Yo, I watched your video this morning and interviewed 4 hours later (2nd stage) and they asked 1: Tell me about yourself, I already had my one. 2. Design process, I knew this but couldn't articulate it like you but I memorised your answer beforehand and when they asked, I just said it like you. Me covering it like you basically covered a whole lot, they did ask on how I get feedbacks and I said in the testing phase and also user research that had been done by the company. I'm like you, got Html/CSS JavaScript skills and they just asked a couple of things, also if I've used mysql before which I have. 3. They also asked Where I see myself in 3 to 5 years, I didn't use your example because I think some companies would frown on you trying to jump ship, I used this th-cam.com/video/wl5E_G3yBKA/w-d-xo.html Word for word. They ask me the next big thing and I said Augmented Reality. I was supposed to hear back from them on a Friday, they got back to me less than an hour later. Your video was really really helpful. It gave me confidence. Thanks so much 🔥👊🏾. I'm subbing.
I can't thank you enough Kayung, got 3 offers from product based companies! I tailored the answers a bit to my needs but kept the overall structure and in a couple interviews I had these exact questions asked to me.
Thanks for so much.. Your this interview session really helped out me to get Ux designer job. I couldn’t believe they followed same pattern as you told here. Thank you alot 🙏🏻
Thank you so much for this amazing video. I have a product designer interview tomorrow and the way you've explained things is amazing and so articulate. I'm taking notes and writing down my experiences and how I'd answer these questions so I feel more prepared. This is awesome and truly helpful!
Hey, I really like your video. I have few most asked questions other than what you have covered in the video: 1. What are the biggest challenge you have faced till now? 2. What is your biggest achievement so far? 3. How do you handle a situation when your team members do not agree on the designs you have made? I have interviews lined up this coming week, hope to get your answer soon!
Hey~ your 1 and 2 are very personal, I don't think I can answer that for you.. as for your #3, check out my point "how do you handle feedback. Good luck with your interviews!
Thank you so much, pal. This video is the gem of my life. The way you described was wonderful and also this helps me to connect one point to another. I watched your video earlier this month and interviewed later. Most things happened as you mentioned in this video. I got back their reply sooner. Thank you so much.
i was lost , but now im so confident that im going to make it 8) , but i do have a question , so they are not going to ask about specific topics in design like google material design and the difference between ux and ui , and also ux research framework and methods? thanks in advance
Hi i have a question, Sometimes client want to change something that we know is not a good practice or something that will not work. What should we do in that situation..?
I'd give my best suggestions, but if they still want the other way, I'd follow their instruction. Think of it this way, if you're a hairdresser and your client wants you to shave his head, you know it'll be bad but he's paying for it, would you do it?
hey kayung first of all thank you for your valuable content; your content is really valuable i have learned a lot from you. so, i have query regarding portfolio like how to structure a portfolio if i want to apply for full time position for ui designer, as well as continue freelancing as a side hustle ? what would you suggest in this scenario? i hope you got my que.
Hey Rohit, I think it's less about your portfolio structure and more about your work. I always advise people to just use Dribbble as their portfolio rather than having a personal one. I made a video to talk more about this point. th-cam.com/video/w7HG_MPAgbg/w-d-xo.html
1st of all, you need to be good enough to secure an interview. and 2nd, most companies I talked to are for contract work, that's why the number is high.

I feel like I'm the only one without a job right now lol
What would you say if they ask you to lower your hourly rate?
I usually have a minimum, below that I'll pass the project to my other contractors.
@@KaYungCalebLai May I ask what is your minimum at this moment?
@@bahaedakka $75/h USD.

"They aren't paying me to say this", "But go ahead and use my code to get 15% off"... bro wtf. Video starts at @6:15
that's why youtube has timestamp and you're twisting my words :)
it is necessary to learn html and css
but no, it's not necessary. I covered some of the points in this video.

600+ companies? doesnt that mean you aren't doing very well at the interviews?
1st of all, you need to be good enough to secure an interview. and 2nd, most companies I talked to are for contract work, that's why the number is high.
This feels more of a ui role. If you’re not doing research and analysis you’re not doing ux.
there is a role called ux researcher, and that is totally different from designing the actual product.
600 companies my ass...
closer to 700 now. Out of that 700 interviews, landed 103 clients. so that's about 1 in 7 close rate, not too bad.
