- Documentary about the flamboyant, charismatic and supremely talented Patrick Dupond, one of the great dancers of his generation. Introduced by Tommy Tune. A film by Andre S. Labarthe, 1988. Part 1 features an excerpt from the ballet "Coppelia" by Delibes, performed in Japan.

I remember Patrick Dupond's incredible manifestations of the Nijinsky roles. He plumbed the depths of that particular persona and generously brought us that true rarity unfiltered from the Past. It was an exquisite act of Pure Magic as was everything else Dupond performatively danced. Although the final product was a shambles, I wish someone would restore SHE DANCES ALONE (1981) where he is shown being mentored by Kyra Nijinsky, the great dancer's daughter. There has also got to be the final excised dance footage of Dupond from that eccentric effort SOMEWHERE in someone's archive. Always a singular favorite performer of mine, Dupond's sudden early death shocked and saddened me. Thank you for posting this.

secondo me e' stato uno dei piu' grandi danzatori del suo tempo,e non solo,la sua tecnica era sbalorditiva ed il suo carisma fenomenale ,io lo vidi a londra la prima volta nel suo cavallo di battaglia PETIT PAN poi molte volte in seguito ,in don q ,corsaro ed altro .petit pan e' su you tube lo guardi se non lo ha gia' visto .
