My daughter went through IVF after trying for 7 years to conceive, you are correct when you say at least you don’t have to go through the ups and downs of testing and procedures. I must say IVF is not for the faint of heart and takes both of you to work together on this journey. You must remember the prize at the end of the process, we now have two beautiful grandchildren that were both IVF babies. I am grateful for the science that makes this possible. You can do this, together!!

I am pretty needlephobic, so the entire IVF process was incredibly daunting, but I think you will find that you are even stronger than you realize. The entire process brought my husband and I closer than ever, and I wouldn't change a thing about our journey. I was the same age as you are when we started the IVF process, and just a few weeks after I turned 29, my sweet baby boy was born. He turns two next week, and we are about to undergo our second round of IVF this summer to hopefully give him a little sibling. It was hard for them, they found other couples doing the same and formed strong bonds and friendships with them and now that they are on the other side, having their first baby and they have the embryos for their next babies, they are so thrilled and wonderful parents. Wow you are an incredibly strong and stable person. I know it doesn’t seem like it because you deal with so much. But those things would cripple most people. The fact that you can discuss them and be open and try to put priority on your mental health is a huge hurtle. Good for you for doing your best. You don’t always have to be happy or collected. But I’m glad you have found a way to still be those things when you want to be.

I had to rehome a dog because my mom is 70 years old and lives with me and he would knock her down just trying to play. It was absolutely heart wrenching. I cried at any mention of my dog for three weeks. That was 3 years ago- I still get random updates on his well being and I’m glad I took the time necessary to make sure he had a really good home. Like you im all in when I get a pet for better or worse but sometimes you have no choice.
My husband and I just found out this week that he also suffers from male factor infertility. It’s been so difficult to process and also very lonely feeling. I’m so glad you made this video. Very helpful to hear someone going through the same thing.

My 17 year old cat who was my best friend through the majority of my life passed away recently. She was clearly old and slowing down but that didn't make it any easier to say goodbye. We have been dealing with our cats regressing and being aggressive with each other and I am truly so sorry. It has been one of the worst things I have ever had to go through and I can’t imagine how hard that was on you both. And about a year ago I found out that I am most likely infertile and my heart truly goes out to you. But always remember that you aren’t alone 🩷

My husband has chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) and was diagnosed about 2 years ago and fertility issues due to chemo meds he has to take every day are something that has been constantly in the back of my mind whenever the topic of kids and a family come up. We haven’t done any testing yet as we aren’t actively trying, but it’s still something I worry about. The cat convo had me tearing up. My cats and I have had it rough over the last three years, in that time I've lost four (three to kidney disease, one to mouth cancer) and gained two (took home our stray camp cat and had a stray kitten left on our porch). I had six cats inside at one point which was so amazing❤ Currently I have three and I know what you mean about the house feeling empty. I feel that way every day. I really admire you for trying your hardest and recognising that it wasn't fair on anyone to continue as was. I’ve spent the past year and a half dealing with my own fertility struggles on both mine and my husband’s parts so my heart goes out to you both. It felt super isolating and frustrating but thankfully after multiple rounds of IUI and medication changes we were able to conceive. Thank you so much for talking about your struggles to conceive and about Hayden’s health history. My husband and I have a similar story; he has chronic end stage renal disease and had his first kidney transplant at 12 after two years of dialysis. He had his second transplant in 2012 and may be needing his third here soon. We tried to get pregnant for about a year before deciding to go through testing and the doctors have come to the conclusion that his anti-rejection medication has caused his “load” count to be low which is why we haven’t conceived. We tried IUI twice to no success and are now at the stage where IVF is our only option. But with his kidney health declining we feel like trying to juggle that along with IVF would be too hard. I really appreciate you being so honest and vulnerable about it. Also, I am working on a novel as well and will be participating in NaNo and would love to see writing updates from you if you don’t have the mental capacity for full writing vlogs.
Love my 6yo ivf daughter. The process is incredibly tough, and a successful pregnancy is not always the outcome, BUT stay hopeful, because God has a unique and perfect plan for your family. So many have made this journey, you are not alone in any of your feelings. 🙏🏻💕

That's a whole hell of a lot of hard stuff to process in a short time. I hope it all goes well. I'm also really, really terrified of needles and just had bloodwork done in re: birth control. Sending love and good vibes with everything you’re going through! As someone who gets fairly regular blood draws, my biggest tip is to be well hydrated every time, it makes the whole process go much quicker. I’m often really dehydrated and it’s always a problem😅
I am sending all my love about the IVF and Pickles. I tried to adopt a kitty and he and my cat were fighting non-stop and it broke my heart to rehome the foster but he is so happy now. Also, there is no need to include books I just love your videos no matter what.

Also when you where talking about how your pets and having a routine helps you with your mental health I was nodding so hard my neck hurts. I've a dog, and some days he is literally the only reason why I get out of bed and actually DO stuff (take him for a walk, feed him etc.), coz, man, sometimes it's so bad the only thing I'm capable of is breathing, barely so. You're incredible. I hope you'll get everything you want, all the cats and kids and books and cookies and music and friends and travelling your heart desires. You deserve the best.
Sending so much positive energy your way! And I related to your situation with Pickles so much! I had the exact same situation a few years ago with a previous cat. Got her as a kitten and she was great with my other, older cat until she hit 1.5 years old and suddenly did a 180 and was brutally attacking him every chance she got. I did all the same things you mentioned and also talked to a cat behavioralist in my area who told me that there are definitely cases where cats just can’t be re-introduced no matter what you do. After keeping them separated for months in a one bedroom apartment (which was stressful af for all three of us) I made the heart breaking decision to rehome her. I feel so hard for you going through that because even though you know they’re in a less stressful home, it’s hard not to internalize it as a personal failure (even tho it’s totally not). I was someone who always swore I’d never get rid of an animal no matter what and it was hard to realize that wasn’t true after all, so my heart goes out to you. We both did way more than the average person would in that situation, and in the long run you did what was best for the kitties even at the expense of your own emotions ❤

Wishing you well. I went through IVF. I will encourage you to get into a support group prior to starting the process and then continue while you go through the process. If you want to carry a baby of your own. Adoption is also an option. I went through 3 cycles if you are wondering. Every woman is different and every couple but support is always a good idea. You got this!

my husband and I had to do IVF for our first children- twin boys, it was one of the hardest journeys as a couple it is definitely a lot to process. but i'm insanely grateful of our family now. it is a very humbling process- i have nothing but hope and faith for you when the process starts, and thank you for sharing!
I’m so sorry about the situation with Pickles. My cat is five and he is the love of my life. He had some general aggression when he was 1.5ish and it was suggested to us to get a kitten so that they could play together and kind of redirect his energy. We got a kitten (named her Pepper ❤) and for a whole week, none of us slept. We thought we had introduced them well enough but we didn’t. My cat would hunt this kitten constantly. He wouldn’t leave her alone. We’d keep her in a bathroom separate from him while we were at work and then try to engage them more. Pepper started having some bathroom issues and was clearly terrified. We felt she didn’t deserve to live like that. We rehomed her to a friend who had a cat from the same litter my cat was from. She settled right in and is so loved. I think my cat may just need to be the only cat. We got a puppy who is now 2.5 and my cat doesn’t super love him but tolerates him.

I appreciate that you’ll be time stamping things in the future because I’ve had two miscarriages in the last year and my husband and I are still working through everything and trying to find answers. I’ve been watching you for a few years now and I cannot wait to see how your channel evolves to include your lifestyle and the things you’re going through because important topics should be transparent! My husband has chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) and was diagnosed about 2 years ago and fertility issues due to chemo meds he has to take every day are something that has been constantly in the back of my mind whenever the topic of kids and a family come up. We haven’t done any testing yet as we aren’t actively trying, but it’s still something I worry about. I would love to see your journey through this (as much as you want to share of course) and will continue to support and keep you both in my thoughts❤ thank you for always being so relatable and transparent and I’m excited to see what is coming for you!

We have all seen how much you love on your fur babies, I can’t imagine anyone placing judgment for what needed to be done. So sorry for what you have been going through and thank you for being this vulnerable with us.
My sister and brother-in-law have been through IVF a few times since they discovered their fertility issues. It was painful and exhausting but now they have two beautiful kids and are gearing up for #3! Keep your head up and share as much as you feel comfortable!

I love rag dolls! I had a rag doll from age 8-22, she was the runt of her litter, so she was tiny compared to most rag dolls. She was my fluffy shadow.

The cat convo had me tearing up. My cats and I have had it rough over the last three years, in that time I've lost four (three to kidney disease, one to mouth cancer) and gained two (took home our stray camp cat and had a stray kitten left on our porch). I had six cats inside at one point which was so amazing❤ Currently I have three and I know what you mean about the house feeling empty. I feel that way every day. Here's hoping more new loves find their way into your life!
I would LOVE a perfume tour! Also, my husband and I went to the UK for 2 weeks for our honeymoon five years ago and it was incredible.

I'm sorry to hear what you have been going through with both the IVF news and Pickles' sad departure. I really admire you for trying your hardest and recognising that it wasn't fair on anyone to continue as was. That really takes another level of strength and maturity, and truly a case of 'if you love them let them go'. You're a very responsible pet owner and clearly so full of love and care! Happy to hear you can still get updates, and I really hope that your heart is filled with some adorable kittens in the near future!
In lighter news I am so hyped for more lifestyle content from you! I'll literally watch anything you put out, I actually had no interest in romance books when I first subscribed to you (I am now very interested in romance books lol), so i'll truly just watch you for you!
Lastly I'm from Ireland and would gladly give tons of recommendations! Definitely visit the west of Ireland (Galway) if you can, it's a lot more cultural and Connemara is visually stunning - but I won't bombard you with recs until youre planning something. The UK is stunning too and London is always a fun time, we're eloping to the highlands next year so I can definitely recommend Scotland too!

Urgh I can’t tell you how nice it is for you to be so open about your journey! My husband and I are also currently going through IVF using an egg donor and it can definitely feel like an isolating experience so and wishing all the best for you guys! ❤
I’ve spent the past year and a half dealing with my own fertility struggles on both mine and my husband’s parts so my heart goes out to you both. It felt super isolating and frustrating but thankfully after multiple rounds of IUI and medication changes we were able to conceive. I hope the best for the both of you as well and I’m glad you have a strong support system around you. And I’m glad you were able to find a wonderful woman to rehome pickles too. Lots of love to you ❤

My husband and I have a similar story; he has chronic end stage renal disease and had his first kidney transplant at 12 after two years of dialysis. He had his second transplant in 2012 and may be needing his third here soon.
We tried to get pregnant for about a year before deciding to go through testing and the doctors have come to the conclusion that his anti-rejection medication has caused his “load” count to be low which is why we haven’t conceived. We tried IUI twice to no success and are now at the stage where IVF is our only option.
But with his kidney health declining we feel like trying to juggle that along with IVF would be too hard.
I really appreciate you being so honest and vulnerable about it.
Also, I am working on a novel as well and will be participating in NaNo and would love to see writing updates from you if you don’t have the mental capacity for full writing vlogs.
Love my 6yo ivf daughter. The process is incredibly tough, and a successful pregnancy is not always the outcome, BUT stay hopeful, because God has a unique and perfect plan for your family. So many have made this journey, you are not alone in any of your feelings. 🙏🏻💕

Just broke down last night trying to come to terms with infertility after just over a year now. It’s really difficult to process especially when you feel like you are going through it alone and everyone around you is getting pregnant. That's a whole hell of a lot of hard stuff to process in a short time. I hope it all goes well. I'm also really, really terrified of needles and just had bloodwork done in re: birth control. I hope your journey with fertility testing and IVF is a beautiful one and I'm looking forward to updates. I truly love booktube, but the people I make the most time to sit down and watch with no distractions are people like you, who have big hearts and personalities and always make me laugh/smile. Sending love and good vibes with everything you’re going through! As someone who gets fairly regular blood draws, my biggest tip is to be well hydrated every time, it makes the whole process go much quicker. I’m often really dehydrated and it’s always a problem😅
I am sending all my love about the IVF and Pickles. I tried to adopt a kitty and he and my cat were fighting non-stop and it broke my heart to rehome the foster but he is so happy now. Also, there is no need to include books I just love your videos no matter what.

I'm really amazed at your honesty and strength, it's inspiring, and I wish you and all your family the best in this world, truly. Also when you where talking about how your pets and having a routine helps you with your mental health I was nodding so hard my neck hurts. I've a dog, and some days he is literally the only reason why I get out of bed and actually DO stuff (take him for a walk, feed him etc.), coz, man, sometimes it's so bad the only thing I'm capable of is breathing, barely so.
You're incredible. I hope you'll get everything you want, all the cats and kids and books and cookies and music and friends and travelling your heart desires. You deserve the best.
Sending so much positive energy your way! And I related to your situation with Pickles so much! I had the exact same situation a few years ago with a previous cat. Got her as a kitten and she was great with my other, older cat until she hit 1.5 years old and suddenly did a 180 and was brutally attacking him every chance she got. I did all the same things you mentioned and also talked to a cat behavioralist in my area who told me that there are definitely cases where cats just can’t be re-introduced no matter what you do. After keeping them separated for months in a one bedroom apartment (which was stressful af for all three of us) I made the heart breaking decision to rehome her. I feel so hard for you going through that because even though you know they’re in a less stressful home, it’s hard not to internalize it as a personal failure (even tho it’s totally not). I was someone who always swore I’d never get rid of an animal no matter what and it was hard to realize that wasn’t true after all, so my heart goes out to you. We both did way more than the average person would in that situation, and in the long run you did what was best for the kitties even at the expense of your own emotions ❤

Wishing you well. I went through IVF. I will encourage you to get into a support group prior to starting the process and then continue while you go through the process. If you want to carry a baby of your own. Adoption is also an option. I went through 3 cycles if you are wondering. Every woman is different and every couple but support is always a good idea. You got this!

My husband and I have been trying for a baby for now 6 years, and this is so so hard. I have PCOS and hypothyrroid problems and these years of trying are really hard on my mental and financially. I send you so so so much good energy. ❤

I know the process of IVF is very daunting, and that it will be very hard on you, but please remember to not focus on the worst case scenario, because the best case scenario is just as likely!! I know this will be so hard for you, and I am just so sorry. Thank god that chemo saved his life, but I’m sure it’s been devastating for him too, so please pass on our love to him too. my husband and I had to do IVF for our first children- twin boys, it was one of the hardest journeys as a couple it is definitely a lot to process. but i'm insanely grateful of our family now. it is a very humbling process- i have nothing but hope and faith for you when the process starts, and thank you for sharing!

I’m so sorry about the situation with Pickles. My cat is five and he is the love of my life. He had some general aggression when he was 1.5ish and it was suggested to us to get a kitten so that they could play together and kind of redirect his energy.
We got a kitten (named her Pepper ❤) and for a whole week, none of us slept. We thought we had introduced them well enough but we didn’t. My cat would hunt this kitten constantly. He wouldn’t leave her alone. We’d keep her in a bathroom separate from him while we were at work and then try to engage them more. Pepper started having some bathroom issues and was clearly terrified. We felt she didn’t deserve to live like that. We rehomed her to a friend who had a cat from the same litter my cat was from. She settled right in and is so loved.
I think my cat may just need to be the only cat. We got a puppy who is now 2.5 and my cat doesn’t super love him but tolerates him.
