This is the best album review (revisit) that I've seen. The way that you both appreciate and identify many overlooked elements of her songs is soooo dope! Also, the video was edited perfectly. Y'all dropped a lot of gems on this video and made me appreciate this album even more than I did. This is still the epitome of a female rapper's debut album.
Watching this in 2022, I am still blown away by the nostalgia of this album. I think we all felt the same way when we first listened to this album..the feeling that Nicki Minaj was so inventive for the time period. Pink Friday showcases her trailblazing in action. I see so much of her in other notable artists like: Doja Cat, Megan Thee Stallion, Cardi B, even Beyonce's rapping style is very reminiscent of Nicki Minaj (think last verse on "Heated" from Renaissance). Plus countless others that I can't think of at this moment.
This album is in my top 5 favorite albums of all time it has played a big part in my life I remember when it came it broooo the songs were on radio heavy times were different back when it was out it was really a different time I lowkey too.
Nicki Minaj is my number one idol of all time! The power, confidence, joy and vulnerability she shows at the same time through out her discography is INSANE.
