Jimmy Hart not being included was a crime. He managed Hogan in WCW, but back when Hogan was a heel in his early days in the 70's, he ran with Classy Freddie Blassie.
'The Mouth of the South' Jimmy Hart also managed 'The Immortal' Hulk Hogan (and Brutus 'The FUCKING Barber' Beefcake together as atag team deemed 'The Mega Maniacs') in WWF for a few months in 1993 - most notably during WrestleMania IX.
Gorilla Monsoon was never a manager. He was a wrestler, promoter, official, and commentator Teddy Long did it all in wrestling: ring crew, referee, manager, official
They tried with Baron Corbin with JBL, didn't work out, this new Era doesnt do well with Managers like with Stables, really you only have Paul Ellering because of the Final Testament
@@SuperSayianWarrior I think Paul Ellering and Paul Heyman are the only two on the main roster right now? I don't think MVP has any clients left. Maybe Zelina Vega counts?
I think it’s mainly because talking is such a big part of getting to the top, if you need a manager to do it for you it’s harder to connect with them as fans so you can only get so far up the card. Who was the last person to make it to the main event that needed a manager? Probably Khali but part of that was the language barrier
Hey, thanks for doing the quiz, guys! I kinda did it as a way to trust how far your wrestling knowledge went. Either way, great game! Edit: Also, I know there were others you thought of. I actually sent different versions of the quiz because I realized I missed some (ie., Jimmy Hart) and I thought you guys would've gotten the most recent version of it. But, it was a fun vid anyways
Smoking Gunns consisted of Bart Gunn and Billy Gunn. Bart Gunn won the Brawl for All and got knocked out by Butterbean, Billy Gunn went on to DX, Chuck and Billy, and is now working with the Acclaimed. Yes, that Billy Gunn used to be in a cowboy tag team.
I missed a few but some of these were painfully obvious like Corny. Demolition was at one point the longest reigning WWE Tag Team Champions prior to The New Day breaking that record.
Speaking of pallbearers at funerals: I didn't know they existed either until I was at my great-uncle's funeral when I was like nine and saw them listed on the programme, and after I started giggling and my parents explained it to my poppa, it made him laugh for the first time since my great-uncle had passed away. It was such a fun moment that helped to lighten the mood, all because I saw the word and immediately had Paul Bearer's high-pitched voice in my head 😅😅
And that's my 8th trip to Sweep City! Once Sophie started rattling off all the old 80s and obscure wrestlers, I knew what kinda quiz this was going to be. I would chime in and say watch older content too, but I get why they wouldn't. Still, good quiz! Also, there was no way they were gonna get even half of that list. It's just not their generation.
Also I easily got Capt. Lou Albano and kind of for a silly reason. This guy voiced Mario in The Super Mario Bros. Super Show back in the early 90s and I remember reading his article not too long ago and saw an image of him with the Wild Samoans. I'm a huge Mario fan and I thought it was cool that a wrestling manager voiced someone at one point who would go on to become the icon of video games lol
Do the Mario! I remember watching that too as a kid and who could forget his playing Cyndi Lauper's dad in the Girls Just Wanna Have Fun video. Classic!
Love you guys! Your lack of knowledge about wrestling history is hilarious and I mean that as a compliment. Very entertaining lol. Keep up the great content!
I agree that Jimmy Hart not being included was a joke, but I also felt like they missed Brother Love. Bruce Pritchard was an insane manager with the red face. That would've been a great question.
Blassie was Hogan's manager when he worked for Vince Sr. in the WWWF. He put on some banger matches with Andre. I saw them at the Philadelphia Spectrum, Andre whipped hogan into the ropes and all four ring posts bent in that direction. Amazing.
I got the Ted DiBiase one because I recently watched a video about Stone Cold before he got that gimmick and we had won the million dollar belt, so it was kind of a good guess for me
Finally a quiz where I finally blew you guys out of the water! Love the old wresting managers. But no Jimmy Hart or Johnny V or Frencie Martin, part 2?
I loved this quiz, though clearly the golden age of wrestling and before are missing knowledge for the boys, so many great managers that they didnt even recognize the names of.
This is such a hard quiz if you haven't watched much 80s and early 90s wrestling. Not a surprise that two dudes in their 20s who started watching in the 2000s wouldn't know the majority of these.
First off, I was wondering where Jimmy Hart was along with other managers (including Trish Stratus because she did start as a manager), but thanks to even me being stumped with the wager, I lost 6 points and ended with 9 points. The only people I missed prior to the wager was Captain Lou (how could I have forgotten?!). This brought back memories of watching wrestling history.
I said Dutch Mantell for Zeb Colter. I forgot that was the name he used in WWE. These guys really showed their age by not knowing managers from the 80s and 90s.
BodyDonnas were Chris "Skip" Candido (married to Tammy "Sunny" Stych) and Tom "Zip" Pritchard, the Godwins were Mark "Henry Godwin" Canterbury and Dennis "Phineas T. Godwin" Knight (who was also "Mideon" later in his career. These 2 were also known as Tex Slazenger (Canterbury) and Shanghai (Knight) Pierce... and as "Southern Justice" ... as for "the Twin Towers" they were Akeem and Big Bossman (George "One-man Gang" Gray was Akeem ,The African Dream, and Ray "Big Bubba Rogers" Traylor was The Big Bossman) and "Slick" , "The Doctor of Style "or "Reverand Slick" ( Kevin Wayne Johnson, who was a second generation wrestler, his dad was known as "Rufus R. Jones" or "FreightTrain Jones", and this is the only one I got off Google...lol).. ... I ended up with 12 out of 17 and wagered 8 so I am the SCW champion.
Sweep city here. Slick was the only one I had to take a second to remember. I'm hoping there's a part two...DDP, Arnold Skaaland, Kevin Sullivan, Miss Elzabeth, Luna Vachon, Virgil, Brother Love, Don Callis....
hes missing a bunch of guys for the grand wizard, he managed the original shiek, greg the hammer valentine, ox baker, stan stasiak, blackjack mulligan, sgt slaughter, killer kawolski and a few others i cant remember
Nice...I had 11 going into the Wager Round. Also guessed Jimmy Hart since that was the only one I could think of that came out with Hogan. I got Wippleman and Teddy Long right, and Cornette. I am definitely old remembering some of these.
Sunny wasn't just a valet, she was really a manager because managers are also know to be the mouthpiece for their clients. Sunny would be taking care of a good portion of the promos foe the Godwins, the Body Donna's (chris candido and I believe Fit Finley), and the smoking guns (Billy and Bart Gunn).
Yal gotta watch some older stuff man most of these guys even if you dont get the questions right you show kbow the names when they pop up most of them are very well-known

I agree Sophie was savage with that one

Oh wow, this bout to be a great episode

Teddy long did it all he was a manager, general manager and also a referee throughout his career.
