The second song is Airplane pt.2. (The part 2 is to distinguish if from J-Hope's song, Airplane. The "pt.2" just designates a different song with the same title, NOT a sequel.)
They are Korean, and the instruments, dances, costumes are traditional Korean. The members are dressed in Korean Hanbok. East Asian countries have been interacting with each other for thousands of years. They have their own cultures, but they have influenced each other. It is like European cultures--English, French, German, Italian--distinct, but have traded, gone to war with and against each other for thousands of years. If you watch the MV for Idol, you will see a lot of Korean references--hanbok, dance, architecture, the lions. Idol is a response to the criticism BTS was receiving. Some of the criticism was that they had forgotten who they were, that they were too westernized.

Of course, Korean culture. Not Chinese nor japanese cultures. You saw Korean fan dance (male ver.), mask dance, and Nong-ak(farmers' dance) with lion dance.

I think we don't put on this kind of show because it is so much work- they have hours and hours of practice going into these performances... and I don't think they get paid for them. Plus it's not easy to sing while dancing at this level- you have to work very hard to achieve this level.
Airplane pt2- one of my favorites. Listen to the MV- so good!

Always happy to see you upload! Could listen to you for hours if you had a podcast. None of the previous MMA performances will prepare you for the 2019 one, it's almost hilarious how insane it is. I'm 35 and have never seen anything like it. It's long but we'll watch the whole thing - if the network's channel gives you copyright trouble you can try putting a translucent overlay w/ text over the video and re-pitch the audio, we totally won't mind.

That is so sweet, thank you haha! I would actually love doing a podcast but I can’t speak that long alone and don’t know what it’d be over haha.
I’m super excited for the 2019, I’m sure I’ll be amazed as I always am with these guys lol

The difference in award shows is, I think, the culture.
The Grammy's are (or...these days, maybe "were" is more accurate?) the biggest music awards show in the U.S. However, it's a single (NIGHTTIME) 3-4 hour event. At best, we may get a couple "extra" hours of red carpet footage, if you're into that. Americans have short attention spans, as a whole.
Most Asian music award shows, however, go big! When it comes to MAIN shows. They aren't *just* awards shows, but rather 2-day long events (sometimes even lasting 3 days) and they basically have awards for...everything. The lesser award categories (Best MV, Best Group, Best Artist, etc.) often have a "Top 10" or "Top 5" (sometimes as many as 20) instead of a single winner. Pretty much only the daesangs (grand prizes) have one ultimate winner. The daesangs are basically anything with "...of the Year" attached to the award - so Artist of the Year, Group of the Year, etc. Those shows often last from noon to 11 PM (if I remember correctly, don't quote me on that part) with fans lining up at 9 AM (or...maybe they start at 9 AM? Like I said, I can't remember off-hand). Koreans, as a whole, have a MUCH longer attention span.
Know that "main" show I mentioned? Yep...they also have quarterly awards, too! I forget the division, but I THINK it does follow the typical calendar (January to March, April to June, etc.), so you also have, for example: "1st Quarter Song of the Year", "2nd Quarter Song of the Year", etc. So those quarterly awards lead up to the bigger productions at the end of each year, and they are also part of the reason the main shows span multiple days instead of just one.
