    S Tier:
    INTERLEAVING: Learning one topic in different ways possible
    FEYMAN TECHNIQUE: Teaching what you understood/learnt to someone in as simple words as possible.
    STUDY PLANNING: Planning beforehand when, what and for how long to study.
    SLEEP: One of the most important and beneficial for learning is sleep. People literally can die without lack of sleep. Never ever sacrifice it. Decrease sleep= Decrease lifespan. We process everything we experienced at day in our sleep.
    CREATING CONTENT: Create content from what you have learnt from is an incredibly useful technique because it gives you a reason to learn something so you can share it with others. It also improves your brain creativity.
    A Tier:
    Pomodoro: 25min study session and 5 minute break or 50min session and 10 min break.
    PRIMING: Reading the respective material before going to class so you won't feel lost and actually kind of know what the teacher is talking about.
    CHUNKING: Lots of information is broken down into small parts and is memorised individually (so we won't feel like there is soo much to learn and also it helps the brain to process info much faster and make it less stressful)
    PRACTICE PROBLEMS: Tip: If you have like a lot of concepts then try to do conceptual questions first and then go for full chapter tests. It becomes easier about where you are finding lapses in the chapter. Might not work for everyone. Try it though.
    SPACED REPETITION: Reviewing/Revision a concept or chapter in regular intervals. (Your brain can't process and store information if you revise just once. You have to review it over and over again for your brain to actually remember it.). The spaced repetition sequence goes like this: 1st time, within 2 hours, 4 hours, 1 day, 3 days, 7days...till you remember it)
    MIND MAP:Basically you just try to draw a map with the topic and the Subtopics. Very useful for revision if you include blurting and mind map together. For eg. If you take a topic and it has two subtopics, just by looking at the name of the topics and subtopics your brain should be able to think about what you learnt under that topic/subtopic.
    VISUAL ASSOCIATION: Trying to group a page of notes etc into diagrams or mindmaps(anything visually). Highly useful because it makes your brain to easily remember details.
    B Tier:
    SYNTOPICAL: Studying one topic from different resources. To gain multiple perspectives of understandings from different people.
    FRAMEWORKING: Giving structure to what you are thinking. For eg. Using flowcharts Or diagrams or graphs to understand about a concept. Bad thing is that it takes a lot of time to actually figure out how to draw the concept/topic for you to understand it.
    LISTENING TO MUSIC: Very useful and enjoyable when you don't feel like studying. White noise and binaural beats are considered as most effective. Tips: Don't listen to slow music, don't listen to music with lyrics and dont listen to music with high volume.
    EXERCISE: It's really important both physically and mentally. It enables your mood, memory, your well being and overall everything. Not mandatory though.
    GROUP DISCUSSIONS: Highly useful if used correctly and surrounded with the right people.
    CHAT GPT: Useful for summaries of chapters or topics or to clarify doubts
    C Tier:
    Flashcards:Taking a small card and writing a question or a fact on one side and the answer on the other side so you can kind of quiz yourself and know the answer immediately.Not recommended because it takes too much time and energy. But very helpful in some cases.
    BLURTING: Take a topic and write down everything you remember about it. It helps you to recall facts but not recommended because it doesn't make you think about the links between the concepts. Very useful for occasional use.
    GOING TO CLASS: Depends on the person. Each one has their own needs but its good to have a guide to what you are doing and to help you with doubts.
    MNEMONICS: Just trying to remember a list of things(especially in a sequence) to create like a rhyme or a pattern. It just helps you to recall things and not actually understand the concepts.
    HOMEWORK: It depends on person. If you feel homework is a burden then it's unhelpful but if you take it to your advantage, it's very helpful.
    CRAMMING: Spaced repetition > Cramming. Most people sacrifice sleep to cram which isn't good. It also is not good for memory. But useful sometimes.
    D Tier:
    REREADING/REWATCHING: Complete waste of time as your brain thinks it already knows but we can't actually remember it.
    HIGHLIGHTING: Not useful because it's passive and it tells your brain
    that its important but it doesn't actually make your brain to remember it even though you know its important.
    Tip: People get bored quickly. So try different techniques for every chapter you learn and observe what works and doesn't work. It takes time but it's very effective once you know how to learn something effectively. Most people want to learn but they don't know how. So we have to be thankful that there are already plenty of techniques backed up by science so we don't take up most of the time thinking about how to learn. Thanks for reading.

    Absolutely loving my learning journey with networking fundamentals! I've crafted a personalized strategy that combines flashcards, the Feynman technique, the Zettelkasten method, and a commonplace book. Here's how it works: I use flashcards divided into four quadrants. Quadrant A has everyday definitions, as if explained by Feynman himself. Quadrant B lists real-world applications, Quadrant C dives into why the concept is important, and Quadrant D explores connections between different cards.
    All the cards are organized using the Zettelkasten method, allowing for a dynamic and interlinked learning experience. I also keep a commonplace book where I sketch diagrams and jot down my thoughts, further enriching the learning process. Finally, I digitize everything in Obsidian to keep it structured and easily accessible.
    This method has revolutionized the way I learn-making it engaging, thorough, and surprisingly less tiring. Just thought I’d share for anyone looking for a more integrated and effective way to study complex subjects! 🚀📚

    - Listen to what the teacher says
    - Write it down in a notebook (or online)

    How i want to learn:

      @@KoiAcademy I have been studying deeply history, so I need to know every century and important date. History can’t be learned by just knowing one period of time in specific country, you need to the whole history of one century on many continents and countries. For example let’s say you learning ancient Babilon, not only you have to say when hammurabi wrote his code but know how he became such important person and why his code’s innovative. Understanding ancient Egypt, Israel, Greece Persian and Asyrians is key to understand Babilon.
      Listening to podcast, TH-cam videos, reading discussions about topic make you vision of how the world was build back then ( art and religion can’t be left out)
      It takes time nonetheless it left you with knowledge

If you just listen to the song you want to learn, you dont actually learn it, you have to sit down and practice to learn. It is very useful to hear it once te get a certain kind of understanding, but nothing happens if you dont actively practice the song.

All my methods were in D class and were presented as THE ONLY way (by teachers too!). I would do tests with a gigantic amount of anxiety because I felt like I knew enough thanks to the illusion of familiarity, but then the test would feel like it was written in another language. I bet knowing this would have made my highschool experience much better. I don't know if I'll be able to go back to school, but I'm definitely gonna use these techniques in my self learning journey. Genuine question here guys, I know you alluded to it in this video, so if flashcards are counter productive, perhaps you should pin on a comment on your older videos regarding flash cards? The ones where you specifically recommend Remnotes. I realize opinions on topic change over time, however if your opinion has changed drastically a pinned comment on your flashcard videos linking to your new opinion on the subject would be useful to learners (I understand why you might not want to entirely delete or hide these older videos). The algorithm will just recommend older popular videos to learners, leading to poor learning outcomes. Which obviously is not what youre about.

Just like who watched intrestellar at age of 6-7 now at 15 i find it totally different (ofc it would be at such a large years of diff ) but its just a example you can relate it in your own way

    There's a method for memorizing.The one,one-two, one-two-three...... technique It works for moderate sentence length experiments or anything long it basically works after understanding the experiment then, read its first sentence, write it down, then read second sentence, write first sentence then second sentence, then read third sentence and then.......... You get the idea , until it's over then write entire experiment at once, two times. Later you can space the time you write it again. Could take me up to 5 days before I need to write it again. When you really understand a topic and have details of it memorized, blurting when writing fills the gap of application which is useful for the field that you're going into. I gotta ask, you guys promoted Remnote and flashcards a lot, so it had been such a nice app for flashcards and notes in general but I keep switching back and forth with hand-written notes,, so I'm not using it at all :((. I downloaded a lot of other apps and websites and I'm really overwhelmed because I've tried finding my own study routine or method that works for me. I don't really know which study method to prioritize or when to do. So I had a few questions if you don't mind. Do you think hand-written notes are better than writing on the iPad? Or should I sacrifice this to type them up on remnote directly to make flashcards? Do you guys feel a lot differently now about flashcards now? Is it still a really good way to memorize among other memorization techniques? Also, do you recommend I get remnote premium? There seems to be a lot of new features. Great video btw!! u guys r so underrated :)))

    I feel like this video was good but had a lot of generalizations. Some people don't use the techniques in the way you say. It probably would've been good to tier each method in its best form, not in the form that people often use it in. This is because the method itself may actually be good if used properly. For example, I find it surprising that going to class would be considered c tier. Obviously if you go to class without priming your brain for it it's not that effective. In principle, though, I'm pretty sure making it a habit to go to class prepared would make it effective for learning.

    I dont know why you consider repetition as waste of time, my experience has been that the first time I read a subject through lectures, i get it but also there are certain lines in textbook that i cant grasp, the second time I revise that subject during the revision tests those same lines make a lot more sense and the third time i read the subject before exams everything just seems so clear and understandable. This cycle has been the same for theee classes

    • @Jackliaa
      @Jackliaa 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think if you do spaced repetition (like you reread the material the next day, so that your brain can have time to process the information while you sleep) or you use other methods to study before rereading (like you go to class or check other books/videos/sources that talk about the material) then I think rereading can work.
      It's just not really worth reading the same material multiple times in a row, the same day (given that you actually do understand the material the first time you read).

    Active recall & Spaced Repetition the most powerful based on EVIDENCE
    Anki also has multiple note types and an extra section where you can add your images.... mind maps....mnemonics...et Al
    With it you're combining LOTS OF STUDY TECHNIQUES IN ONE SPACE

      I also suggest you watch our video on the 5 S framework. It will provide you the tools to create study systems designed to aid recall.
      Also, use AI as a tool to help you prepare. It's a great way to get on top of your goals and ideas; just give it a super specific prompt of what you need, what your timeline is, your subjects, and you are good to go.

For example I asked it to summarise a movie that wasn't made in english and it just made up something. And although it does speak other languages and can research in other languages as far as I know. It also made up a poem when I asked it To mention A specific poet's work about a certain topic and because. It couldn't find it so just made up false facts. Be careful with that😂

    • @jacksonxiong7883
      @jacksonxiong7883 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I used Anki. Anki is perfect for anatomy, you are just using it wrong. You clip an image of the structure you need to identify, and identify it. Plain and simple. I got an easy A in anatomy cause of that.

    • @marlenemay4310
      @marlenemay4310 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You could also use Noteability.
      First I would scan the page of your textbook into the app. Next you can use those specificly designed study stickers which hides the name and shows it again if you tap on it. So it is basically active recall and you quiz yourself the whole time.
      This is only the repetition part to make sure the information really sticks.
      To get the information in your brain the first time, the loci method or mnemonic is really helpful. To break it down to you, you basically read the name and just associate the sound of this word with an image or something you already know. Or you ascociate the name with an other therm which sounds familiar. The best images are funny or sexual ones the weirder the better.
      For example: Bradycardia -> Brady as in Tom Brady, he is a football player. To remember that Bradycardia means a slow heart rate, you could imagine an image that Tom Brady is a slow football player and you dislike him therefore. And now you created a strong image even with emotions which is hate in this case.
      And you go on and on with these images. Especially in medicine one of THE key concepts are these memory places you create.
      It is also important to know the latein vocabulary, so you really and deeply understand the location. And again you can learn this with the loci method.
      Wish you good luck and remember repetition and lots of quizing is key!

    • @marlenemay4310
      @marlenemay4310 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Furthermore, yesterday I saw a video of Dr. Justin Sung and he said that the fun method to study anatomy is if you image that you will perform an actual operation on another human being and their life depends on it.
      This may sound like a lot of pressure. But you will turn this into a game. You could also use your teddy bear as a patient and explain and image all the nerves or bones to him.
      This method will also ensure that you will pay attention to the necessarity of the subject and why you should this instead of this.
      There are also some other tips especially for med students in Justins recent video. Maybe check it out, but only in your study break not as a procrastination.
