  • WHAT IF POCHETTINO STAYS AS CHELSEA MANAGER FOR 24/25 SEASON... I've said that I don't think Pochettino is the right manager for Chelsea FC. However, If Pochettino remains Chelsea manager going into the 24/25 season, what does he need to change? Let me know your thoughts on Pochettino remaining Chelsea manager going into the 24/25 season!

We realize our team is currently rebuilding but yet dont have the patience to go through the rebuilding process. To expect Poch to get this team to top 4 with this current squad is ludicrous. It took years for Arteta to get arsenal back it wont happen overnight at chelsea. We need to stop this carousel and have some stability at coach for once.

Tbf ur ludicrous… wat I personally expect from poch… is a better training regime where the players don’t have to get run into the ground… that can also help prevent less injuries… I wanna see him make subs at the right time around the 60th min maybe instead of like 80th… I wanna see him choose a good logical lineup… we played so good without enzo in the Everton game for him to then come straight back in da lineup?? Enzo was injured for how long this szn as well??? Juss a lot of stupid things have happened that rlly comes down to poch… but yeah we should keep him and let him run down his contract

@@DutyDynamorealistically mate the injuries aren’t his problem, we had this issue long before he came. Substitutions I can back, but he has also shown to have good in game management in some games, like the Villa game just gone. Some lineups have been dodgy but that mainly falls down to injuries and having no other options. Without Enzo who else do we have in that position? It’s all well and good saying Gallagher now, but no one rated him in the 8 before these last few weeks so he can’t win? I’m not fully sold on Poch but we’d be crazy to sack him now and waste a whole year of progress. We’re improving and we need time to get even better. But most importantly we need to sack the medical team and sort out that problem. Imagine we had a fully fit 11 like Arsenal have all season? No way we’d be in this position

George, I admire this story, there is a lot to learn looking at the training regimes. However, I can feel in my bones that something is really bubbling under the water.
You must see it too, and we must thank Poch for creating this vibe. We all know that this looks like a good team it just needs time and I think Poch will continue building.
You yourself said Caicedo had the best game in a Chelsea shirt, Conor Gallagher can be our Captain for another 5 years, Enzo will be massive when we emerge. So there you have it, best midfield, full stop. Such a pity we got rid of Kova, and even Barkley, they could have really taught these young guys a lot. Scrap the stuff about centre forwards we've got enough. Jackson will do for 10 years, he's playing like Havertz already. Gusto, Chilly, Alfie, Cucurella, James a squad of attacking fullbacks the envy of every club in the EPL and every one of them ready to die for our shirt.
Sort out the central defenders (it's coming), sort out the wide-outs, and leave Palmer where he is. This is a great looking team for the future.
So for me, unlike you, although the COnference League might seem mundane, to give a young squad the experience in travelling constantly, with a heavy fixture load, and international football, often playing against teams coached to a really high level. Bring it on, let them learn together.
    Just my thoughts.

It's easy to find excuses for Poch, Nicholas Jackson has been missing sitters the whole season, the squad has been plagued with injuries, but he's had a few stinkers that are inexcusable. Playing Chilwell as a winger in the beginning of the season and Colwill as a left back, even though he got skinned game after game after game, not even giving Maatsen a chance to pay as a left back, while he is now in a Champions League semi final, not telling categorically to the owners that we need at least one more striker with Jackson for the second part of the season, when we have Broja and Fofana on loan, not giving Mudryk starts in the games after he scores, not using Madueke enough even though he's pkayed well most of the time he's had the chance to, not using Chukwumeka enough while Gallagher playing 90 min as a number 10, etc. But his greatest chokes are the Carabao cup loss to an academy Liverpool team and the total humiliation against Arsenal after such a spiritless performance. Those two things make you wonder if Poch has what it takes to be a top-level coach.

Poch has progressed this squad with the most injuries any squad has had. Injuries aren’t new, poch has been patient bringing them back even with pressure from fans. We were 12th last year, we’re almost certainly not finishing below 8th this season. Scored 38 goals last season and although at the detriment of defending this season , we have now scored 63 so far this season. When we play the big teams we generally have matched or been better with the exception of Arsenal and Liverpool away. The problem is you either are in denial and expecting the standards of yester year without any reason to expect that from the youngest squad in Europes top 5 leagues. Or you are in reality, and can see this has been progress this year , things are still not perfect , the manager has publicly said what he needs is the experience to add to the youngsters. You all want him sacked but because that become the popular narrative which was always coming whenever he lost a game because of his spurs roots. He’s building something, rivals want us to fail. We keep ripping up and starting again, players , managers in future will never come. And we will only ever see the odd trophy rather than the dominance we want to replicate like Man City. Stick with the manager

I think blaming Poch is completely wrong. Lack of experience in the dressing room is what needs addressing. You listen to Lampard, Terry, Drogba or numerous others from the past 20 years, the slightly older experienced players set the tone. They regulated the dressing room, set standards, let the young players know what it means to play for the club. Who does that when the whole dressing room is these young players needing guidance? That's why you see the penalty fiasco and the outbursts at full time against Villa, the manager cannot control everything 100% of the time, you need need leaders in the dressing the room making sure the culture is maintained.

I think we should expand our squad to between 28 and 30 knowing that one third of that list won’t be available for the season😂. Players like Hutchinson, Santos, Hunphries some academy boys and maybe Jackson if we get a proper striker can be useful to prosecute the early stages of the conf league and also serve as back up for next season. We can’t do the whole season with 25 player squad we currently run. We need to expand a bit more with some quality youngsters who can also step in for EPL games when we have injuries. Maybe with the players getting a full pre- season and some of the players come back from injury we can then see where Chelsea are at. This could turn out to be a good decision.

If you look to the past, many of the managers at the club were liked by the players, but once results stopped happening the heads of the club made the decisions, even when the players still played for them.

Tuchel, honnes, amorim, Alonso, mourinho and many others so by the time we panic and realise thing's are actively getting worse under the spurs man we're gonna go panic and go get some mediocre manager who Roman would never have hired. Never forget potch said this season he wants to have his players feel like they're playing 3 games a week with how intense his training is and now we have an injury crisis and let's not forget when he said trophies don't mean anything they only build egos that's who you guys want to keep. Pochettino's inconsistencies:
Jackson's scoring struggles but still selected as a starting #9 with tons of minutes. No shift away, no lack of supply, no early substitution or change in the field of play.
Mudryk struggles and his supplyvis immediately cut off. A lost, lonesome player even when free, his teammates refused to pass. Eventually subbed off. A systemic change in style of play. A new corridor of possession.
Fernández has been struggling to run, pass, shoot, defend or properly link with Caicedo. No changes from Pochettino until the newbies demise in the error prone Arsenal game. Now he has had a hernia surgery on is on his way to recovery.
Cucurella has had several issues at LB. Again selection, playing time, substitutions like Jackson's case have gone unparalleled. Until the first half in the Villa game where hw was repeatedly found wanting by Bailey. No bench or academy player tried. To protect Cucurella, he was reassigned an inside midfield role. Where he was closer to the other HM's and sheltered from the disaster out way left. Yet Chelsea let Hall and Maatsen leave on loans. Players who definitely help in time of need.
Then there is the ongoing controversy about the best CB pairings and same for RB with Gusto on the injured list. Is it Chalobah/Silva or Disasi/Badiashile or Colwill? Well aware of the limitations of Disasi as RB or Colwill or Badiashile struggles as LB's.
No solution yet for LAM or striker. Madueke is showing some possibilities as a RAM. But does he show up for 90 mins each game and hold up his defensive responsibilities?
Pochettino it's: Meandering press conferences, bizarre starting 11's, very late substitutions, slow 1 st and 2 nd half starts, being perceived as reactionary vs proactive.

If Poch has to stay which is looking more likely, alot has to change and first 3 months of new season will be very important.
First he needs to change the style of play if there is a style actually..A lot of Chelsea games, there is lack of control just end to end..The reason we do well against top teams is they will not sit deep and counter so we just run run run..The smaller team sit deep and do not give space. We do have to pass the ball more and have movements not just one player run run and run.Poch is all about quick transition nothing else.
Also Gallagher must not be our playmaker for next season. He can sit deep with Caicedo and Poch must find a system for that but to play him behind striker or were he needed to see passes, give assists and all that is just rubbish..He is not a talented footballer just a good athlete. Were he played this season, you have to have a good first touch, use the ball well in tight spaces and also see pases in quick time and he is non of that.
Finally Jackson must not and should not on the first day of next season come out from the tunnel as our no9.

Example on the championship league win season, under Lampard at the beginning of season we had a long list of injuries, when Tuchel came in we had less injuries, but more important players came back as quick as they can to get the opportunity to play.

We have a conversion problem from Jackson and we have a wing problem from Mudryk. Pochettino doesn't want to bench Jackson for Deivid washington despite his awful misses.
Then why can't he use Jackson as a left winger, and play Mudryk as a false 9. Both players may perform better if their roles are switched. Mudryk plays better playing straight at goal, Jackson plays better from the wing.
    Simple solution.

Do I think we will win something with Poch?
I doubt it, but I feel he can still provide us with stability for a future manager.
There were tactics changes from the whole season so saying he didn't adapt is wrong.
We were good defensively and lame attack in the first games, then he adapt to make as better in attack and we started leaking goals, in both periods different players got injured and affected us.
So saying he didn't adapt is wrong, might not be the best approach. We are also had bad with injuries, If Nkunku was fit in the first game we might gotten more points as pre season we were good.
One more season and we can just not renew contract if we do not progress and start looking for other type of managers, sacking him from 1 season where we almost reach 2 finals and beside Liverpool and Arsenal away, we did actually play good against the Top 6.

Let poch build his own team. yes he couldnt do it a psg but managing and having to balance divas like neymar is a completrly different to task to building your own young team. Lets back him for at least a season. I'd much rather him that Potter, and tbh, i think hes a better character than Tuchel. Tuchel notoriously falls out with players, this guy ranted on Kane a couple times this year as if he was Bayerns problem, not the new record goalscorer. Poch is better for a young squad, lets demonstrate that we Chelsea can have a bit of patience, we lost 6-0 to city under Sarri and still won Europa. And i'd still rather have poch than Sarri off character alone. Poch really wants this he celebrates every goal like a fan thats the type of passion we want. Lets back him for another year with his own choices
