I really enjoy watching your road trip adventures with Sadie. I am 71 yrs. Old and too old to do what you do but always wanted to. Thank you for sharing your road trips ! Stay safe !

Love how Sadie was waiting for her chauffeur . I have been thru Mt Pleasant a few times and just loved the old charm of small towns. Shout out to the Evergreen motel. Beautiful, clean nice people.
Hello Carolyn and Sadie , really nice video! All of the time that you have spent with Sadie has really paid off , she is very VERY intelligent!! Thanks for taking us along and thumbs UP! 👍
Iowa is a beautiful state. It's very green with many quaint, little towns. If you want a quiet life away from the problems that come with denser populations, Iowa is an excellent choice.
I have seen a mountain, but you travel through parts of our beautiful country I know I will never ever see and the added history information is such a treat 🥰
I drove out to Colorado in 1973 with my brother. I was 18 yrs old and my brother was 16..My dad was not too happy about that.Drove up that big mountain Pikes Peak. Camped in tents along the way. Drove from NJ and made it to Indiana late and never paid, just fell asleep and woke early to set off. Nice video
Hi Carolyn and Sadie, Loved you am doggie playtime footage❣️ The hazy morning looked so serene🫶🏼 For those of us not on the road for summer,(Alaska Residency requirement) you keep the call of adventuring alive! Thank you🙏🏻
Been on the road for 12 years, 6÷ full time. Have a winter properly in Florida because I am old, 74 soon. Really enjoyed his video because you showed how much physical work there is to this but also the beauty. Thanks for teaching me about so many things, especially solar I am ready to get it this month 😊❤😊
That storm got everyone, I saw it coming and was shutting up the barn when the hail hit / half dollar size. The sound was so loud on the metal roof that my OTTB freaked out, ran outside, got pelleted with hail ran back in & again ran out from the noise & back in about 5 times until he saw me & the pony hunkered down in the back of the run-in shed. Glad you made it thru it, blessing always & safe travels.
I first saw the Rockies when I was 16 and it has been a love affair ever since! I am 76 now my ashes will be splashed in Colorado. My son, who also loves Colorado has agreed to one last road trip! Thank you for seeing things my way! 💗
I started watching you as you headed to Alaska. You have changed over time. You're always so interesting and down to earth. I loved the trip through Iowa. I have family there, and I'm fr. MN. I loved your trip through MN back then. Yes, so many people just stay in sm towns like I came from, and can't imagine leaviing. I left on my 18th birthday and went west. In 83 I moved to FL. I love the ocean and scuba diving, but the mountains always pull me back I've travled back and forth 6 times. I'm 76 and ready to go again. You being so relaxed out there gives me that sense of joy and love for the open road and nature. I see you walking in bare feet and know you are so grounded. Thank you, Caroline, for just being.
I live full-time in my 5th wheel in the Colorado Rocky Mountains at 9,000 ft. I'm originally from Colorado and after years living in various states from Maryland, Fla., Texas, Minn., Wisc., Tenn., AZ., and Calif., I came back home to Colorado where my heart lies.
I went out west last winter and got to see the mountains in New Mexico, Arizona and California. It was magnificent, breathtaking and stunning. I took many photos I will never forget the feeling I got driving through the mountains. That was my first time. I feel everyone should drive through the mountains atleast once in their lifetime.

I grew up and lived on Lookout Mountain near Chattanooga, TN I can't imagine living where it is all flat land, but your videos shows very interesting places in the plains.
Your music of choice is the BEST I've heard you play on your channel, keep it up !! Very soothing, out me right there in the beauty of Iowa. Didn't know Iowa had so many trees.... Great video, I think my FAVORITE ✅
Just seeing you poring the hot water in b that paper filter for coffee is so calming so many of the reasons I love this ...the little but big things...❤❤❤

Such a great channel. No pretentious bragging, trying to make it all look easy or making it look so difficult when one has a partner and therefore more resources in labor, income etc. Just an honest and enjoyable day in the life of a solo senior and her lovely pup. Many great moments of artistic beauty and inspiration on the way as well. Thank you for sharing Carolyn! My dogs and I thoroughly enjoy your channel!
I gotta take my hat off to your dedication with Sadie and making it work with a Working dog……. We once tried to buy a Red Cloud Kelpie from a Pet Shop……and were refused, as we needed to have 10 Acres or more property to be able to buy her. I’m so glad that Pet store had such dedication to finding the right forever owner for those pups, as we would have soon found out how unsuitable we were to own one!! Ended up getting a Purebred Rhodesian Ridgeback……that was the love of my life for 13 yrs …….Kudos from Western Australia ❤🫡👍🇦🇺🇦🇺
I really appreciate the facts you share about the town!! Sadie is such a great dog! I loved it when you got in after packing up, and she was in her seat, ready to go ❤❤❤
Loved this video, thru my home state. You missed my home town by about 40 miles. Kalona north of Mt Pleasant which is a lovely little town. I love road trips and when you wander through the country side on back roads it is my kind of traveling.
born n raised in Iowa but have traveled all over the USA have crossed the Rocky Mountains more then once , lived in Seattle and saw Mount Saint Helens in Washington, visited all the southern states not fond of Florida ,still havent seen very much of the east coast . ive settled in southwest New Mexico the weather here suits me and my joints lol. Carolyn you are amazing I love Love all your videos I love how you explain a town . And tell us about important things and its always good History.. thank you for sharing . Be safe. 😊😊
I had a co worker from NYC who went to a climbing gym and he would go on climbing trips in upper NY, CT etc but he would also take trips out to Utah, AZ etc. every year, so your right they have to take trips elsewhere to experience real climbing. I also worked with a guy who moved to West Virginia just to climb apparently they have some of the best climbing on the east coast, who would have thought.
I've been a blond most of my life, and while I graduated both high school and college with high honors. I find I can play the ditsy blond pretty easily. So yeah, play that and ask for forgiveness has always worked for me. And now being over 65 I can play the ditsy old lady, too. 😂😂
I may not agree with all your political views, but I enjoy your videos. I also admire your courage and I am envious of your lifestyle. Went to the link but just so you know Carolyn'srvlife after the forward slash goes away even if you type it in😮 I'm leaving this week to go explore the UP‼‼ Just fixed up my old motorhome after being in my condo for over 2yrs so I'm pretty excited about getting back into my rv and on the road again‼‼‼‼🎉🎉
At 13:08 that instrumental is very peaceful and beautiful. Where did you find that song at? I sent it to my son and the app gave me a name but it was not it. It gave me an old time church song. I would like to find it.
👍🤩💝Nice video. I love history and how you include historic info in some of your videos. I love road trips and take them often. 👍🤩💝Mt Pleasant, Iowa is adorable. We had family and a farm in Fairfield, Iowa for many many years (about 30 minutes away from Mt Pleasant). Mt Pleasant has a lot to offer from a tourist perspective. 😂🤣😆I’m definitely a “ask for forgiveness rather than permission” type person. Wishing you safe travels. 🙏💝
Hi Carolyn. Enjoying your video. Will probably be the last one I watch. 😞 I received 3 eye diagnoses. Cancelled road trip plans. Cancelled the business that would have paid for it. Going blind. Losing hearing, too. Pretty much - life as I know it has been cancelled. Have to limit screen time to almost nothing. Will miss you and Sadie.
Hey there Priscilla! I know what you are saying from my own personal experience. While watching videos is always great, there are some that I can simply listen to. My tinnitus is actually a little better when I am focusing on something... but I often drift off if it's too relaxing... Hope you can enjoy your other senses!! I lost my sense of taste and smell 3 years ago and life has NOT been the same... we really just have to enjoy life as we can and focus on what we still can experience... Blessings!
@@priscillawrites6685 Mine is transitory so yes I have experienced those times as well... my family doesn't understand but my new neighbor has the same thing, and we often compare things that help or what seems to trigger different aspects of this situation! Doctors don't have any answers, so we are just trying to find things that help a bit.
Praying this comes across with the love intended. My dad has been in similar situation for past 8 years. He went through all kinds of stages, depression, anger, resentment, grief for the missing senses… we hurt for him and you too. His other senses have kicked in and he is leaning into them to navigate. Being grateful for what he has helps too. His tiny home allows him to still be independent with limits, he enjoys the radio, he can use his iPad to listen to movies and books on tapes and enjoys conversations on a deeper level too. He has always been a very independent person so this has forced him to accept kindness and love from others to do errands for him and bring supplies etc. It took a long time but now he is making lemonade out of the lemons. Did you know you can access books on tapes through a government ran Talking Book Program? It’s a wonderful resource.
My Sis had a dog that did not like to go poddie out in the rain, she got an umbrella to hold over him so he would go. I loved the photo of her, some early rainy morning, her in her nightgown and rain jacket, getting soaked, and holding an umbrella over him going poddie! Lol! She was so mad at my brother in law for taking that photo
I totally espouse the "asking for forgiveness" method although I tend to follow the "asking for permission" route. ??? There is a national forest, believe it or not, in New York State in the Finger Lakes that has two campgrounds; I've looked at both but since I have a trailer, I found the regular campground sites to be a bit small. The other one is an equine campground but they have 5 sites that, if not filled by people with horse trailers, can be used by regular campers and there would be lots more space for me. Haven't tried it yet but it's on my bucket list.
Iowa state U s in Ames (by Des Moines) and the U of I is in Iowa City. Those are just extensions we have all over the state of those colleges. Iowa Wesleyan University is there though! 😂
Can you do a vid on a day in the life of charging the RV, and changing and filling the water tanks. how long it takes, what needs to be used hose wise. i love watching your journey and listening to all of the music and coffee conversation. thank about saying in the meantime be happy be free and be kind.
update: I have been watching all of your videos and catching up. i saw a few videos about this. can you further discuss winterization. Thank you for so much resourceful info in your vids
I love watching you. I so wish I could meet you someday. I’m still in stock and brick and will be for at least a while. So far I can’t find a van I like. I’m in my SUV still. I take my dog though when I go places. You remind me so much of the teachers I worked with and really liked. Thanks for your energy and inspiration.
It is great to see you Carolyn! One of the first ones to watch! I have been using AG1 for over two years and I love what it has done for my health! I love it!😊

He has always been a very independent person so this has forced him to accept kindness and love from others to do errands for him and bring supplies etc. It took a long time but now he is making lemonade out of the lemons. Did you know you can access books on tapes through a government ran Talking Book Program? It’s a wonderful resource.
Enjoyed this! Thank you!
Come on up to Minnesota friend! I'll have some hotdish waiting :) stay safe!!
Great video...Sadie is such a happy healthy dog...you two stay safe....thanks for this one....😃👍👍
I like that you tell us a bit of history of the places you travel
My Sis had a dog that did not like to go poddie out in the rain, she got an umbrella to hold over him so he would go. I loved the photo of her, some early rainy morning, her in her nightgown and rain jacket, getting soaked, and holding an umbrella over him going poddie! Lol! She was so mad at my brother in law for taking that photo
You mean pottie ?
Love the lonely roads with blue skies.I think every state has a majesty about it,if ya look.
You make great videos! Yes authentic!
sounds like Mt Pleasant has earned its name. Interesting town.
Brilliant question...permission mostly then denial! lololol
In the midwest people camp every weekend and it's always been that way campgrounds would be full on weekends as far back as the 60 and 70s
Thanks for the ride along Carolyn it's always so fun with you and Sadie. Stay free.❤❤❤
Great catch Sadie great you have your fur baby
Iowa state U s in Ames (by Des Moines) and the U of I is in Iowa City. Those are just extensions we have all over the state of those colleges. Iowa Wesleyan University is there though! 😂

I love it!😊
