Gotta say..finally a well thought out review, not a half assed, put together quickly just to post content right away, speaking only opinions type of review. Much appreciated 🙏🏽
I would consider going for these still, it’s the OG black pair. I have the Rios ( it’s almost like a matte or VANTA black with a pop of colour like a rainbow) and the AMM AJ3 ( it gives a mature vibe, I like the mix of black and the pewter and violet ore seems like a mix between brown and purple). These are still a go so the aj3 bc is worthy. Having all 3 side by side they may seem similar yet quite different
A whole generation of newbies grew up with that crappy pair from 2018, thinking that’s what they should look like. If you’re old school like me who grew up with the originals, you know that these are how they’re supposed to look.
Just like the newbies who liked the lower patent leather cut on 11s. If they loom at the 3s back in the MJ era, they didn't even have tumbled leather....🤷🏾♂️
I’ve had every pair of black cements from 01 till now and honestly the 2018 pair isn’t shitty. It’s definitely not as close to the OG as before but that’s fine. Personally i think they look better and are more comfortable than the 2024 pair. I have the new white cements and they’re just not great comfort wise.
I had the originals and the 2018 pair was pretty close despite the shape. The shape on these look closer to originals but I'm not sure about the leather. Originals had leather look that was more like 2018 .
The OG’s want them as close as to the originals because thats how we remember them and thats how they came. Newbies want them to how they looked when they were first introduced to them.
Bc3 is my favorite 3 . I still have my 2018 pair and it’s in good condition still. Since they’re making so many pairs I’m gonna pass on retail and see if I can find a slightly worn pair in the future for a steal. I’m sure I can wear my 2018s for another 4 years or so loll
Almost everything people say to complain about the leather on these shoes are traits that are more closely associated with genuine leather. Leather isn't naturally tumbled, genuine tumbled leather is heavily worn. The 2018 pair had embossed leather. genuine leather has inconsistencies in the pattern because it's the skin of a living thing lol. This isn't to say that the leather on the 2024s is that good but more to illustrate that the leather on the 2018 pairs is that bad. And it shouldn't matter if people like either, neither or both but people in these comments and other comment sections should at least be educated on the topics that they speak on.
Same ppl complaining is the same ppl that complain about the blue on the Military 4’s and was super wrong…too many opinions from unqualified ppl who wasn’t even around 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
I think in general, you just can’t please everyone. People grew up to different things, will have different preferences. For me the main thing is, I like the OG style elephant print. Light with the thin lines. Pretty much everything else, I can live with
I got the 2011s of the black cements when it was released back then and still rocking it to this day, just having it restoring them once they start to crumble but the leather on it is really built to last. I mean it’s more than a decade old shoe. Had the nike air back tabs and the nike logo soles for the retro feels since it came with jumpman and jordan logos.
I absolutely worry about the QC. The best part about these being a mass GR, is it shouldn't be difficult to head into the store to pick these up, so you can inspect them before you leave. It's already tough enough trying to hit on a super limited shoe, but most of the time nowadays you have to enter raffles where it will be shipped to you if you hit. If QC is bad when the sneaker arrives, your choices are either ask for a refund or rock the faulty sneakers 🤷♂️
If you look at manufacturing, the elephant print is cut out of big sheet material so of course the pattern will differ from section to section, the tumbled leather being smooth in areas is due to the stitching together process it tightens up with the material below, the actual material is the same it’s the construction with differs the tumbledness
The elephant print was known to be mixed or different from shoe to shoe even back then and 94, however the toe rand height is what bothers me. If that is inconsistent, that is a problem.
@ i actually might take what what I said and do 9.5 only because wc3 don’t hurt my feet half size down. I’d rather just do 9.5 and have them feel like the fear 3 which is damn near perfect
Imo “as close to the original”doesn’t always mean it’s good. More often than not with the introduction of new models(in any industry for that matter) there are always some kinds of flaws or kinks that usually gets corrected with time in the process of production(prime example is the original Air Max 1 model that were initially flawed and in 1987 they’ve updated the design and the overall shape (which is much nicer and more streamlined imo) that we all grown to love, hence why these days you often see AM 1s ‘86 “big bubble” models being not as popular as the ‘87s
Looking forward to copping a pair of these. My first ever pair of Jordan 3's were the original og 1988 fire reds. Hope the QC issue is minimum to none on my pair.
It blows my mind how bad Nike has been with the QC lately. I had a minor issues with my Reimagined 1s and Gratitude 11s but for $200+, I wanted better quality than I received.
I pass on these! I have the A Ma Maniere Jordan 3 (and 4...btw) and the quality at this Jordan 3 Black Cement is really bad. Seth Fowler had two different elephant prints and Jay the Sneaker Guy was lucky and was able to switch between his 3 pairs so that they left and right sneaker matched reasonably well afterwards. In that case, I would really rather buy a very good replica of a LJR Batch for around 140 dollars and it would certainly be of much better quality. 😂
@@Lee-ic2yn No, I actually bought the retail A Ma Maniere pairs. Because both were relatively easy to get and A Ma Maniere always delivers top quality. Unlike Nike's quality control, which has gotten worse and worse in recent years. And I still stand by my statement with the Black Cement, the replicas in 2023/2024 are partly recognized by the fact that they have a better quality than Nike or Jordan. Sad but unfortunately true. 😂 And as an addendum, I say YES directly to the question: Would I buy replicas? Because I can't understand why I should pay 500 to 800 euros for a Travis Scott or any limited snkr that only costs 160 if I couldn't get the Snkr for the retail price. If you're paying that much for a sneaker, the quality control had better be on point. And I'm not talking about lighter elephant print, either. I'm talking straight up stitch lines that weren't punched through and panels that are completely crooked.
Jordans aren't consistent with sizing, I couldn't get my foot inside my usual size of Jordan 4 Fear and I wouldn't say Jordan 3's fit true to size. They fit snug in true to size and if you have the problem that the majority of people have with one foot being bigger than the other, I would recommend going a half size up. The Jordan 4 military blue runs true to size. The Jordan 4 Oxidized green runs snug. The Jordan 4 wet cements runs snug. The Jordan 4 Fear isn't wearable in true to size. The things that Eliot was saying about QC isn't the only reason you should buy in person. Jordans fit and feel differently every release. The material they use on the upper has a lot to do with how a shoe feels. All I know is if the Jordan 3 black cements have a lower leather under elephant print that is synthetic the sneakers will smell toxic. I order the Jordan 3 green glows and I couldn't wear them for a couple months because of how Toxic they smelled. The jump men on both tongues was missing his sneakers. I literally thought I got fakes when they were real. I than ordered Jordan 3 A ma Maneire's that had the worst QC of them all. I had to put in for the craftsmanship warranty. Nike gave me the gift card in 2 weeks but it wasn't a gift card that I could use at a Nike store. Nike wants people to buy online so they don't see what they get and they can get away with selling shoes with bad QC. Nike makes the return policies for all the small authorized retailers that sell their sneakers. They even made Dicks Sporting Goods return policy the same way. You can not return or exchange Jordans you bought online. They say you have to return or exchange them in store but Dick's Sporting Goods doesn't carry retros on shelves. Nike is a scummy company. They have no transparency with their inventory and they force people to buy from resale where they are partnered up with Goat and Flight Club. Nike has been releasing exclusive releases on Goat and Flight Club while Flight Club only has a 1.3 star review score and Goat only has a 3.8 star review score at the same time Nike is suing StockX that has a 4.2 star review score and has admitted to selling fakes. Sneaker culture is a phase that people go through for several years when they are a kid. I was crazy about sneakers when I was 10 and I stopped being crazy about sneakers when I turned 15. I tried collecting sneakers like TH-camrs do and it's not even possible because of Nikes defect ratio and their limited availability. It's really hard to have more than 5 or 6 wearable sneakers. I own 7 pairs and 1 pair is fake. I once got 3 pairs of fakes in one month back to back. Don't believe the internet when it tries to tell you the average sneaker head has at least 25 pairs of sneakers. It's just not possible unless you social media influence for Nike and even then, The sneakers that you see in the background of some videos are borrowed or replicas. At the most a sneaker head will have really nice sneakers for every day of the week and a bunch of old ones. I don't know where the Internet got the idea the sneaker heads have 25 to 75 pairs of sneakers. Maybe resellers do. I am a sneaker head with about a pair of nice sneakers for everyday of the week and you can't really enjoy the sneakers you have if you have more than 3 or 4 pairs. When you have more than 5 pairs of sneakers in your rotation you can only wear a shoe a couple times a month
I had a similar thing happen to me, with a Nike x OFF-WHITE hoodie it came with a factory defect, all they could do was refund me not replace it 😭😭😭 so I kept the factory defect hoodie 😭

I don't see these on the launch calendar
Have the 2k18 pair fav btw also have the "ReImagined" CM3's so gotta snag a pair of these. The toebox does it for Me! Sleek & pointy ❤️'em 🤞🏽🤞🏽 get a matching pair with little to NO flaws or mistakes. ✌🏽

I got the 2018 pair with slight star loss I don’t know if imma go for these If I can get em for 85 bucks Worn once or twice I’ll grab them forsure but for retail Nawl 🤷🏾♂️⚠️⚠️⚠️
85 once or twice ?!😅😂 I highly doubt that
Unpopular opinion fire red 3 better than both
When need the black cat 3s ASAP
Wow those biceps 😍
I know you got a lot of shoes, but if i ever pull up on you in the Black Cement 3, i win :)
Olives clear these but I have them
hate em, okay, keep that same energy when they drop. I don’t wanna see you all scrambling to double down. Leave these for the real sneaker heads.
Where are your pants from?
These are no where near the ,88's the shape is still off and the elephant print on the tor is still too thick the reimagined white cements had a closer shape to the OG 88's
If you don't have the 2018 pair then you don't have anything to complain about
i think the greenglows are so close to this one that i dont need it .
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Bruh mine didnt even come with a hangtag
