Congratulations! We've had our habitat for about a year now and it's great! What we do for take down that helps is to pull the tent fabric into the truck from inside the bed.
I retire in 18 months and I’m looking at the adventure trailer atlas I loved your video on the habitat because I also I’m looking at the habitat but I really enjoyed your video thank you
Mike that's awesome about retirement man! I think I lean more towards the Atlas a bit since it can be insulated, but I haven't seen one in person. Don't get me wrong, I love my habitat but that Atlas it's pretty cool. Thanks for watching the videos. Let me know if I can help with anything else.
IVE HAD MY HABITAT FOR 3 YEARS. IVE GREATLY ENJOYED THE CAMPER. EVEN IN HIGH WINDS WITH THE NOSE OF THE TRUCK POINTED INO THE WIND- VERY LITTLE TENT FLAP AND NOISE.
It isn't perfect, but no topper is. I've put out a few videos uo on sealing my tailgate and the topper to the truck bed you might want to check out. I've got most of it solved, but parking on a downward incline in the rain I still get some water intrusion through the hatch tailgate area.
Thanks! Are there tent makers that have a tent that flips the opposite way (over the cab) so if you're in a parking lot, etc. you're not outside of your vehicle's footprint? ( I know there used to be a "FlipPac" or something that flipped towards the front of the vehicle but they're not made anymore? ) Thanks!
AT Overland does not make them that flip over the front, but I have heard of one or two people modifying their habitats to do exactly that. I can't share a picture on TH-cam, but if you go over to the AT Overland Toppers Facebook group and join I think there are photos to be found. it is a pretty cool idea, but would be a project for sure. Thanks for watching the videos!
Thank you so much for this thorough and easy to watch review. We have a couple of Tacomas, a ZR2, and a couple of Jeeps in our group. And we're after the ever alluring integrated camper. We're wondering what the Habitat on a Gladiator may be like. Watching this video helped get a good sense. Since adding the Habitat what have you done or experienced regarding the additional weight on the rig? Thank you
We have been in some pretty windy conditions and it held up great, but it's a tent so it still flaps like a tent. I had some leaking seams in the beginning before I seasoned the tent and it is sealed up now from what I can tell. Take a look at my video about seasoning the material on the Habitat. Thanks for watching
It’s semi permanent. The manufacturer AT Overland started offering corner jacks recently so that you can easily disconnect it and keep it freestanding somewhere if you wanted. They are built truck specific just like a canopy topper would be. If you sold your truck and the truck bed rails were a much different size you wouldn’t be able to reuse the same camper. Like you would sell your new Tacoma than be able to use it on a big Ram 2500. Hope that helps, thanks for watching.
Hey! How AT is behaving off the track? I was wondering whether you can go with it overland for a bit more difficult road conditions without being afraid for the entire thing to dismantle ;). Is it worsening capabilities of the car in that way in your view?
The AT Habitat is holding up well. It's not a fully welded system and uses flexible caulking between major seems that I would think give it some ability to flex and roll a bit. Honestly I haven't had anything start coming apart. Having the Habitat does add a little bit of top heaviness to the rig, but it hasn't been much of a limiting factor for the type of terrain I encounter. Gotta take it way sometimes in tighter trails or off camber suggestions. Thanks for watching
Absolutely! It's my favorite modifications to the truck for sure. Not to say I'm not interested in seeing other platforms down the road but the AT Habitat is a top of the pack option in my opinion. Thanks for watching the video and commenting
for 10K I really think the tent should fold in easier and you shouldnt have to use tarp clips. I really wanted one of these till I watched a few takedown videos, looks like harer than my rooftop tent which is with age starting to get annoying.
Man I would like into a AT Summit, GFC, Vagabond. I feel like.the wedge style campers and tents are really the fastest and easiest option out there. I love the room my Habitat gives us.
$12000 price for fabric tent. What a rip off. You can buy nice camper or travel trailer for that price which is made of hard material and washroom, kitchen. Spending 10000 or 12000 for fabric tent is not choice.

Love the tip. Are you doing this on ther sides towards the rear or front?

Enjoyed the walk through. I've been interested in one of these for a while now.

Exactly my experience with it
Well done!
looks great, enjoy!
It's a fun setup. Thanks for watching
Very helpful! Thanks for posting!
Glad you liked it. Thanks for watching.
Can you leave the bedding in the sleeping area? How does it stay when you flip it open and closed? Ty
@8:41 🤣 😂 ! Great video though, very informative. Thanks for the upload man!
Glad you enjoyed!
How is the topper in terms of being water/dust proof? Specifically where it seals to the truck bed itself and the tailgate.

Very good sir. Just may consider this model.
Thanks for watching Lenny. There are a lot of options out there for sure. Good luck and let me know if you have any questions.

Can you share where you were able to track down a carpet for the DC Truck bed?
Why does this dude sound like Badger from Breaking Bad? Also lucky you for being the first dude to get one. Everyone has to wait a year for theirs now
Yeah most campers in the overlanding market are a while out since it's a pretty cottage industry. Mine took about 4 months when I ordered.
Have you been in extreme winds? If so, how did it hold up? Or a good rainstorm. Any leaks?

Really nice and detailed review. I'm curious how this has held up after several trips. Any rattling or wear?
No the thing is solidly mounted with bolts. It isn't going to ho anywhere I don't believe.
Clint Biesinger we have had ours for 3 years and have no issues.
Nice truck m8 !!
Thanks for commenting Tamryn!
Is the full setup removable off the truck bed if I where to sell my truck or is it a permanent setup like alu cab

Still using it? Still liking it?
