Thanks for the feedback! It's nice to know that even if people don't shoot a lot, they still find value in the tutorials! I'm looking forward to what videos you will bring in 2025! Perhaps I'll see you out there
I'm hoping to make it over to Vancouver for short eared owls and coyotes. Perhaps there will be a day that isn't 50mm of rain and wind to get out and shoot 😄. Maybe you are available during that time.
Amazing, Matt; makes me realise I have only been scratching the surface with LR and PS. The new features, such as distractions and lens blur, are awesome. This is one video I will be returning to, for sure! 👍🏻
Never stop commenting Keith! It gives me the power to make more videos, even if you have to lie 😄 LOL ! I got a few books to read for Christmas this year. More to learn and then share. Happy to hear you liked the tips. Thanks for watching and sharing this year, see you in 2025!
@@MattShannonPhoto I will never stop commenting. I have a few photographers that I follow and I always comment so that they know how much I appreciate their efforts. I am nearly 77 years old and I didn't grow up with computers and digital photography so everything I try can be a bit of a struggle. I am also more of a visual learner and actually seeing you demonstrate versus trying to read about it makes it so much easier for an old guy like me. Thanks again and please keep posting all these great tips.
Some nice techniques for extra visual appeal. 30 year photoshop artist here. It's amazing how far photoshop has come. I've been dabbling in Light room over the past year, and discovered that photoshop's raw editor and main tools layout room have most, if not all the same tools as light room and more. I'll have to test out the new wire removing feature, that would be a huge time saver, instead of using just the healing brush.
You're absolutely right-Camera Raw and Lightroom share a lot of overlapping tools, but Photoshop's versatility really stands out with its additional features. The wire removal tool has been a total game changer for me. I still shoot for a lot of architects, and editing out wires used to suck the joy out of my workflow. This new tool has saved me so much time!
I don’t use Lrc but you have showed a few things that have intrigued me and I am going to have a go at it. Thanks Matt and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
What program(s) do you use? As long as I can get your creative juices flowing, I've done my job 😄. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your loved ones too! See you in 2025
@ I use just Lr. I have almost the same control as Lrc. it’s all I really need. I don’t like manipulating photos too much. Mostly colour, brightness, contrast & removing unwanted distractions. For the most part, they are pretty close to the real thing as I can get. Thank you for you comment Matt. cheers
Hi Matt I Found this accidentally If you slide the Dehaze to the right, more than you usually would it really brings out any dust spots, I use this with Visualise Spot then when finished erasing return the Dehaze to the correct position. This sometimes shows up dust spots that Visualise Spots misses.
YES! Great tip-thank you for sharing! As soon as I read this, I knew exactly what you meant. In my last video, I played around with Dehaze for high-key images, and you're absolutely right-it works really well for visualizing spots. I’m definitely adding this technique to my workflow checklist. Thanks again!
What is the best edit technique that you do/use?

Remove wires is a nice one to add to the list.
Great tips! I don't shoot many photos these days, but it's nice to have a refresher, and I also learned a few new tricks. Thanks, Matt!

When you were working on the fox what caused the weird shadow on the left side of him?
