Your experience and observations are 100% real and very correct. I wish many people will take your advice and live a life of peace. Home buying is not a race and it doesn't have to be in Ontario alone.
I live in Ontario Canada and I agree with you 100%. I am Not buying a property in Canada. It doesn’t make sense. Worst case I will buy across the border in USA and still remain in rent here in Canada.
Firstly i agree no one should be pressured to buy a house, but i do get the ideology behind it. Except you are waiting to get money to buy a house cash ,people are encouraged to get in early because a mortgage is minimum 25-30years & you are not advised to be paying mortgage as a retired person. Secondly knowing people who have bought in alberta living in ontario esp precon has pros & cons . Precon Builders can have alot of stress with it, secondly a bank financing a house in a province you dont live in /would rent ,would see it as an investment property which means you have to put 20% down by law. This among other factors like appreciation value of land & property over time incase of emergency disposal are why people save & buy properties in ontario. Also life is perspective somepeople are comfortable paying rent , buying cars & travelling whilst some are comfortable acquiring land. To each his own. Land acquistion or real estate howver is never a bad choice we need more blacks to acquire lands here thats how territory ownership starts (history backs this) . In markham, oakville etc occupied by the chinese cause they came in masses & joined & acquired properties there ,today its one of the most expensive places. Same for indians in the west. But before you acquire you must be well informed like time to buy , type of mortgage to get etc people should research & ask questions esp from other races. ❤❤
Tomi please don't let anyone pressure you into buying house. Like u said ensure you are very comfortable before venturing you know our pole are good at this rat race of sizing up people who owns a house n who is on rent.
I agree with you. Do it when you are ready. Might also help to start with investment or a starter home get on the property ladder and eventually get rental income from others to get your dream home. There are so many ways. Buying a house here seems different from Ontario, your monthly cost in a nice place not too far from Dublin (30 to 50mins) is less than renting in the city of Dublin. Also Equity increases etc ..😊
Where in Alberta do you intend to buy a property of 200K??? It can't be in the big city and if in rural area not a New home....have lived in Ontario, Alberta & Saskatchewan....and 10k as down payment doesn't exist....minimum down is 5%
I own a property for 20 years in Canada. No one can tell me that buying a house in Canada is a bad idea. I am even planning to buy another property in the nearest future.
The pressure to buy is a self imposed pressure. You only buy when you are financially ready. Very well said. Canada is no more for the faint hearted. I pray the real estate market gets better, Alberta is definitely better than Ontario, BUT even Alberta has been creeping up in the last 5 years .
3k is not bad for Ontario. your house looks big. The rent was what discouraged me from choosing Ontario . Alberta and Saskatchewan are a different story entirely. I know folks in Ontario that can't wait to sell of their house...the mortgage is very high for them. Mortgage is good but the problem is people buy more than they can afford comfortable with, the they start ruining heletas seketas😂😂
Sis, again I have to fact check u, when you say you can build or tell a builder that you no longer interested in a home and walk away from buying in other province that's not true. Only if you have an assignment sale in the case of a new build, but resale if agreed and you haven't paid yet you won't loose your down payment...
Hmmn even if it's a condo, build equity, the problem is usually that we want to buy more than what we can afford. But then again Ontario is annoyingly expensive.
@@giftedchild9490y'all keep shouting equity, what do you know about?😂😂. Have you factored in maintenance and others? Literally every month, something will break and you need to fix it. Are you 100% of your job? Oh, you want to join the rat race..lmao. This credit system dey shark Nigerians. Una go learn. Don't call friends and family to borrow money o.

In a nutshell, don't lie to yourself neither compare yourself. Everybody will be alright.
Please take your time my dear
Hey Tomi,if you have your way and assuming you aren't constrained by provincial rules...will you leave Ontario?
Honestly, No
If I may ask, are you a license realtor?. If not go get a license before asking people to buy a house from you.
With the present high interest rates in Canada....i don't think buying a house is really economical...I think it’s draining
