Ben Townley smoked Everts in multiple gp's. He ran head to head with the great Villopoto in 2007. Sad injuries ruined his career. The guy is the most underrated racer imo!
Kdub raced a vintage race against my brother, Vernon Mckiddie, this past weekend. Alley was there too. Diamond Dons 20th Ahrma vintage national. Fun race. Blake Wharton, John short and a few others were there.
Ironically that 86 CR was the best honda motor i had for quite a few years an the pro cicuit pipe gave it the pro top end freedim it need..it was definately the secret true HRC procuction bike cos RJ was say how sneaky fast it was because it had a works crankshaft that was ultra balance the motor would just pop down low get u rolling an then no vibration or any motor noise next thing it was at warp 10...an the forks were great like every works bike...showa forks...they took them away from RJ an gave himnew hi tech upside down an said know no put the conventional ones back please....the rear shock was equally as good.....thanks
Kdub was one of the best riders that never got the chance to shine... always out done by rc4. However I remember kdub was the only guy to beat rc4 straight up over a 3 yr span lll
K dub still a legend tho..from challenging McGrath to Carmichael and even running with Stewart occasionally. His opening ceremonies transfers was insane. But I agree with u he never got to truly shine because he came up in an era of true Motocross legends.
It seemed like Kdub wanted to have fun and that's when the fun started to be squeezed out of it for him. Kevin kept Kevin from winning. His iconic amount of talent against a guy that worked for it and proclaims had very little talent of himself. If Kevin really wanted it he could have had it.
for real. best guy to never win a premiere class title. came so close a few times and yes you are correct. he broke rcs outdoor winning streak when he returned to the scene
Stroupe was good we get it but how did nobody bring up forkner? Stroupe won 4 races forkner has won 12. And clearly the best guy a lot of the time. What am I missing?
It's been several years since forever was "the best guy". He's been racing since 2016 and has very little to show for it other than crashing out of every single season. I was a fan for a long time but his time has passed and he shouldn't have a ride. He's lucky his contract goes another year.
@@alexlw216 it's been several years since stroupe was not the title favorite also? What's that matter? It's a specific question what's your fandom have to do w anything? U make no sense. Who cares who some random guy decided to not like anymore?
@@zee.___moose941 One could ask you the same thing. Your fanboyism over Forkner not being talked about doesn't make any sense. He's not a relevant rider. Everyone else he brought up was.
@@Neopaintballofficial yeah I could see that if it were barx Suzuki. This is Mitch tho, he don't hold back and it's not like forkner doesn't know he should be a 2 time champ. He probably thinks about it every night lying in bed. It's no secret and Austin's a realist
Hey that 95 was the shop i worked daytona win honda RRP pritvate team...an he beat all of team a suzuki...timmy should have got a factory ride for kawi or honda before jump up to pro someone was sleeping on that deal...i took him to practice before he did his first pro race...an he was one with the universe when he rode that bike....i kevin was the only one i could see was as good as Ferry
Best selling pipe the RJ 250 honda...i bought an 86 for my first race 250...yeah suicidal move....but i look hey after market pipe whos...ah umm pro somebody...oh shit no pro circuit that ll work dumb kid i was i only new one name it was P C

7:47 Just makes the Austin Stroupe story even more sad.

Weren't they on XR200s? 🤣
Mitch is 💯 Badass !! 🔥🔥
Ben Townley shoutout! Dude was so underrated, definitely a coulda shoulda woulda.

Right before Payton answered the second question, I was thinking through my answer and also came up with Townley and Pourcel
Hearing him describe Stroupe as "special" just breaks my heart. He could have been a champion but it just wasn't meant to be.
You don’t have a Darcy Lange jersey in your office? He is a homeboy!!
Love to hear from a legend talk about the goldenrod of NBA and Motocross if this wasn't America I think it was America 😂 BLM

Probably because he still racing and he doesn’t want to create drama

Did Jeremy Buell win a title under Mitch
I wonder why Kawi wouldn’t hire Kdub?
I guess at Windham cant really but it looks like K dub

Fuck this was shit. Such a golden opportunity to ask mitch good questions to mitch.
It was a 40 minute interview, he talks candidly about Shimoda, Reynolds, Hammaker, Supermotocross, etc, link is in the description.
