Absolutely…this is a treat to see Jen every day. My favorite gluten free bread is Little Northern Bakehouse (sprouted honey oat bread is my favorite flavor). It’s in the refrigerated section at Sprouts. The key to GF bread is always toasting it!
So true what a great comment thank you Jen has been my dinner companion for the past 4 days I dislike eating alone it’s has been so lovely thank you Jen
I have Celiac’s so im gluten free 100%. Canyon Bakehouse is probably the best. Its not cheap (like $8.99 a loaf in my grocery store at least) but Costco has a pack of 2 for $9! The way they are packaged it lasts a long time without getting moldy or needing to freeze.
You can always use corn tortillas to make breakfast burritos. My latest obsession for breakfast, however, has been Chia pudding. Yes, it's been a thing for awhile but I finally tried it and now I have it every morning - 2T chia seeds, 1/2 cup almond milk, a couple of squirts of liquid Stevia, about a teaspoon of pure vanilla extract, sugar free maple syrup, about 4 crumbled pecans and about half a cup of fresh blueberries, sprinkled with cinnamon. You can use other sweeteners like pure honey, agave, pure maple syrup, etc. You can even add in a little nutmeg for the holidays.
I'm watching this while I try to do work, and had to pause and go back when you said Nightmare Before Christmas. I swore I heard that wrong, but nope. Lol, love it.
What's funny is I didn't even remember she had written in that book until I opened it. Such a valuable thing to have as just recently she's started losing her handwriting.
Jen, I have a friend who has celiac disease and here are his favorite sliced breads - TraderJoe’s has great GF white bread, bagels, and raisin bread. Walmart carries a GF English muffin which is his favorite. They also carry a udi bread that is pretty good called heritage style honey white soft and delicious. This bread is about regular size bread instead of the usual 2”x2”. Other followers may have already given you this info but, just in case, I thought I would share.
I love your Christmas books! I was an elementary school librarian for 30 years, and I just retired this fall. I would read several of your books to my students every year. The Mary Engelbreit was my favorite. I am missing it this year!
We use Udi’s GF bread at the cafe where I work and we often have guests ask what brand we use because they’re pleasantly surprised. I’ve also heard it’s best when toasted.
First of all.. I love how lovely your hair looks…wish I had natural curls. The table of Christmas books is a great idea…my granddaughter will love it She is a total bookworm. The TH-cam course sounds good…I often think I’d like to do it but the editing side of things…put me off, technology and I are not happy bed fellows… I’m loving the changes in your channel….I feel personally that it’s more in-depth and just satisfying in the contents. I’m learning Spanish at the moment I’m enjoying it but it’s getting harder…been learning for 6 month via Duolingo. I do love you cellar Christmas corner…..and the advent calendar’s 👍🇬🇧
As a naturally wavy and, now, naturally gray woman, I get it! Letting my hair dry curly, with product in it, is great - the first day. Then it gets unruly, especially in the summer. Winter time is better for it, but then it's freezing here in NH so who wants to walk around with a wet head for a couple of hours? I do find it behaves better if I keep it longer. The weight of it keeps it from getting to crazy.
If I was thinking of starting a utube channel I would take your course in a heart beat. I find that you explain things very well and you are quite inciteful. Love vlogmas #4!
I loved seeing all your Christmas books! I have Olive the Other Reindeer, too! And a pile of many others. I love "Mr. Willowby's Christmas Tree". It's so sweet. If you happen upon it, give it a look. 😊🎄
Freezing bread, toasting bread, or both, lowers its glycemic index. Lowering the glycemic index lowers its inflammation effect. All my bread products go directly from the grocery store to the freezer.
Hi Jen! I have a gluten intolerance and I also have Hashimoto’s. I find avoiding soy and alcohol along with my gluten free diet helps a lot with my inflammation. I can recommend Schar bread. They have the best rolls hands down! Mission makes the best tortillas and carbonaut bagels are very soft too. Gratify has very yummy pretzels and siete has other good snacks and products. Make sure you read food labels carefully, as there are many sneaky gluten ingredients under other names. I hope this helps! ❤
It's been a minute since I had a Whole Foods near me, but I used to get their brand bread mix and throw it in the bread machine. Even when I quit gf, I'd still buy their bread mix. They also had a gf brownie mix that was better than standard mixes.
Seriously loving the everyday posts...no pressure! 😂 also I didn't know that about the champagne flutes...at least you drank it out of the right glass...that's what matters to me. I'm pretty sure if I held something by the stem it would spill. They also make stemless champagne flutes...so what do you do then?
I also put a stack of Christmas books and out every year. Mine include A Christmas Carol with the same illustrations as the original, a first edition of Miracle on 34th Strrt, a Golden Book of The Night Before Christmas that my kids practically wore out when they were little, same with Frosty the Snowman, an illustrated Twelve Days of Christmas, and then the most precious one Santa Claus and His Elves by Mauri Kunnas - how they live daily, how they work making toys, how they celebrate Christmas, how they prepare for the big day, and how they vacation afterwards. The text and illustrations are beautiful, wonderful and funny.
Jen…what curl product do you use when you air dry? I really like the way your hair looks when you air dry and I’m always on a mission for the right curl products
Best Christmas Pagent Ever is one of my favorite Christmas books. My mom read it to me when I was little and now I'm reading it to my nephew. There's also a new movie adaptation of it this year too!
I had The Christmas Kitten book when I was a kid. memories. I find Trader joes gluten free white bread to be decent. Also there is a place called Lilac Patisserie in Santa Barbara which is 100% Gluten free. Their bread is amazing and they do ship although it is pricey.
Did I leave a comment, I meant to... B Free white is my favorite. It's the closest to sourdough in my memories. It's hard to find though. Canyon Bakehouse mountain white is my regular daily favorite. I prefer it in the freezer section.
Totally relate to the sadness you can feel with gf bread. I tested all the options since I had to go gluten free almost 10 years ago and Canyon Bakehouse is a really good option.

My Curly hair lost its curl during menopause which I am not happy about and I have also embraced my natural grey - 4 years now and it all natural various shades of grey but better condition even if my curl has vanished! Xx
You really get used to the taste of gluten free bread the more that you have it. But it's best toasted anyway. However, you probably have some gluten free bakeries you could order from? I'm not sure, I'm in the UK and there are some online suppliers which are great. I like white schar loaf for toast, it just makes such good toast. Love it with scrambled eggs and salmon, unsure if you have that brand. They also have a super seedy one which is called vitality loaf or something and that's also v good toasted. I've been primarily gluten free for many years after I constantly had bloating, tummy pain, feeling sick but also a lot of anxiety/low mood/migraines. All the physical stuff went away. The psychological aspect reduced massively also.
I love Canyon Bakehouse 7-Grain Sandwich Gluten free Bread from Walmart. It comes frozen i think, but i just leave it out (not sure if that's okay, but i've been fine lol)
