Jimin did right after this concert. It's one of the most wholesome things ever, and you get such insight into J-Hope.
man I definitely thought the same about wanting hobi to do a solo tour like every time I watch hobipalooza because he is such an AMAZING performer and musician as a whole, he can do it all and idk I always think to myself the same as you that it would be very sad that that awesome setlist was just for lollapalooza I just... I need more ㅠㅠ
The gloves I think were part of the design concept with the artist “KAWS” for Jack in the Box. They looked like they were a bit bothersome to him but they weren’t random. ItsJHope, everything is considered 👌
I was there 3 yrs ago at the BTS LYSY tour. I had great floor seats. That was my very first BTS concert and I freakin loved it. I will never forget that night and experience. I also had floor seats to see them at Map of The Soul but sadly that was cancelled😢. Went to see them in LA at Sofi. Had a great time.
Thank you John I truly have a great time to experience the whole concert again with you. I extremely love your video and i hope you will post more reaction video about bangtan later on.
Listening to you talk about the kind of concerts you dream of I was yelling at the screen “John! We do have those kinds of shows!” 😂 Starting with the Wings Tour, BTS has had solo and unit songs that they perform during their concerts. Outro: Ego, which is on Map of the Soul: 7, would have been the solo song Hobi performed during their MOTS tour. Since it was cancelled and they were kept from doing concerts for 2 years bc of covid, they decided to do only ot7 songs during their ptd concerts. Typically they do perform unit and solo songs during their concerts. Sure tours for their solo efforts would be cool, but Hobi mentioned after Lolla that it just wasn’t the same without the other members. I think one off shows and such are great, but idk if they would want to do solo tours away from each other like that. Either way, Hobi absolutely killed it at Lolla. I was there and it was electric. I screamed so hard I lost my voice for 2 weeks lol. I love the boost of confidence it gave Hobi that we could see during the Busan show.
I listen to the concert when I work out or go for a walk. It’s a vibe and Hobi always puts me in a good mood. Hobi is one incredible human being. We need more of him. Oh we do. There are 6 gorgeous and talented men somewhere in HYBE. 💜
Sienna, the tall blonde dancer is a choreographer for BTS, so it was awesome she was there and dancing with the group (and assume she choreo'd the show for Hobi)!
Like Laura Hilliker and others below said, it was a hit in 2006 with a dance craze. JHope said it strongly influenced his dancing when he was about 12/13. Still makes me laugh, but we had just as crazy ones (more so) in the 80's and 90's 😘💜🤘🏻
I said this in part 1, but this concert was just...amazing! He's a phenomenal talent. I never get tired of watching this concert and I absolutely loved your reaction. Thank you for sharing this with us!💜
J-hope is so on point performing, very synchronized with his dancers, high energy all throughout, and yes- he always makes sure to cover the stage space ^^! So detailed oriented and the panoramic eye of his along with being an amazing performer... he's PERFECT!! From jumping around, singing, changing expressions, interacting with the dance crew, never forgetting to show appreciation to Jimin, Bang PD, ARMY, AND HE NEVER MISSED A BEAT!!!! HOBIPALOOZA IS LEGENDARY, J-HOPE IS A SUPERSTAR 🛐🥲💕
I always feel cheesy when I say this but I believe. Like- you expressed how you felt that J Hope/BTS music could change the world. I often think they are the real life “ Bill and Ted excellent adventure“. They were destined to bring world together with a song, Bill and Ted. I feel like J Hope/ BTS do that. The example they set toward the world is acceptance and love in a realistic way. I ramble. It was just nice hearing someone else verbalize what I have been thinking/ saying. Thanks.
Shout out to everyone who survived Hobipalooza live. I was losing it and I only saw it on a little laptop screen. I cannot imagine being there in person and having that energy hit me in real life. He did such a great job. I'm so happy that Jimin was able to come and support him too. It's always sweet to see the guys coming to see him. It was a stellar show. Still so proud of our Hobi. I hope we get at least one more solo concert from at least one of the members before they all leave for the military. Any one of them I'd be happy with. Or even one more group concert. I just want as many things to rewatch when I start to miss them. I'd love for Hobi to take this set on tour but I saw how much it took out of him to do it even one time. I'd fear for his physical and mental health to keep pushing himself like that. Unless he believes he can handle it in a safe, healthy way.
Great reaction! ❤ Jhope (Hobi) is complet: the best dance in BTS, can rap in different high/low notes. He's an adorable person, so positive to the crowd. Jack in the Box and Hope on the Streets are his solo works. Because of this, his different looks. In BTS, he's an Idol. There is a kind of pattern to be it. Hair colours, choreography... I'm 46 and I always lived through the music: Iron, Metallica, Linking Park... Playing electric guitar, piano, bass(my strongest) and flute. But, you know, I'm a lyric person. And, I have to admit that BTS and the others solo project members got me. ❤ I'll follow you now cause your empathy with other kind of ritms. 🇧🇷💜🇧🇷
J hope doing a solo world tour, for this headliner he practice 5 hours per day for weeks. Days leading up to the festival while he was in the US he was very nervous and had basically stop eating. Jimin saw his pictures, and jump on a plane to Chicago. None of J Hope team knew he was coming, he just walked into J Hope hotel room while he was asleep. His presence made J Hope relax and could finally eat.. J Hope said he was in a dark place and Jimin was the light.. When he said, army you are fu@# crazy.. he taught he was going to face a new crowd. But army was not going to let that happen. They sold out the festival in its 31 year history. All the hate he received online, when they announced him as an act. People who bought tickets saying they where selling it. Army grabs everyone. Even saw a comment where one who sells the ticket after seeing the videos on TH-cam saying they where sorry.

Thanks for the explanation!
He gave too much, so honest and humble... (on the other hand undeserving, she got the money and play a diva on a cheap show)

Yes! I can tell he has a new found, and well deserved, confidence. The man is a world-class mega star. I adore him beyond words.

The song you asked about that you knew was no on either of his albums is Ego from the BTS album Map of the Soul 7. The MV is good.

Watching Hobipalooza is a spiritual journey, my friend.
Loved this! Both of the video's! Agree with you, J-Hope should go on tour 🤩
i will never get tired of hobipallooza. that is our great hobi. so proud. :’)
Oh after I watched it live online I watched it over and over again many times for days. Especially the first part, I loved that part so much but it was a great set the whole thing!
you need to watch jhope & jimins live after the show …it was soooooo heartwarming
Yes I want j-hope's tour right now, I want 1 VERSE live performence so bad. He is talented and versatiled artist, his stage presence is fr perfect.
I have watched this over and over and everytime I smoke and am so proud of J-Hope. He is truly a beautiful person💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
“Ego” is from Hope World mixed tape. One of my favourite songs! He shot to stardom with this album.
I think Becky G expressed how Army was feeling we are just so proud …. I agree with you Music is the grate unifier and it does makes a change because it a reflection of the generation 💜💜💜💜💜
We are going to see Jhope perform again in MAMA this year. Just get ready!
Hobi worked himself into the ground to make this perfect. He worked such long hours and stopped eating with the stress. It was upsetting to see how much weight he had lost. his face when yhe crowd says "young wild and free" always makes me CRY
also ego is on map of the soul (7)
In person there was 105-110,000 people. Then online there was 20+ Million. It was epic💜

As ARMYs have mentioned Ego was from MOTS7 All members had solos for Map of the Soul, Love Yourself and Wings eras and the are all so amazing 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
I'm on twitter crying every day about j hope world tour ((
I agree with you, this is the music that can change the world. If you want proof, just look at your own first BTS reaction video and look at you now. You've definitely changed for the better. And even if it's just one person, that's still significant.
Love your reaction to this! Outro: Ego was on Map of the Soul 7, so it was J-Hope's solo on that BTS album
I'm so so thankful I took earplugs!! That crowd would've had me deaf half way through
I very agree with you, Jhope have a awesome full package and I never tried to watch this concert over and over again 😊
He choreographed the entire performance! Even when you thought he wasn’t, he was. This was the Tropical remix of Dynamite! Second half he ended with his lighter side!
For even More appreciation for this concert... watch the V Live posted right after the concert!!!
The screaming @9:22 gives me chills and makes me smile! 😊
The Song Ego is the Outro song for BTS’ Map of the Soul 7 album.
I’m so proud of Hobi and ARMY. I wish I was at Hobipalooza.
J hope is so awesome. Thank you for reaction hobipalooza
I truly enjoyed watching again !
i lost count lol i really love this concert sad i could t go but feels like new every time i watch this 💜
9:57 Outro: Ego is from Map Of the Soul: 7, a BTS album, every member has a solo in that album, just like some others BTS albums too
I was at that BTS concert 2019 at Soldier Field. 2 sold out shows...seeing them live is life changing 💜💜💜
RIGHT?! I met up with a bunch of ARMY sisters and their daughters. Let’s just say us old gals had so much fun embarrassing the teens!😎💜
Ego was the Outro for Map of the Soul: 7, one of the seven solos on the album
Ego is the Outro for BTS' album 'Map of The Soul: 7' !!
This concert is crazy amazing! You should watch the live he did afterwards with jimin. He talks about how afraid and concerned he was. But he killed it!
Jhope is testing the waters for BTS going solo and ending up setting the bar really high for the team. Other artists will be watching closely
He is one of a kind! He is literally an all-in-one package, the most versatile I've ever seen!
So good! Just Dance is an iconic song. 💜
J_HOPE killed this performance 🔥🔥❤
man I definitely thought the same about wanting hobi to do a solo tour like every time I watch hobipalooza because he is such an AMAZING performer and musician as a whole, he can do it all and idk I always think to myself the same as you that it would be very sad that that awesome setlist was just for lollapalooza I just...
Great reaction video 💜 Hobi is an Ace he is an all-rounder he is so talented 😌
I fantasize about a festival where all 7 show full sets on their solo work. IMAGINE?!?!
I love anytime BTS and The Lab collaborate! They all clearly enjoy each others company and have respect for one another. Love to see it!!😊
I saw the guys for both days at Soldier Field in May 2019. My daughter and I froze our butts off but had an absolute blast!
Awesome! Loved watching this reaction. Thank you!
Jhope's outro ego is from bts's album map of the soul 7
I love jhope so much he is so talented and professional💕
Outro: Ego is from their Map Of the Soul:7 album. And it is definitely an anthem for Armys
I listen to the concert when I work out or go for a walk. It’s a vibe and Hobi always puts me in a good mood. Hobi is one incredible human being. We need more of him. Oh we do. There are 6 gorgeous and talented men somewhere in HYBE. 💜
Yes we need a j-hope world tour!!!
Ego was on MOTS7.
You should watch the vlive with him right after this concert.
Ego is on 7 (Map of the Soul 7). BTS album has black swan ..On ..Shadow... Persona...Filter ...My Time...Soulmates etc
I love him so much 💜💜💜
Great reaction! ❤
Jhope (Hobi) is complet: the best dance in BTS, can rap in different high/low notes.
I'll follow you now cause your empathy with other kind of ritms. 🇧🇷💜🇧🇷
I am sooooo happy I was able to go to lolla to experience this 🤧
J hope doing a solo world tour, for this headliner he practice 5 hours per day for weeks.
Outro:EGO was originally from Map Of The Soul 7 ....such a vibe song!!!
