They are weak right now. The "high skill" arguement is really just another way of saying their bad. If a faction takes extremelly high skill to be functional, that very skillfull player would just be better off playing another faction.
The biggest problem I have with playing bret since WH1 is that people know what you are going to bring and are the easiest faction to build against. I remember in game 1 just being rolled by chosen halberds with shaggoths on top of them. They could march down trebs before you could do much damage.
That used to be the Dwarfs' problem as well. They didn't have the tools to do anything different, so just knowing that the opponent was Dwarfs meant you could tailor a counter every time.
Thanks for posting a Bret batrep even though you lost. Much appreciated. Remember Grail Guardians have perfect vigour. Maybe a flesh to stone to support them in combat? Royal Pegs also have perfect vigour.
I've been drinking, so I can babble. I actually liked Turin's build, and think he could have won. But he had the trebuchets and the Fey Enchantress' Mortis Engine effect focused on the high-armor Zengors... There is a war Strategy that emphasizes that your ranged attackers focus-fire on your opponent's longest-range attacks, destroy that, then focus-fire on the next-longest ranged attack, etc., until eventually your opponent is just throwing rocks. Turin left the Tzeentch ranged attackers (pinkor demons) alone so they could SOFTEN UP his units, including his Pegasus Knights (which could not attack ground, so they were pin cushions)... The anti-air strength of those Pegasus Knights was VASTLY better than I had thought!
Barrier should have vulnerability to magical attack in a simular way to rigen have to fire. And Britonnia needs a anti infantry knight unit that can be use in a simular way to trolls and crypt horrors.
Would really love to see some wood elves with the new and improved wildwood rangers! Now that they have stealth and their new passive they look like real bunker busters
Great game as always! As for what factions I'd like to see in the future, I always like to see lots of variety. My favorite factions are Tomb Kings, Lizardmen, Skaven, Chaos Dwarfs, and any Elves, so seeing them is always great too!
I love these Bretonnia videos. Truly one of the most high skill ceiling factions in the game. Feels great to win with them. I really hope Bretonnia receives a fat DLC (preferably for free) sooner rather than later. I don't believe a rework will be enough.
Dwellers needs a damage buff or cost reduction. Sure the original version would delete units but it takes a long time to cast and was very expensive. It was rarely taken for those reasons even in the old version.
In my experience the Bretonnians struggle a lot with capture weight. Their cheapest infantry with full cap weight are battle pilgrims and they cost 600 gold apiece. Units like royal pegusus and hypogryph knights can work, but are very expensive and don't provide any cap weight, thus little ground control. You basically have to win the mobility game if you want to win as Bretonnia, if you can't you tend to lose.
Hi Turin! You're videos are super cool and inspired me and my friends to try (emphasis on try) to do our own little mini tww3 tournament, and I was wondering how much you use for funds for the armies. Keep up the awesome content!
Love the videos Turin! Razordons are my favourite unit, but haven't seen them played in PvP. I don't play PvP myself because I feel like I'd get wrecked. If you play Lizardmen video in the near future, toss out a pack of Razordon for me, yeah? :)
9:10 I don’t know what faction Screamers would be good against now. They cost more than Chaos Furies but have less models, less health and worse stats overall (namely in the melee attack and speed department). In both campaign and multiplayer with friends I don’t remember the last time I ever used Screamers.
I love me some blessed knights glowing with holy light from their asses and all other orifices... That ride on the Unga Bunga marauders was just epic! BUT...3 meter tall equally chaos blessed behemoth with armour as thick as a door... They would eat any knight for breakfast. Now that I think of it. Bretonnia has SUCH a limited roaster... There are no units in their entire roaster that can handle elite Halbert infantry. I think they need some sort of armour piercing ranged option. As we saw, the trebuchet just takes way too long. Maybe they could learn and borrow a thing or two from The Empire, Kislev and Cathay? You know, give their troops a 2 weeks crash course with a rifle? I guess thematically, it would clash... I mean conceptually, a French and British hybrid faction is an abject abomination as it is. A Bretonnian peasant with a gun would be more horrific than a chaos spawn. Ohh I got it ARBALÉTRIER and LONG BOWMEN! Age of empires had the answer all along! ARBALÉTRIER could be a unit with shorter range but HEAVY AP damage and shields (As they historically had) to help them a bit with counter range units. LONG BOWMEN would be longer range with some AP and some anti-large but no shields. Just food for thought. PS: If you are offended by the jokes, Then you are neither French nor British enough XD
Mh, propably lost with magic? Healing grail knights would be great, and then grail + pegasus has to clear up most of the infantry. Your micro is lacking a bit recently, it has been better i guess?
I'd like more good elf action, especially HE heavy metal, though I know you dislike them. I'm still hoping for a hero to save us. Unfortunately, it seems "pros" seem to steer away from HE and DE, with only the occasional WE. Other than that, maybe it's time for some good, old-fashioned Norscan unga bunga?
@@aloneinthelark5943The most recent total tavern season finals, I think it was season 6. A lot of really good HE and DE games in the finals and semis.
@@N0ahface Ah, thanks. I've seen those and yeah, they were fun, though that was over two months ago xD Rather sparse, I daresay. Would be awesome to have a (fresh) SFT with a strong HE contestant. I guess, I'll have to rewatch the old stream in the meantime.
It seems like every single game features Chaos, and most of the time it's Tzeentch, who are the most absurdly overtuned faction imo. I'd love to see games that don't involve Chaos.
I've never wanted Turin to lose more than in this video. I hate Bretonnia, absolute garbage faction, and I love all Chaos factions. And this CHAD is using mostly chaos warriors and chosen! No lame marauder spam! *swoon*
Jesus ! That Grail Knights charge in the flank of the marauders was movie-worthy ! 🤣
They were like time to mow the grass.
Thank you for playing Bretonnia. I wish we could see more of those games. But like you said. Few players can handle that faction sadly.
My favorite faction but I struggle to play them online
Indeed. My thanks as well. The struggle is real, they are so cool, its really a shame so many wont even touch the faction.
They are weak right now. The "high skill" arguement is really just another way of saying their bad. If a faction takes extremelly high skill to be functional, that very skillfull player would just be better off playing another faction.
@Weberkooks well yes and know. And army that relies on high micro and good knowledge of the match ups can be good but also require high skill
I'd personally love to see more Lizardmen play. Nailing epic shots with Hand of the Gods from Kroq'gar is one of my favorite things to witness

Cool to see the royal pegasus knights! I'd love to see more of the wood elves and less of tzeentch, nurgle, DoC and WoC in the future :)
Thanks for posting a Bret batrep even though you lost. Much appreciated. Remember Grail Guardians have perfect vigour. Maybe a flesh to stone to support them in combat? Royal Pegs also have perfect vigour.
Don't grail knights also have perfect vigor?
If you listen closely during the charge at 10:32, you can hear Ludacrious - Move Bitch.

Just commenting on one Turin video and another drops?! Back to back Chosen rumbles, my lucky day. Ty Turin
I cant help but cheer for the Brets in every matchup

I’m pretty sure your first treb did so much damage to the pillar it knocked it down 😂 one was shooting right into the whole first half haha
I really like seeing Tomb Kings battles.

Absolutely, nothing in total war has ever felt as good to me as cav micro and they are the true cav faction.
That 1 Treb was mostly shooting that pillar for some of the battle ^^
Show me some hot Lizard action Turin! Feel like I never see them anymore :(
I recommend The Lusty Argonian Maid.
Wow that tiny map made this battle a bloodbowl
Dwellers needs a damage buff or cost reduction. Sure the original version would delete units but it takes a long time to cast and was very expensive. It was rarely taken for those reasons even in the old version.
But it's also a vortex spell in a school that is all about battle support! I completely disagree that it should deal much damage at all.
This is what I hop on TH-cam for!
7:13 did the trebuchets break the tower? Didn't even know they were destructible
kinda curious for a elf-off: wood VS high, or wood vs dark.
Watch the finals of the last total tavern season for some really cool elf matches
Where is the TrueBrettonian (the korean player), when you need him most?
Hey @Turin I would love to see some type of 2v2 latter tournament, I think it would be quite an interesting event!

Oh my god, I AM doing well.
'Cause you posted.
''Every Bretonian player, all three of them'' haha
Would love to see more beastmen, by far my favourite faction :D
You definitely want foot squires to contest the chaos warriors. IDK how Tzeentch are supposed to deal with royal pegasus knights.
Hi Turin! You're videos are super cool and inspired me and my friends to try (emphasis on try) to do our own little mini tww3 tournament, and I was wondering how much you use for funds for the armies. Keep up the awesome content!
For domination, just use standard settings!
@ Thank you!

Skavens in need of love.
Thanks for your videos.
Love seeing some Tzeentch wins
Hey Turin! Any chance you will do commentary on low-rank matches, give feedback and comment on blunders and such?
For the lady! Honestly Bretonnia is the fastest click of my day for sure.
I see bretonnia i click
Omg they eradicated dwellers below wth! My favourite spell :(

Neglected factions? I feel like I don't see many orcs anymore.
Fun game.
More Lizardmen and WoC please
Oh boy! Another Tzeentch win! I love watching one of my most hated factions win every time they’re on screen!
New microphone, or am I trippin'
New encoding! Better quality videos as well from here on out.
That Title is an Artwork!
I am always happy to see some High Elves action.

This gave me a good chuckle, thank you and have a nice day xD
I prefer "good" vs "evil" and then some "neutral ones" like tomb kings. I hate chaos v chaos, just a lot of the same units.
Fudge. Turin playing Bretts but no joy :( and a grail knight nerf wtf?? Let the Lady have one cool thing CA!
I've given up all hope of a Bretonnia DLC by now. It will be the only thing that would get me back into this game 😢 that or a beefy norsca DLC
We'll see what the new plans will be after the current DLC plans are finished.

I never want Chaos to win. I hate all varieties of Choas
Pancreasnowork?
Pretty bored of seeing Tzeentch constantly, not to mention WoC/DoC every other match up.
