I went on the magic behind the steam trains tour. It was the first time I ever saw #4 diesel rule burning steam locomotives. #1 Walter e. Disney engine is my favorite, it's nice, narrow guage 4-6-0 baldwin 1920s built.
There’s three sounds that are iconic to me at Walt Disney World: 1. Fireworks 2. Families screaming on rides 3. The bells of the Magic Kingdom trains pulling into a station.
Riding into the park on the monorail, or walking towards Main Street and hearing the whistle of one of the trains in the distance, then listen to it grandly pull into the station has been a nostalgic memory for as long as I can remember.
Wonderful video, really enjoyed it. When you love Disney World and trains, this is the perfect therapy. Nothing like the sound of those whistles. Love it 👍🏻
12:27 is my favorite shot in this entire video. You can see just how hard that engine has to work to get that train out of the station and up the grade, its cylinders are charged up so hard it’s rocking the entire engine side to side as it goes!
My family and I went to Walt Disney World for my senior break in April 2013. I was in Anchor Bay High School during that time. When we went to the Magic Kingdom on Wednesday, we had a blast: We went on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, the Dumbo ride, the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad ride, the Journey of the Little Mermaid attraction, and some other attractions. My dad and I wanted to go on the train, but we couldn't. A cast member told us that all the engines needed fixing, and that really made us sad. :( I still got to hit another train at Disney's Animal Kingdom, but I wish I could have gone on the old steam train at the Magic Kingdom and the monorail, too. Plus, near the end of that month, I finally got to discover the "Pith Possum" segment, "Haunt of the Night of Blacker Darkness". :) (It is okay if you've never seen "Shnookums and Meat" before. )
Most if not all of these locos are capable of going 40mph+. I wish the layout was bigger so they could really open them up. Also, Disney missed A PERFECT opportunity to connect every park in the Walt Disney Resort BY RAIL.
I've got a Walt Disney Toy Train for Christmas, and That's my Favorite thing and also i like Roy O. Disney #4 Train engine because I wanna go to Fantasyland Station
Believe it or not, I liked watching thisore than most train videos online. Disney World is just fascinating to me and its incredible that they keep steam locomotives running everyday. Great video dude

Strasburg are steam specialists. We aren't looking to convert these as diesel lmao. Yes, I am certain that this is a joke. Lilly Belle needed the rebuild tho. She had massive issues before being rebuilt. Now, she is running better than ever before! All four locomotives are being rebuilt as well: Walter and Roger are done with their rebuild, and Roy has just been sent out.
I wonder how the WDWR would handle something like a 2-8-2, 4-6-2, or 4-8-2 if their current fleet starts to have trouble? I personally feel like a 4-6-2 would have the best chance of working.
WALTER E DISNEY: I lived in Florida for many many years this red train has got ups and downs but I could always come home to my roundhouse and relax on this familiar ground and now I know, it's time for me to leave to live closer to my own branchline rest assured, I will be fine because no matter where I roam Florida will always be my home be my home ROGER E BROGGIE: I'm one of thee, original three it was Walter Roy o and me after the good old days when I made my return that roundhouse is where I wanted to be it's where I've come to rest it's where I've come to cry it's where I've come to share a smile it's time for this number 3 to move away from his family but no matter where I go Florida will always be my home be my home WALTER E AND ROGER E BROGGIE: for many years, we've slept by the side of our walt Disney family even though we'll always be apart of this beautiful team we'll miss you all so dearly THOMAS: don't be so dramatic you two there's no reason to be so blue your goodbyes are unnecessary you're always welcome here anytime and anyday and no matter where you roam Florida will always be your home be your home be my home ROGER E BROGGIE: (whistles) WALTER E: (whistles) THOMAS: (whistles)
Derek Parsons All four WDW RR engines are steam engines, they just burn #2 heating oil to heat the water in their boilers rather than burning coal or wood, that is the only difference. They really have all the traditional steam engine equipment. The reason for that is because they were actually built in the early part of the 20th century by Baldwin Locomotive works as steam engines. Walt Disney Productions bought them just as they were being retired from the narrow gauge railroad on the Yucatan peninsula that was just converting to disel from steam in the 1960’s.
Welcome to the Omaha zoo railroad engine 119 please remain seated at all times while the train is in motion and for fire and safety reasons we must ask that you do not smoke on the train smoking is not prominent in the zoo
It isn't part of the Walt Disney World Railroad. It's a small scale 4-4-0 Walt had on his backyard railroad. I think it's on display at one of the parks.
Roy o Disney’s whistle is my favorite.
Ro ro ro your boat down the sea

*Me at **2:11** 👀*
You really established the mood and feel of Disney perfectly in this video
Wonderful video, really enjoyed it. When you love Disney World and trains, this is the perfect therapy. Nothing like the sound of those whistles. Love it 👍🏻
1# and 4# are my favorite engines (I love the stack style, paint job, style, and whistles)
I Love Railroad Tours So Much, It's My Favorite Because It's Amazing To The Max. :)
Thank you for posting this , I Love Walt Disney World & I Love the steam locos.
As a Brit, these steam locos are my favourites just from their unique designs, sounds, history and legacy
Nicely made video, Great establishing shots,in clear and sharp photography.
Well done!
The most beautiful locomotives of the world !
Checking out, I had to have been there around this time. The flag is at half staff for Anette Funicello. I was there the day she died.

The editing and filming here is mindblowing. Gotta say, Roy is my favorite WDWRR locomotive.
Walter E is my favorite(meme wise and only cause I like the whistle and bell)
Yes, roy o disney is one of my favorite locomotives on the list.
Most if not all of these locos are capable of going 40mph+. I wish the layout was bigger so they could really open them up.

The first train i rode on was number #1 and that whistle brings joy to my ears
Went on this ride 20 years ago for the first time.
Old ferrocarriles unidos de yucatán engines (United Railways of Yucatán)274, 260, 265, 251, It makes me feel good that they are still operating today

Good job with this video. I love watching this. Steam trains are awesome.
I love the WDW Railroad!
Me too!
That's sounds like so much fun!
Me too.
I love disney.
I’m not sure why but the bells on those two 4-6-0s kinda reminds me of Southern Railway 722.
Well it's free to watch right here on youtube!
Am I the only one who finds these sounds soothing?
They take you a ride to every Theme Park you could imagine you'd traveling in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It definitely seems like these steamers at WDW are a lot more realistic than the ones I've seen other videos of for the ones in Disneyland.
Why is #2 being rebuilt at the Strasburg Railroad and not at the Norfolk Southern Junita Shops? Oh, wait---NS would turn it into an SD60E!!!
I would love a DVD of this! One of the best!

Lots of steam with roy
Its just so unique for a theme park to have real steam engines rather than diesels with a steam locomotive disguise.
I rode that train where I used to be its junior conductor where the conductor me taught how to use the audio device at the rear coach.
It is currently closed for construction. Also do the locomotives run on actual steam or is it all motor?
It’s all on steam, except they burn oil instead of coal.
Roger my favorite to run!
Next I wanna see some diesel locomotives on the wdwrr. That’ll be so cool!
Newsflash: they’re fired on diesel
@@BlueCometProductions So, the locomotives are oil burners?
@@JaredRouse8465 correct. Steam locomotives powered by diesel fuel. However the Animal Kingdom trains are diesel locomotives made to look like steam.
Nope, that whistle is many years older than MD Whistles
Exceptional Video Chad! Really like some of the shots you did. I got a cab tour of #4 a few years ago.
Nice train
Awesome video!!!
Awesome video! I like how you got shots of the 3 current running locomotives. one question- at 9:14 which tunnel is that?
I noticed Old Glory is at half mast. Who died that time?
Veteran Disney actress, Annette Funicello.
Day after the manhunt in Boston. Pretty sure President Obama ordered them all at half mast.
IT IS WONDERFLL

Is that a 10 wheeler or a 4-6-0
They're the same thing lol
Tynan's ytbhfgg
Love it
what kind of valve gears are used in these locos?
Probably the one near the new Fanastyland
It's the Pirates' Tunnel, right next to the restrooms at the exit of Pirates of the Caribbean.
6:07 no brakes on the locomotive! All the brakes are in the coaches.
How to do they load a vip on the train at Walt Disney world
look in the description
What about lilly belle??????????????????
Lilly Belle was still under restoration while this was filmed
Is number 4 the locomotive that can only produce steam instead of gasoline?
What in God's name is THAT supposed to mean!? They are oil heated, I know that, is that what you mean?
I thought it was like a regular locomotive that produced steam I didn't know sorry

I think she getting inpection and restoration.
It would be nice on #1 to show us the deer, and tht
日本で言うと、ウエスタンリバー鉄道 ミズーリ号

Where the lilly belle?

Frisco 1522 there is a lilly belle locomotive at WDWRR.
There is a Lilly Belle she getting inpection and restoration.
It was under a major overhaul at the time. It returned to service in 2016.
Very awesome video!!
