Thanq for keeping it real. It helps a lot. I'm a 3rd year PhD student and can pretty much relate to all that stress. I've been following your channel since the beginning of my PhD for perspective and gained a lot, especially when I didn't find many people from Computer Science out here on YT. It's okay to slow down and set boundaries despite deadlines at times. Nothing's more precious than mental and physical health. That matters first. We matter first. Huggs to you! Also, I go through pretty much the same kind of a roller coaster during my period. It's either a terrible bout of depression or loads of anxiety that I cannot keep down. I've come to terms with the fact that those are a difficult 24 hours that just need to pass. Ain't nothing much we can do about it. Coffee and having a close buddy around helps in my case.

Thank you for this message! I hope you are doing ok. From being on the other side I can definitely say it’s worth taking the time to give yourself space to recover during your PhD! I feel like I was just coasting through the last couple of years trying to get through the PhD.

I've started my PHD nearly at the same time as you. working also on recommender systems. But still struggling finishing it. Stress and more stress.
I really like doing research by I don't tolerate having someone saying to me you do this and that. deadlines, etc.
I hope the best for you. Just don't plan more and more. things sometimes needs to be more natural.

Not in the next vlog but the one after you’ll see examples bc it’ll be titled “how to work when you don’t feel like it” or something similar
