Yes, that's how the Beta is being measured but I believe we are almost at the point - if not already - when the normal, paper based exam becomes available. Do you plan on taking the Beta any time soon? If so, good luck and let me know how it was!! :D

Have you ever done CDI work Anna? Do you know why it pays so much more than coding? Like, is it all that different from coding - or is it just a career for kickass coders who specialize in optimization and know the system rules inside and out?
I have taken part in smaller CDI projects, but never done it full time. It pays so much more because besides coding and payment rules one also needs to know pathophysiology, compliance, pharmacology and tons of other stuff. This is why companies prefer hiring RN's and physicians to do it. And they demand higher salaries. CDI is different from coding, but it is fun. You have to keep an eye out for formalities and consistent documentation. Is everything noted, as it should be? Is everything signed? Are all diagnoses medically substantiated? Any treatment ordered without the corresponding diagnosis in the chart? (F.e. steroid cream without no apparent skin issue or chest X-ray on a patient with a broken leg etc.)
Hi J J! That is an excellent question. Based on posts I am seeing in the CDEI Facebook study group, I would say about 80% passed their beta. Are you thinking about taking this exam? I believe AAPC will make it available for purchase very soon.
Hi Valerie! Based on the outline of the CDIP and the syllabi for the CDEI and CDEO, I would say it should be enough. I don't guarantee you will score 100% on the CDIP, but the 2 courses from AAPC should give you a very strong foundation. Please review the content outline of the CDIP here: www.ahima.org/certification-careers/certification-exams/cdip/ . Also, I would definitely purchase the CDIP prep book to test myself, just to make sure. When do you plan on testing for the CDIP?

I’m thinking of taking CIC course in addition to CDEO and CDEI and then the CDIP. Would you recommend that route of passing the CDIP?

Now here is what I would do to make sure I don't spend more than necessary, but I am still ready: I would buy the CDIP prep book before I do anything. Review the domains and exam topics to see what I need to do. Then I would purchase the study guides from AAPC (not the courses) and read everything I can. Source material from online and from the AHIMA BoK. Then I would take the CDEO and CDEI mock exams and take the final exam from the CDIP book. All this would show me whether I need further education in any topic, and if so, where. It sounds more tedious than it is. :) Once you get started you will see a lot of repeating topics. Have you checked my out video out where I compare the CDEI and CDEO? To see what topics you are possibly looking at with the CDIP?

I took the BETA test and it was a paper test and you could use your coding books, and it has several coding questions 100 questions

Anna, I want to be certified as an AHIMA CDIP....My question is , by taking the the AAPC CEDI and CDEO programs will it prepare me for the AHIMA CDIP?
