  • The Suikerbossie climb near to the end of the Cape Town Cycle Tour route is one of the most memorable ones. You have to dig deep for the last heavy climb for it is at this stage that your body will start feeling fatigued. But the crowds that show up are so motivational and everyone around you climbing are so supportive.

Hey. This year there was many things that made that last climb a tough one. The wind was one of them. I myself got to that point and just went to spin in out. Hope you enjoyed it none the less.

Make or Break but 100% agreed. You have to dig deep within yourself and push, push through the pain. Just sometimes cant stand the Electric MTB riders that think they own the road when we keeping our lane. They going to cause a huge accident still for some riders, swerving were they please.

That is quite possible. Some of them you see keep a steady pace. But others look like they have full throttle or turbo mode activated. And especially when everyone else without peddle assist are keeping a slow speed up the climb, there is that possibility that one of those faster e-bikes will cause a big accident up one of those climbs. I myself was on a normal leg power mountain bike, I've been told that it looks like I'm flying up the hill myself.

Suikerbossie not the worst climb, Smitswinkel and Chappies worst. Just that, by the time you reach Suikerbossie you are at your end.

I totally agree with that. I really enjoy all the climbs on the Tour. The gradient on Chappies and Suikerbossie is not that bad. Not like Smitswinkel. Just each one is long climbing and by the time where most people experience fatigue.

They are. Believe it or not. I'm not sure how it works but I think they also get a dedicated time slot where its either early of later in the morning.
