You got to remember the secondary you're watching was ranked 28th to 30th throughout the year and now we got to revamp secondary. This year is going to be better than last🙏🏽
I thought he was out. With his knee problems already. That play against Vita Vea on the Craig Reynolds TD was legendary. I was already a big fan of his, but this game made him a favorite. Too bad we lost Jonah Jackson and Brock Wright late in the game though. On the bright side, we signed Zack Ertz to replace Wright.
Glad to see the Lions playing well, their drought has gone on for so long. My mom is a 49ers' fan but I'd like to see the Lions head to their first Super Bowl.
Thanks. You are helping me to learn what formations are about. I usually just watch to see who gets the ball up and down the field and scores a touchdown, a field goal or the 1 to 2 extra points. 😂
That TD by Craig Reynolds was his only touch of the game. It was mostly Gibbs with a bit of Montgomery. I think they played Gibbs more because Tampa didn't see him when they played the first time.
Lions DC Aaron Glenn getting the absolute most he can get from the limited talent he has on defense. Lions basically have DE Aiden Hutchinson (97), DL Alim McNeill (54), LB Alex Anzalone (34), Nickle CB Brian Branch (32) and safety Ifeatu Melifonwu (6). They have CJ Gardner-Johnson (2) at safety but he's only played a few games this year. The corners are trash.
Tampa played well on the road..Baker threw some passes that defied physics, super accurate. It just takes one mistake to end a season. I completely agree that the 2 pt. conversion was a jackass call. What were they thinking?
So they talked about going for 2 at the end. The logic is that kicking an extra point has about 95% accuracy, while there is a 55% conversion rate when going for 2. Still don’t know if I agree with the decision, but the math checks out
Detroit lost LG Jonah Jackson (knee, had surgery) and TE Brock Wright (broken forearm) in this game. They signed TE Zach Ertz because they have no other TEs except this guy from Harvard I never heard of. The OL that got hurt on that Jared Goff sack is the center Frank Ragnow. Dude was in so much pain. He went back out though and was pivotal in a later rushing TD by Craig Reynolds. Going against Vita Vea, Ragnow is a warrior.
@@rashadwalker8218 Personally I think we should replace him next year. He's off the field more than on. I think we should invest in either another right guard or a center too. Because for example, when Ragnow is out we have to move Glasgow to center. Then we have to plug in a guard at his spot, so we have backups at 2 positions.
Another Ben Johnson masterpiece - the 4th and 1 TD in the 3rd, as you briefly started to mention, that was the 3rd string RB that they gave it to.. you know the defense was expecting pass/PA
Our drought is gone for good. We finally have a GM and head coach that know how to draft. We are stock full of young. Great players are 25 and under class is amazing
Unfortunately I don’t think Aaron Glenn is in high demand like Ben I give him one more year in Detroit before he’s out and only because he did go on interviews last year
@@BigR365 oh I agree teams want BJ a lot more than AG what I'm saying is BJ understands he needs more experience before becoming a head coach and he knows it that's why he hasn't left yet. He's only been calling plays for 3 years and before that he was just a position coach. He's def a up and comer and we will lose him eventually I just think he has enough self awareness to understand he needs to learn a lot more before being a general
Tampa went for two because the stats are that 55% of the time you will convert. If you do it on that score, if they get the ball back they can win the whole thing with just a TD and extra point. If you don't convert, the stats (55% conversion rate) say you are more likely than not to convert the second time, your odds of conversion increase. In that case you still send it into overtime. I don't like it because just because stats say you will covert 1 out of 2 doesn't mean you can't be denied twice, it just says that that of all the times teams try it they convert better than one out of two. You may have 5 in a row denied but then hit 5 in a row. It's not really a great strategy... (but it looks genius if it works)
He said in an interview they had trained for and recognized that exact play so Barnes knew it was coming/what the route was. He gave all the praise to the whole LB room and AG for the extra time watching film and breaking it down together. Great stuff.
Ben Johnson isn't leaving by Detroit Lions before. He makes a super bowl appearance. He's too young and up and coming. He knows he's not a head coach yet. He needs more stripes
Hey there!!!! I so appericate your breakdown and honestly!!!! Look out for my new channel this April. True female football mind. I am a die hard Lions fan since i was 8yrs old. I am stoked about keeping Ben Johnson! I will be discussing ever position of the team. We have a dozen free agents. We also have 65mil s. cap. Our first steps 2 new coaches on defense. I also do Madden on Twitch!! Do you do Twitch because would love to follow!!!!
Penei Sewell is an amazing athlete.

Bro I love your videos! I love the Lions but you're giving a whole new love for my team watching this and seeing how my boys look to other fan bases
good catch on Ragnow (the center) getting hurt on the Goff sack. He played the game and finished on a sprained ankle and knee. Dudes a warrior

Dude, love your genuine enthusiasm and appreciation of the game… subscribed!
Thanks man 👊🏾
Was there in sec 246 and I swear my ears are still ringing
Damn
Just curious, how much did your tickets cost. I heard they were even more expensive than the Rams game.

You missed the part at 4:45 where CJGJ flipped the ball to Baker, that was the point that the entire game changed. #OnePride

Jonah stays hurt for whatever reason.

Gotta break down the Lions vs Rams playoff game now you'll love everything about that game homie
Lions coming to battle 2024 get ready!
The ankles you're talking about getting broken are on lavonte David He's no joke and nobody knew why Tampa went for 2 on the last TD
Jamo bout to be way more comfortable bout to tear it up this year
The Detroit Lions channel put out better highlights. Shows replays and more of the defense along with offense
Will lose Aaron Glenn before we lose Ben Johnson

Thanks for the explanation but yea I don’t like the decision Tampa made
that was Derrick Barnes #55 (3rd year) first interception :)

Lions are going to have a top defense in 2024 to go alone with that offense and coaching staff! We haven’t seen nothing yet!
