Escaflowne was my first real anime outside of Dragon Ball Z. It’s a great show. I know you made this comment a year ago, but if you haven’t checked it out yet you should. It’s a bit of a slow start, there’s only one season and a movie. But God damn the pay offs are so good if it manages to peak your interest. It’s basically Gundam but medieval sci fi steampunk. It’s really really good.
Fully Agree! In-line with Akira, Robotech (Macross) Zentreadi, Robotec Masters, and Invid stories (that I watched as a kid early morning in the early 80's as TVepisodes), and Macross Plus. The hard part of loving all of these is finding any modern anime that equals any of these on all levels. I'm having serious difficulty.

This was actually one of the first videos I edited and I put a lot of work into trying to get all the scenes and cuts synced to the music. It’s really awesome that someone noticed it and enjoys it, years after I made it.
My brother showed me an amazing AMV of gundam. The video Is called *Gundam Plus - Information High.* He told me that was from like the year 1990. I saw that shit and was amazed, (yeah sure, the video was sped up, so frame rate felt pretty fluid, but still x) and I kinda asked the same question to your comment: *How come anime was "this" amazing back then, but nowadays there Is hardly ever nothing like that?*

It feels anime is so mainstream they pump out series without thought for a cash grab. 20 years ago it was teeny tiny studios and artists just trying to make a name for themselves trying to be noticed, pushing hard for a series they were proud of and wanted others to see and experience bringing it to life.
I understand the situation that everybody appreciate classic every now and then but sometimes you got to move on with the times you know I'm sure there's some old animated TV shows that might get a comeback not all the time but still I mean what you all of you think?
@@guccimalcs There are some diamonds in the rough for sure. And I think that's the way to go these days in a land of abundance. Vet through it and pick a rarity.
Good thing about the old is that you have tons and tons of stuff the old has that you probably have not seen yet. That's worth exploring. That is why we go back. The new is not going anywhere anytime soon. The old is buried treasure to find and tombs to explore.
Van’s first fight on the airship in the Escaflowne Movie was as jaw-dropping as Spike vs. Vincent in the Cowboy Bebop movie. So underrated.

I always loved and love the Anime series and the OVA. Great story, magical and epic and highly emotional.
