Excellent description of why this transom is better than the other players open one. Exactly why I am looking at Truekit as well. Good video mate. thanks.

Another reason I personally did not like the open transom design is that I store most of my loose equipment (anchor, shoes, food, cooler, towels, gear bag, etc.) between my back seat and the transom of my inflatable. Having an open transom just didn't make any sense to me whatsoever.

Just ordered mine! Like you I did a massive amount of research and this boat ticked all the boxes for me. Nice review. Good luck.

Great video! True Kit appear to always be looking for changes and improvements to their boats. Amongst the changes brought about since your video was made, are that they now only supply a single seat with this 330 boat and the transom is made from aluminum, which is supposed to be lighter and stronger, rather than marine ply, shown in your video. There are also 400 and 280 versions of the Discovery available. I am hoping to acquire a 400 next year. Can't wait!!

yup.. totally right, I'll need to do an update video (coming soon) with some new things I've done this year on the TK. The marine ply has held up, and easier to drill into (maybe?) for transom wheels ;)

Good unboxing. Thx. I've been looking at this boat for a while now. Haven't pulled the trigger yet. I hear there's a 4 meter coming out soon so I may wait for it. Congrats on the new boat. Enjoy it...

Thanks for the like! You may want to weigh pros and cons of having a slightly larger heavier boat that needs a larger outboard engine. I believe it will go up to 20hp. Then it depends on whether you're lugging around the boat and the larger engine. Ymmv

@@andrewmichael219 There should be plenty of room for 2. The max I had was 4 people on my 330 (rowing, no motor) but I guess for fishing 2 is the max.

@@axscdvfb my friends had 5 (2 adults, 3 preteen kids) in my 330/Tohatsu 9.8, and it was chugging along. Definitely not sufficient room to comfortably fish, but it does perform well. Two adults can absolutely have fun fishing with plenty of room

Thanks for the video's and info. Ours arrives in about two weeks (330 Grey). 95% freshwater so went with the Mercury 5HP propane (also weight). Hope it will plane well but mostly for trolling & fishing. Time will tell. Went with the wheels and bimini top too. Have you looked at either and what was your thought process...if you don't mind me asking.
Any other words of wisdom would be appreciated!.

Howdy. Thanks for the like. Congrats on the boat, you will love it! My focus was the lightest inflatable for my family of 4 and an outboard to match, both of which I can carry myself. This was ideal, paired with my Tohatsu 9.8. Unfortunately 2-stroke are not available in the US, so hence went with that. I also maximized Railblaza ports and didn't even think about the bimini top. Can you share more info on it? Re: tips, I'd say get a rope for the front (see Rod's or RokKit videos), pay a lot of attention to how the boat was packed, so you can repack, and play with weight distribution. It's very funny how the boat wiggles when it's just 2 ppl vs 4, and the dynamics change a lot. Finally, join the subreddit /r/Truekit and post some pics :)

@@daddyshark1174 thanks for the response. Joined the reddit group now need to learn how to use it:)
The bimini top was from Leader but purchased from Amazon. Good quality and looks like it will fit fine. I needed 4 stroke for mountain lakes (eco) and went propane because I plan packing the motor and boat into the crew cab. Didn't want the gas smell while traveling. Hope the 5HP will be enough. We shall see...

@@Gpic-2323 I have an 11' catamaran (different brand) with a 4hp (converted to 6 with 6hp carb) that simply will not plane at mountain elevations (minimum altitude I run at is 5000+ feet). Great video, thanks for the info. You stated that the boat shipped direct so it was cheaper but when I tried to order mine, shipping to the states was almost $500 bucks! That's not cheap for shipping man, at least not for me😄 if I'm missing something please educate me, this boat is exactly what I'm looking for, thanks again!

Check to be sure it is US dollars for shipping cost. I was seeing the same number and contacted True Kit. I was told the New Zealand currency amount popped up. Shipping to California would be $350. Still too steep for me.@@cchang326
