    I own two BTL properties. Never raised the rents on them and maintain them well. Two great tenants. This is the last time I’m renting as soon as they leave they will be sold. There are few properties to rent around here now.

      To never raise the rent is to give a discount every year which compounds until you make a loss.

      @@M896 I agree. Fortunately I am working and don't rely on the properties at the moment to give me a living. The Mortgages are paid and I made profit on capital gain. they will be sold and I retire.

    Millions more houses have been built since thatcher gave councils the choice to sell houses off
    The difference is the houses built are private instead of council owned.
    The issue is, despite the housing stock increase, demand has risen far faster. Mass immigration

    There was nothing wrong with selling council housing. The issue was not using the proceeds to re-invest in further social housing. Allowing people to buy their council homes created huge wealth in the economy. It also gave those in social housing the aspiration to own their own property, further creating a stake in their community. It also created aspirational children who grew up in those 'safe' houses, who were less likely to repeat the social housing, benefit dependent cycle. Thus reducing the benefit burden (£254 Billion) on the country. It is a win win. Building social housing at scale is actually very cost effective. Councils have huge reserves of land that could easily be used. But if you use the proceeds of sale to pay down government debt instead of in investing in new stock and peoples futures, you end up where we are today. I speak from experience. My parents purchased our council house. It transformed our lives!

    Invest in the Bitcoin before retiring by diversifying across assets, allocating a small portion of your portfolio, staying updated on market trends, and considering long-term holding to balance risk and growth.

      I feel sympathy for our country, low income people are now suffering to survive yet inflation and recession keep increasing daily, many families can't even enhance the good cost of living anymore. You've helped me a lot Sir Brian! Imagine I invested $50,000 and received $190,500 after 14 days

    M Thatcher didn’t sell off the council houses. She allowed the change of regs so councils could sell off ( had the option) their social housing stock. The councils then didn’t replace them and many tenants benefited, as well as the councils - most of which were in debt, hence the sell off. Unfortunately Mrs Thatcher is blamed for much, but history is rewritten by the current people. Nurses also benefited greatly as she increased pay substantially. People forget that nurses used to be paid a pittance, but it was increased to a good wage under her term.

    • @Miks2092
      @Miks2092 15 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thatcher is to blame, a council can't risk investing in house building, If they then have to sell to a Tennant at a discounted price. Why would you invest in building it, if you are forced to then sell it for no profit.

    Best time to buy is now, paper hand landlords selling out for cheap 🤣they will regret in 30 years. Inflation will go up and your property price will rise along. There is no limit they will increase minimum wage enough to get a mortgage so people will always be buying. DONT SELL YOUR HOUSE FOR CHEAP !! If house market crashes then the whole economy is finished.... then there is no point even having fiat money. If anything if house market crashes your house will still be worth something as opposed to useless fiat money which you can't exchange for anything. At least land will have some sort of value even if it means exchanging land for gold. IT COMES BACK TO BASICS. BUY LAND AND BUY PROPERTY IT ALWAYS MAKES YOU WIN IN THE LONG RUN.
