Pretty sure the more versatile haircut is probably way harder for an average barber since you need to have pretty distinctive knowledge about hair, how it lays when both dry and wet, geometry of the particular head, hair texture! Great knowledge as always! It would be amazing if you can make a video specifically on volume and how to create in different textures of hair that is, thick, thin, thinning, coarse, curly, wavy!! This was a much needed video for me Andrew, thank you. One thing I'd like to ask is, my hair strands are thin and super straight while the windproof hair in your video has a natural curl to it. If I wanted a similar result to that, what is it about the structure of the haircut that makes it work for the example in your video and what would need to change for it to work on my type of hair?
Everything has to “connect” to everything else. You can’t leave any part of the haircut disconnected (suddenly longer than the hair next to it) or it’ll look like a step or a hole if it’s laying the wrong way (especially on very straight hair). I’d also try to leave everything long enough to bend freely, which is really going to be a different length for any given head considering the texture and growth patterns. If you’re going to go tight bear the bottom, make sure the hair is growing downward there (sometimes on the sides it can grow pretty straight forward or back, and sometimes at the nape it can grow in various directions around a cowlick) as this will allow those hairs to grow back gracefully- if the growth patterns are weird then leave those hairs long enough to bend and they’ll act nicely throughout the life of the haircut. Then finally, if the hair is texturized thoughtfully it can help coerce specific actions, even on straight hair, it can be the difference between hair popping up where you want it to and laying flat where you want it to.
So how to ask for hair like that not the specific blonde haircut but the windproof hair does it have to be long ?? Can u not get a fade with hair like that??
