I think Crows are kinda different. They are already part of city's ecosystem and not at all endangered so I think feeding them and befriending them can be harmless, also they apparently know their boundaries and still keep some distance even after they consider a human who feeds them a friend.
Wildlife rehab is a pretty difficult task, helping raise or heal a wild animal without allowing it to get too attached to humans is tricky at the best of times, and gets harder the more intelligent the animal is. I have a lot of respect for the Urban Rescue Ranch for exactly that reason, not shying away from talking about and showing the processes of reintegrating an animal into the wild and discussing why it is so important. It's a great channel if you can get past the tiktok/zoomer humour in a lot of his videos, which I don't blame him for, those videos literally pay for his entire operation.
12:20 yeah, a big loud bang could at least in their mind: a tree falling at a distance, or a rockfall. Also, I very much admire that you went with "earth Orcs" because you're smart enough to know that: ... everything is LITERALLY in space. lol
We have Snow Geese here that have stopped migrating and live in the parks because people have been feeding them for years, so they won't leave since they have their food delivered right to the pond side. Sioux Falls, SD, has the same problem so bad that they made it illegal to feed their geese, but they haven't left. When I was a child back in the 60's, we would go camping in Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming and the black bears there were so used to humans it was scary. It started with them lining up (with their cubs) on the side of the road begging for food from people driving past. They figured out that people hung out in the campgrounds in the evenings, so they went there for dinner. Seeing them wander from campsite to campsite was a little unsettling. BTW, that's where Yogi the Bear cartoon came from. Lately, my brothers and all the male offspring go camping in Custer State Park every year. There was a buffalo that every spring staked out the campground as his home turf. He wasn't looking for any handouts but would just graze around the people staying there. The rangers would come and relocate him to the other end of the park but a day or two later he would be back. We named him Ralphy but one year he didn't show up and the campground host told us that they made him into Ralphy burgers. I personally had an interaction with a squirrel there. I got up from the picnic table for a second and he ran down a tree and grabbed an apple I had on the table. He wrestled the apple up a pine tree at the end of the table and finally got it up on a branch. He took a bite of it, and because it was a Granny Smith sour apple, not a sweet one, he spit out the chunk he bit off and threw the rest of the apple at me, nearly hitting me in the head.
Ah the otter nonsense that we put our wildlife through. Loved your reaction. Remember folks them's wild animals , treat them with the kindness and respect they deserve. 🐈⬛🤍
Just a take on the sponsor in the video. You noted the fact that this being an app would prevent a lot of people that need this info from getting it. I agree. However, I believe the monthly subscription fee will prevent more people that need the info from getting it. People that need the info are either far right or far left, those are the very people that would never pay to get information they don't want in the first place. The people willing to pay already have the information, and are enthusiastically paying to be in an echo chamber. The altruistic message of trying to improve the world by making this info available is exposed as nothing more than a clever selling point by the paywall gatekeeping the information that is so important to get out in the world. A masterful job of interweaving truth, deception and admirable intentions around a concept solely conceived to make money. Even the tangential benefits are largely inconsequential.
Let me preface this by saying that I don’t rely on any “main stream” news channels. So Fox News is mostly actual news. Yeah their prime time is opinion, but so is every other news channel. It only really seems like a right wing source because EVERY other main stream source is far left leaning. Fox is the most center based new channel on TV. Again, yeah, they lean right but they have on ppl of all political takes to give their opinions. I’ve never seen anyone on MSNBC that was pro-trump, despite more than half the voter base supporting him. Likewise, if you look at the framing of NPR/CNN/ABC headlines, most are highly opinion based. Fox mostly has objective headline titles. You just need to step back from your own opinion biases and try to look objectively and you’ll see that. I tend to listen to the “ milk toast fence sitter” Tim Pool who, despite what the democrats say, is more populist left than he is, right leaning.
Injured grown wild birds sometimes will work out well, but they dont like small cages and hurt themselves, so tape their wings/ in place to recover to their body, so self damege is minimalized.
I raised some Jackdaws, crows and magpies in my life, but they indeed lose their fear and become dependant => all of them got killed by dogs, cats and cars. Lesson learnt.

Walt Disney's Bambi started the animal personification and made all of the animals cute and of course a cute animal won't rip your face off, right?
I still watch The Adventures of Scamper the Penguin from time to time. I grew up with it, and it's still amazing.

1:03 All that's important is that he blends right in.
Lauren wants a Crow friend, I want a wolf friend.
19:11 I had it on DVD!
Loved the reaction and thank you for it
I grew up on scamper. Im well familiar with that movie.
The one in the movie is a leopard seal, not a elephant seal

It says at the bottom bar that it’s just their opinion. How do people not notice it?
