When I did my first knife I had a warp in it. I tried to straighten it with the 3 pin method and blue backing it. Broke it obviously but I went back to the grinder and turned into a 1.5” blacksmith knife. Now I always try to straighten on the 2nd and 3rd temper cycle. Had a lot of luck yesterday quenched a fillet knife I’m workin on and it warped but the angle iron directly out of quench straightened it.
A moose walked in my garage while I was grinding a blade once. It’s common for them to loiter around the neighborhood but holy hell that spooked the life out of me!
Hi Tony, well, for a guy who doesn’t consider himself a Leathercrafter, you make some really beautiful sheaths! Not only these, but others I saw in your other videos. Really nice leatherwork. I love the smell of vegetable tanned leather... Thumbs up! Since you offered making a video about making/installing Bolsters, I would certainly be one of those interested in seeing it done. So if you ever shoot one, I'll sure watch it. Have a nice day! Hopefully, a not too hot one...
Thank you my friend. I try to do the best I can but there are much better craftsmen than myself. I appreciate the kind words and I hope you stay cool today as well. 🙂
@@TonySeverioKnives You shoot faster than your shadow Tony, I think I was still modifying my original comment when you answered, sorry. l was adding that I would be interested in seeing the bolster work if you ever shoot a video about it. Again, sorry I modified my comment while you were answering...
Outstanding video, Tony! Always educational, and entertaining content! Sorry about your AC UNIT, but you're so cool, you probably don't need it anyway! Thanks for sharing, my brother! 💯🔥🙏🏻😎👍🏻
Not for me brother. When it’s 100 plus with humidity like we have here is south Louisiana it’s hard to do good work in a closed room. I’ve worked in Arizona in 105 heat and it’s no comparison to here. I hate summer time. 😂. But I’m working on the bolsters and handle stuff vid now. 🙂🙂
@@TonySeverioKnives Yeah southeast Georgia here, that’s why I feel your pain. No insulation in mine so my tiny window unit only covers about 4 feet in front of it. At least during summer my son would open the doors before I got home from work, now he’s in school 🥵
@justingoodman5600 it’s painful brother. I’m so ready for a hard freeze! I’m going to put two mini splits in my shop when I get the money. Got some more mods to do as well but they will come first. 😁
There’s always something happening in the shop unexpected. What are some of your experiences?

Yep there’s always a risk for sure. 🙂

lol that’s a good one! 😂😂😂
Great fun, Tony! Thanks!
Thank you my friend 🙂
Keep up the good work Tony. I always look forward to seeing your videos.
Thank you my friend. I really appreciate the support! 🙂
Bravo Tony! looking good and picked up a tip or 2 watching the leather- thanks! Be safe and enjoy your weekend!

Thank you my friend, I appreciate it! I’m only bringing 7 or 8 but I just love being around makers, seeing old friends and making new ones. 🙂
Great video, i would like to see the jigged bone handle in progress and completion, thanks for sharing.
Thank you! Will do. 🙂

Great job my friend and you're wrong about not being a leather craftsman 👍
Thank you brother, I appreciate it. 🙂🙂
Really good advice on the tool rest. I'm sure you may have answered this question before, but what type of belt sander do you use?
Thanks! I use a couple old Baders that I’ve had too many years to admit. 😂
@@TonySeverioKnives OK, I appreciate the response. Please keep making great content.
Will do. Thanks for watching 🙂
Ok... how can I not subscribe to a man who enjoys watching 'The Hobbit'?
Ha, thanks! 🙂🙂

So many people ask me to make them knives in the middle of summer. Nope. Its hotter than two rats F****** in a wool sock outside.
