- I like to keep things chill on the channel but there was no way to talk about a blessed WarGreymon versus Mugendramon without sounding like a little kid jumping up and down.
Digimon Adventure: 2020 Reboot sees Mugendramon vs the DigiDestined, the return of a ton of ally Digimon, an amazing moment for Taichi and an epic showdown.
What do you think happens next for Taichi and WarGreymon?

NOTE: my audio was not at its best this week. Tried a new recording format and it backfired by giving me worse quality. Darn. Sorry guys.
#digimon2020 #wargreymon #mugendramon
The main reason this episode was written was to give us the wargreymon vs Machinedramon fight we were denied in the original show… and it was AWESOME!!!
You have 0 evidence backing that up
Cloud Continent: *Exists*
Mugendramon: "and I took that personally..."
Also:
Cloud Continent: "Hi."
Machinedramon: "So anyway I started blastin!"
@@xDinomanx and thus a new Digimon meme is born...
He's probably looking at it, and screaming " You think you're better than me, because you can fly?"
Haha loving it
Holyangemon is certainly getting better treatment than the original series.
@yymenghis64 IKR?
Also, you're right about WarGreymon never losing a Dramon Breaker since Our War Game. What's fun is throwing the Dramon Breaker is an actual move called "Tate no Rocket" that's gone largely unused it looks like, until now (but it also went unnamed here, like Alterous Mode's Positron Blaster).
Honestly, I felt like they lost this one simply because of how far they had to go just to take Mugendramon down; mainly due to the Vademon self destructing their creation, Holy Wargreymon losing parts of himself just to win, and pratically everyone getting knocked down so quickly/badly. It shows that they are not ready for what's to come; I know they'll overcome it but still shows how threatening the enemy really can be. That being said, the episode was stronger for it and highlited the threat that is Millineumon, the Vademon cult, and any other threat that's going to arrive.
Side note: I didn't have a problem with the animation-fight since the budget is probably being saved for better episodes and given that this series was made close to if not around a national health crisis I can forgive a lot of the animation issues.
Yeah, this episode they were definately saving the budget up. Just like with the Devimon battle arc, this was a build-up episode.
So yes, Leomon finally confirmed as not dead which I figured from the get go way back when he and the resistance fighters disappeared into the massive typhoon shortly before the Chosen Ones arrived on the Continent has joined up with all other resistance fighters including Lopmon. The exposition that took place here was really good and Lopmon's words of warning really set the tension which was great.
Machinedramon ambushes the team and thankfully proves to be a massive threat. Also note, this is the first time the kids have all fought a mega-level digimon together (Tai and Matt have fought every other mega they've encountered together or individually). Not only that but Machinedramon COMPLETELY outclasses all of them, including Wargreymon and MetalGarurumon. I am very happy that they included the flashback to episode 24 with Metalgreymon's transformation to Machinedramon which was a great callback and what I had hoped for, it's just a shame that this didn't deliver the impact I wanted. How could it could've been to then reveal to the other Chosen Ones that "Oh snap! Agumon became that thing when we fought Devimon." Anyway, Angewomon powers up Wargreymon who along with Tai decides to make the "sacrifice" by trying to solo Machinedramon and drawing its attention away from the others to allow them time to escape to FAGA. It then culminates in a semi-epic last stand. In a way, this feels like Tai and Wargreymon handling what I would consider their demon being Machinedramon. It feels poetic. Sadly however the tension is kinda lost as we all know this is definately not the end for Tai and Agumon.
Sadly though, as much action this episode had was great, it was really letdown by the lack of great animation. The presentation of the episode was excellant, including Machinedramon who looked crisp. The animation though suffered and I felt like the fight would've been easily one of the best if it had great animation.
That being said I do agree, this is a build-up episode and that the best is yet to come. Milleniummon here we come!
I agree. Aside from Wargreymon fight scene the rest look lackluster. Other just there to make Wargreymon fight shine more. Basically a cannon fodder. The whole episode full with fight scene but sadly only Wargreymon have a great scene but I guess it something.
I agree. If only the fight scene had better animations, GODDAMN! This episode could have been so so great!
I love how Wargreymon just rips Machinedramon's claw out of it's chest and then proceeds to destroy him
I feel like Tailmon has now lost her power to evolve to Angewomon after giving her power to Taichi and Wargreymon. Angewomon disappeared like ashes when she transformed back to tailmon. that would explain the title of upcoming ep. PS it was nice to see Angwomon and Holyangemon together
Dang nice catch! I totally missed this interpretation
That might be why she digivolves into Nefertitimon in the coming episodes. Probably while she grieves Tai.
@@Mysticgamer dont know how will it work tailmon and Nerfetimon is somewhat on same level if she still got her holyring.
@@MrBionic26 If you go by the old rules that's true. But this series, gets around that by not explaining what the weird one time digivolutions are, they just put a bunch of question marks in the area that says level and then leave it at that.
@@MrBionic26 They're going to give Nefertimon a power-up.
Which makes sense, since Tailmon is an Adult-Level, Nefertimon should be a Perfect-equivalent, like Angewomon.
I think episode 48 was great. Machinedramon/Mugendramon proved to be a fantastic foe and the call backs you mentioned were very welcome. I'm a bit anxious to know the fate of not only Taichi and Wargreymon, but Cloud Continent itself. This was a great review ^-^
This was one of my favorite episodes! The team up and my boy wargreymon 😍
So I'm not ashamed to admit that it took me until I was watching this episode to get the joke that the Cloud Continent is in the sky.
Bro...
Dawg...
Dude...
Man....
that's not even the full joke... You know your cloud on your computer?
just like in the original digimon adventure there was FILE island and FOLDER continent
always computer puns, so i guess this is a double pun
The final scene reminds what happened during 5th chapter of Tri., where Kari also witnessed the similar scene. I think we should be gald that Tailmon was fell asleep this time... Get it?
This fight was fantastic, I'm glad they gave WarGreymon a great fight before temporarily "retiring" him lol. I agree about the animation of course. I really hope Agumon's Dark Evolution still gets delved into more.
In a way, Wargreymon solo'ing Machinedramon is very poetic in a lot of ways as it is literally the evil form Metalgreymon can become. So in a way it is a lot like MagnaAngemon defeating Devimon last week.
I wish they had put emphasis on the duality between WarGreymon and Mugendramon, like it was with Angemon and Devimon
@@xDinomanx I remember being like 8 years old and my friend told me Skullgreymon would evolve into MetalSkullGreymon. I felt betrayed when I found out it evolved into Mugendramon 🫤
This is WAY MORE IMPRESSIVE and way more emotional than Taichi's "death" in Tri. That felt a like a dumb death, and this one felt more impactful. Go 2020!
Tri tai death is little more better then 2020 tai death because we know 2020 tai not dead he got the holly digimon power
Still dumb how Wargreymon didn't jump off of Mugendramon to save himself. Instead he stays and stares like an idiot.
@@theonewhoismany8072 his wings or glider got thrown off and everything just happens so quickly maybe thats why
on Tri I was thinking: what is Tai doing by just jumping aimlessly around the debris?
Tai & Wargreymon got Gaia Forced. The irony. The beginning of the end. Let's go!!!!
For us old folk, Machindramon was one of the Dark Masters in the first season. AS for the speedy evolutions, I put it more to time restraint than anything else.
This episode had a good mood mugendramon’s Cannons were the coolest thing ever, The animation wasn't top tier but it gets me excited for next episode because they're probably saving their budget!
The animation looked like newgrounds shorts.
Last week I said that Mugendramon would be created from the data of the abiotic metal Digimon Sephirothmon had gathered and that of course meant the ones the Chosen had fought, the damaged data of Metal Greymon including the one instance he evolved to an incomplete Mugendramon. When Vademon talked about how Milleniumon hand picked certain data of digimon to create Mugendramon, there were flashes that showed the Digimon that makes up the components INCLUDING that one instance. My speculation came true and I am impressed with how accurate Mugendramon was in terms of size and power showing that he isn't the King of Machines for nothing and even Wargreymon stood no chance against it without that save from Angewomon.
The fight against Empowered Wargreymon and Mugendramon was brutal where Wargreymon was only able to beat it by focusing part by part starting by destroying the tail weapon, then tossing one of his Dramon Breakers into the right arm cannon. Mugendramon then ditched both of its' arms to charge at Wargreymon like a dinosaur and it was only after Mugendramon went firing its' Mugen Cannon at the Cloud Continent where Wargreymon got the jump on him with one last Gaia Force. All the while Mugendramon was doing a ton towards Wargreymon losing his shield, getting impaled, and left with only one Dramon Breaker after tossing his left one to destroy Mugendramon's arm cannon. What caught me off guard was that Mugendramon was installed with a nuclear self-destruct measure which I thought was unexpected. Vademon said Mugendramon was one of the answers to the strongest Digimon and no doubt the other one they were creating was the accumulation of data from biotic digimon Sephirothmon and Mugendramon just gathered aka Chimeramon.
What makes me extremely happy is that we have finally come full circle.
Machinedramon's debut was in the first Digimon World game based on the Tamagochi like games.
The original Infinity Canon was powerful beams of energy that did look as if Machinedramon's (Infinitymon's) energy truly was infinite.
However the anime and subsequent games that took their inspiration from the first anime, dumbed this down to Giga Canon, what ended up just being generic energy orbs, limited energy.
Its so good to see him finally returning to his roots and shoot true Infinity beams from his canons.
It would not surprise me if his tail lasers were also derived from the "All range beam" attack from the first game.
My initial reaction....
Part 1 - ok yeah its getting hype
Part 2 - O ssshhh.. Got real
Part 3 - why they split up.. Seems like they could have stayed together
Part 4 - 😳
BEST EPISODE SO FAR
There's three punches in mugendramon's tail, two bigger ones and a smaller one which i think means taichi was punching through as well
I am glad they confirmed MachineDramon/MugenDramon as the Strongest Digimon at this point (which it was in the episode). The Logic behind the Millennium has been always creation of a Digimon which even surpass MachineDramon's power by absorbing its Data + Kimeramon (a digimon which is the combination of Digidestined's Digimon + and some of their dark evolutions such as Devimon + SkullGreymon, ).... This explains why Machinedramon was getting everyone's data... I am super satisfied with the episode since my two favourite Digimon (Mugendramon and WarGreymon) fought to the end...
I'm pretty sure millenniumon also contains monochromon data
@@themostbritishpersonalive868 yes Kimeramon has Monochromon's tail :)
And get this right? Milleniummon's bio basically states that he was formed from a Kimeramon and a dieing Machinedramon. Appropriate given the current circumstances.
This is how the final battle with Mugendramon should have been in the OG season💖
Yeah I rewatched the original fight after this episode and I was laughing at how it’s hardly a fight 😬
@@thedigiknow initiate plan "Elimin-8"
Part of me is hoping that Hikari thinking she lost her brother, will put her in such despair that part of Angewomon will turn into Ladydevimon and possibly Lilithmon.
Nah. It will be Ophanimon Falldown Mode.
@@alexsttham3156 That’s not as interesting as Ophanimon vs Lilithmon.
yay you're back!!! Good to know, happy for you! Can't wait to hear your thoughts on last week!
I think the purpose of destroying that other continent was just to continue the absorbing data portion or maybe it's actually was to provoke Wargraymon at the end.
I find the idea confronting your darkness an interesting subject shown better in the reboot. Either way, solid review 👌
Congratulations for surviving the copyright strike! :) Now we need the latest review of last week's Episode 😁
We're definitely gonna see Chimairamon next episode. And the helmet they showed at the end was 100% Millenniumon's normal Jogress form.
Also, does anyone know which Digimon it was with the white body and red/yellow eye? Doesn't look familiar.
It looks like it's chimairamon being created, the white bubble wing looks like angemons. So I think it's the form coming together.
The digiknow: “I don’t know how they’d survive”
Me: plot armour
That s@#^ will survive anything.
@@ninetailsofthesun279 facts
They already survive with Eaglemon attack. This is just a tip of the iceberg.
Thanks for this video; I meant to check out the reboot, but never got around to it.
Still, watching the the project Mouthwash abridges somehow brought me here and now knowing that it addresses the Japan only games lore, I certainly want to check it out.
They should have given MetalGarurumon some more screen time and dialogue. At least showing him cover fire while evacuating the other digidestined to safe instead of bluntly standing there looking
wargreymon kicking some mugendramon ass is my new favorite episode, up there with the first appearance of omnimon and episode 30.
Soooo are we not gonna discuss how Leomon ACTUALLY LIVED!
I honestly at one point during the fight thought Wargreymon would lose his other gauntlet and use the claw that was stuck in him like a sword as a reference to Victory Greymon or even see Victory greymon but then I thought nah that would not be fair to the others since he already also gotten Blitz Greymon but the fight at the end was still fire, I don't think we ever in a show saw a digimon just break its armor so much like wargreymon did here
I really liked the episode.
Well, from a script point of view it was quite poor, but what I expected above all was a rematch worthy of the name between Wargreymon and Mugendramon, and despite the rather weak animation, I was not disappointed.
They're reusing Hikari's power-up, why not.
In the original series it only allowed Agumon to evolve, but here the emphasis is really on the fact that his power increases.
And despite that, Mugendramon is the first opponent to really challenge Wargeymon with a pretty impressive variety of attacks.
His cannons, his tail that shoots lasers, his retracting claw (which impales WG), his other cannon in his arm, and finally his bomb that he uses at the end of the episode to avoid the 2-0.
Wargreymon is not left out, I liked the fact that he uses his shield (unfortunately it's too rare), and the part where he directly sends his Dramon Killer into Mugendramon's arm was also very cool.
And of course Western's face-to-face was also wildly classy.
Looks like Tai won't be participating in the fight against Milleniummon, by the way.
what a satisfying battle, feels like it redeemed the original from 1999.
it was awesome this machinedramon is sooo much better
So we made it to endgame final boss fight time for Digimiracle and power ups this episode was all Action an plot everybody putting in work but tai and Matt had to go mage the mage cut scenes were awesome can wait to see everyone else get there's hopefully tai ok
This fight was awesome af compared to the manga 😀👏👏🔥🔥🔥
Congrats for hitting 10K!
And I am not sure how Tai and Agumon will survive but I am sure there will be a way.
It would have been a good power move if HolyAgemon used his gate of obliteration move under Machinedramon
Mugendramon was too big to get in the gate...Besides, he can't make big gates
@@brodulofficial6354 I wasn't aware there was a size limit lol
Did not know Wargreymon had fingers.
With what Tai said about Matt taking over it looks like Joe isn't the leader in anyway like previously thought.
Who thinks Joe is the leader besides himself ?
1 word Savage!!! Wargreymon!!!
Me: how they will survive?
Tai: Plot Armor Energize!
Man I said this over at based digimon channel but I don’t think classic Millenium mon isn’t gonna be his final form for the series... but a dark omegamon version and the big fight might be omegamon the dark vs alter mode
You mean the creepy black Omegamon?
The ostrich mechadramon charging actually made me laugh. It was a great episode, no deus ex victory. Everything used in the battle was shown before.
I really think Tai will end up with Leomon and Lopmon because why bring them into the show now for? The next two episodes do look interesting but I just don't know if much will happen next episode.
Digimon 2020:SO YOU DON'T LIKE TAICHI SCREEN TIME??
THEN NO MORE TAICHI!!!
awesome recap!
I'm praying we get
Puppetmon vs MetalGarurumon
Piedmon
MetalSeadramon
Also I really hope this is going the VictoryGreymon and ZeedGarurumon route as well as BlitzGreymon and CresGarurumon, because it was specifically said that
Millenniummon was interested in the Data of the Digimon that beat him in the past. So he has the Data for MetalGarurumonand WarGreymon which enabled will continue to help beat the children.
I said it once I'll say it again
BlitzGreymon
CresGarurumon
Magandramon
Goddramon
Are going to be key because Millenniummon wont have data on them.
Wargreymon Ultra Instinct Mode
Not gonna lie when wargreymon pulled out the spike in his chest I thought he was gonna digvole to victorygreymon...glad I was wrong, but amazing fight, the animation isn't the best but it's the shots that count and the badass moments like wargreymon's brave shield falling or throwing his dramon killer.
congrats on 10k
I've been waiting for your video
I tell you: They are using the Wargreymon as a base for chimeramon-Milleniumon and they all pretty much have to fight a brainwashed, repurposed Wargreymon with Milleniumon inside.
I also say that Diaboromon is another one of the "answers", which will most likely see towards the ends, with a big fight against Omnimon for the finaly.
I also lost any hope for Cresgarurumon and Omnimon Alter-S appearing in this show at this point. It looks like Blitzgreymon was just a one Episode Fanservice moment with no budger behind it (seeing as how bad the animation on him was).
Finally I do hope we won't see Taichi and Agumon too soon! I am glad they are gone for the moment and hopefully the other kids can now finally blossom and shine fully!
I have to rewatch the episode, but I could have sworn they heavily implied, if not outright stated, that Mugendramon was copied from the partner digimon's battle data while inside Sephirotmon. Not that they couldn't have made upgrades, I suppose.
OK, I rewatched it, and I guess I did miss a bit. Looks like MetalGreymon's first transformation was not the complete Mugendramon, but Milleniummon (and/or his cronies) combined it with other metal digimon's data to form Mugendramon (much like the lore stated).
"Holywar" Greymon. Nice.
Loved this episode. Finally had some real progression after about 15 episodes, rather than just some fun individual episodes. Still trying to get used to the idea of machinedramon being so badass as compared to the original where he was just one of the chump Megas used to build up Piedmon. lol those blasts were crazy.
I love how brutal fights in this show are
It's so confusing for me about the size of these digimon in this new series. Wargreymon isn't such a giant creature in the original version, more like only 2 1/2 times the size of Tai. Weregarurumon as well. Garudamon seems small, in the original version she's the biggest with Alturkabuterimon.
Machinedramon is like 6 times bigger than Wargreymon here , crazy.
I mean in a way it makes sense that Mugendramon is huge. Mugendramon is a huge mechanical dragon after all!
@@momega7189 What I mean is that when you have Wargreymon that big which Tai can sit next to his ear (he used to hold on his back in the original series) and then Machinedramon is way bigger than Wargreymon, that's super insane. Back in Digimon Tri Machinedramon is big but not THAT big
@@eamoneamons I guess different series = different scaling.
@@eamoneamons The show creators were probably influenced by Gigantamax or Dynamax.
The battle on the end was great. Also seems like Kimeramon might be in a weaken state yet still powerful compared to the kids
That's Milleniumon not Kimeramon
Wargreymon was a total beast in that one on one fight with Machinedramon!
I was waiting for that remaining gauntlet to turn to a sword
vademon said that they used data from digimon to make Mugendramon you can see that Mugendramon has the chest cannons and tridet arm from metalgreymon and has the arm blaster from metaltyrannomon. also its possible that Mugendramon the digimon didnt exist yet and they used the data from that rage mode from metalgreymon make him. it would explain why Mugendramon dosen't disintegrate when parts of body are gone he is a machine not a digimon
A hell of a fight in this episode, escalated quite quickly. Liked the thing with Wargreymon's gauntlet. But what about the participation of Holyangemon in the fight? only to cut one of the red beams?
i think taichi's "death" will lead to the expected real world episode.
Good guess! Maybe he gets ejected from the digital world and has to find a way back?
I don't know if you will reply but I'm new and love the channel but wanted to ask if you have another channel or if not but would you ever open digimon products like the digimon battle spirits cards or the digimon card game or digivices
THIS IS WHY WARGREYMON IS HIM
Since your name digiknow , I will ask random Questions out of the blue
Vmon as we know can evolve to magnamon or ultraforceVdramon and digimons evolve from time to time, now my questions are
1- can there be 2 Magnamon ?
2- will there be an army of royal knights ?
3&4- what would yagedrasil do with the extra ones ? Do 1 group dies and another takes it's place ?
Do you think, maybe wargreymon go beyond and transform in VictoryGreymon? On this reboot we seen a lot of variations of digivolution.

I really love how it shows how strong Wargreymon Gaia Force is, I mean it took TWO attacks from Mugendramon to completely defeat Gaia Force, this really shows how strong Wargreymon is IMO
as i watch the episode carefully..mugendramon didn't even want to fight with them.. he just focusing to attack the cloud continent with his canon..and he just sit there and don't even walk.. what i really want to say is that mugendramon didn't pull out a good fight with the kids.. and I don't get why it so hard to dodge the laser .. I hit = K.O lol doesn't make any sense
I'm new here,
Is it Wargreymon and Metalgarurumon seem gigantic in this series?
They do! No lore given explanation but so far all the megas look giant. If you want, you can dig back to my episode 5 review and I put up a screenshot from that episode where they show the silhouettes of the megas and they’re all giant like power Ranger Zords :P
The cloud continent falling into the main area wear they were could potentially leave a hole large enough to where the vademon could easily get in and out of the crystal area idk what it would mean but maybe if chimeramon is defeated out of the hole comes millenniumon's crystal which does actually have a digivolution, meaning we could be seeing all the data mugendramon absorbed be used for a last ditch effort evolution by millenniumon but it's just speculation
Also yes i realized I used the wrong form of where
Fuck I don't know if I'm just a Wargreymon fan but it made me teary when he exploded and the others see it.
So this version of Digimon Adventure return to the Anode//Cathode storyline; I wonder if season two has Ryou as main character-partnered with Agumon...
Isnt Millenniumon a fusion/jogress evolution of Mugendramon & Chimeramon..?
Kinda makes sense that he showed up here..
"Decapitating Mugendramon by drilling through his mouth"...uhh, wasn't that basically how Wargreymon took out Metalseadramon in the original Digimon Adventure? Seems to be his thing when he ain't slinging massive orange balls at folks.

WARGREYMON vs MACHINEDRAMON rematch
Reboot Rematch
Vademon said that Mugendramon is one of the strongest digimons they’ve created using the data collected by Sephirothmon...imagine how strong the other product might be lol now that’s terrifying 😩
Also, I guess the “unexpected ultimate evolution” triggered by all of the digimon’s prayers in ep. 50 will be the Holy Digimons: Cherubimon and/or HolyAngemon’s evolution. Tailmon’s so exhausted she won’t be able to evolve into Angewomon.
It will be 2 of the 4 Great Dragons. Holydramon for Tailmon,Goddramon for Patamon.
i really hope the other dark masters digimon (esp puppetmon) make some appearance.
this might not happen but what if season one is setting up millenniumon so if they have a adventure 02 reboot they can have kimeramon and they then can make mugendramon and kimeramon fuse to get millenniumon just a theory though
Milleniumon is the villan for this season
I still cant seem to understand how big Megas are!!! I dont think Taichi could ever stand on Wargreymon like that on the original series.
Dayyuummm
I don't know why there's a lot of people who not liking this reboot. I love that we actually have fights instead of one hit kills like the original series always did.
Mainly because the focus is very Matt, and especially Taichi heavy. It's less the Digi-Destined journey and more of Tai and Matt's adventure, featuring the Digi-Destined.
@@Muriuki34 yeah that is a good point that was actually one of my main gripes of the original digimon movie where it focus on Matt and Tai and izzy but all the others didn't really have a role.
In the movie wargreymon loses his destroyers on his arms. It was against Diabormon (wrong spelling)
So it's Tai's show after all. I noticed that when machinedramon hit all the ultimates, all of them returned to their rookie forms except (who else) Metalgreymon. Then i expected from our two megas to fight TOGETHER machinedramon but metalgarurumon did NOTHING. But i have to admit the fight was really good.
Now that Tai is temporarily out of the picture, I want to see the other Digidestineds to actually do something. MetalGarurumon should also be given more moments because, honestly, we haven't even seen him do anything remotely close to any of WarGreymon's showings in this series.
@@akaneriyun4774 And that is why Wargreymon was taken out first. Take out the strongest digimon and then kill the rest. Vademon also gets rid of one of the components to make a bigger threat (Omegamon).
