Thank you Andrew but it does get better when sound enthusiasts like you are making nice comments like this. :) We're out there soon, renting a car and recording sounds around Turkey.
I did a tiny fit of Foley and field recording 10 years ago in my college years and always thought it was so much fun. Back then gear was so expensive so I never got my own gear. Recently I've been wanting to get into recording my hikes and taking some instruments up with me as well. I was always waiting to save up for a h8 or f6 but never fully commiting. You have finally inspired me to pickup a h1n and some Roland binaural sets and just go explore no more excuses. What you do has always been a kind of fantasy of mine, I use to love hitting things with my pen during walkthroughs of the aisles at the old jobs and that never went away throughout the years. I finally thought man if I had recorded all those different sounds I'd have a huge library by now! I also have an ether by soma and exploring is fun but I never get to record the sounds! Thanks for what you do and share, I really appreciate your content and enjoy very much experiencing part of your adventures! Best wishes. I hope to grow along with you.
I love love love love love this. I just love love this. Convinced me to get H1N, but also now make me wanna get the soundman binaural mic. The streets sound is just incredible.
Sorry to hear that Justin but I made a new video using the Roland. Its the POV Denver video. You can just get the Rycote patches to fix the cable on your shoulders. I mentioned it in the other video.
I use the Soundman mics as well, but one question I’ve had and wasn’t able to find on the site, is what color goes in which ear, red or blue, and which direction do they sit? Meaning black side in or out?
Hi Daniel. You can just check by touching the microphone capsule which side is which. Also in order to find out what direction, just take off the foam. The microphone faces out of the ear.
Thank you for your inspiring content!. I was trying to work out why I enjoy certain video walks more than others and it's because channels like Poptravel, Watched Walker and Nippon Wandering TV use binaural setups similar or identical to this. I watch their videos on a 4k monitor with very good headphones and it blows me away. Now I know why. I'm keen to start producing similar content in my hometown of Melbourne Australia with the Osmo pocket 2 plus the Zoom H1n. Now it looks like the Soundman could be an additional cool purchase to support the audio. Looking forward to it.
Hi Paul, you should also check out my friend Kyler from @NomadicAmbient. He travels the world and record sounds that way. The Soundman are cool indeed but also keep in mind you need wind protection and that can be tricky in windy cities.
@@FreeToUseSounds so in a windy scenario don't use the soundman but put a wind protector over the Zooomh1N itself? Thanks for the advice and I will check out Nomadic Ambient.
@@paulkonye8380 That is one of doing it. Rycote has a good protection but you could also check out Mic Booster Clippy's and get them with wind protection. Not sure if you watched the video I made about how I recorded sounds at markets. I have Usi Pro L&R on my bag and walk around that way.
This was such a lovely video. Thank you! The soundscape makes enriches the quality of the experience a great deal. I have visited Istanbul and listen to, and watching, this video evoked such wonderful memories! I also own a Zoom H1 (the earlier version), as well as a Zoom H4. I use them both frequently. The H4 has become an audio interface as I work from home during our ongoing Covid-19 pandemic (I teach online, and with a simple Shure SM58 plugged in, it gives great audio quality to my students). The H1 is used for my VLOG and ‘run and gun’ video work. It is also great! Thanks once again. I am loving your videos.
just got myself a brand new sony pcm-a10. can't wait to get started. can you recommend a really lightweight monopod to get better reach to certain subjects? any ideas to eliminate handling noises? i'll be running and gunning with a full camera setup (with a shotgun mic). only using the sony when i have more time to stop and take in the ambient noises.
Oh you do the old method. Hand clapping in the beginning or the end of the recording. I don't usse time codes yet but maybe in the future. It's actually pretty easy. Just don't forget to clap and have the correct frame rate for the recorder and camera,
Excellent video! Thanks for recommending, that's incredible sounds coming from your ear buds. This is my favorite channel so far for learning sound recording. I'm trying to get better for my nature ambience videos.
@@kagi2807 I think it’s the rock studio classic version but if you reach out to Rolf directly at Rolf(at)SoundMan.de he can tell you what Modell I used. You can tell him that you watched the video and that you unsure which Modell is the one that are still on Thoman.
Hi Miguel, that always depends on the outdoors. If you in a city sounds are louder then in a forest. I always start with -35 and move my way up to -6 depending on the noise floor.
@@FreeToUseSounds thank you. I got an H1n a few months ago and haven’t really gotten deep into field recording, but it’s something that’s always been an interest of mine. I’ll be starting small and work my way up. Thanks for your amazing videos.
starting to love this channel.. :D do you record audio first before shooting video? or do you shoot the video first then the audio later? would love to hear tips on that...
Hello! Thank you for your videos,. Hope you can help me, I have roland binaural mic too. What would u recommend the best settings if you are walking around, capturing city sounds and nature? Is 160hz good and limiter is off?
It's wonderful to hear that you're venturing into the world of sound recording with a Roland binaural mic! The 160Hz you mentioned probably refers to a high-pass filter, which helps to reduce low-frequency sounds like traffic rumble or wind noise but I never used any filters and remove it in post if I have to. Regarding the limiter, its use often depends on the audio environment. A limiter can help prevent distortion but in quieter locations you may introduce more noise. You can test this on the H1n to see and hear the difference. Remember, the 'best' setting can depend on many factors, so don't hesitate to experiment with the gain settings Keep exploring and enjoying your recordings :)
Silly question but does the H1n or binaural microphones pick up any of your breathing at all or do you think because you used a mask it helped cut that out?
nice channel, new sub here, one question: in terms of quality (not stealth-wise) a copuple of good omni-lavaliers atach in the ear, may give more quality than this binaural mics? thx in advance
@@FreeToUseSounds yep, I know but in terms of signal to noise ratio, maybe I am wrong, but I suspect that a good lav have better specs than the binaural ones, what do you think?
@@javigonzalez1414 these are really good binaural omnis that SoundMan has. I do have DPA 4060 as well and DPA has a ear set for around 900 Euro. You could check that out
Absolutely! Let me break it down for you. When using the Zoom H1n alone, you're recording a stereo image with an XY microphone position. Essentially, the capsules on top of the recorder are fixed in one position. However, when using a Roland or Soundman, for example, you'll be recording a different stereo image. With our in-ear microphones, we create a binaural stereo that more accurately mimics human hearing. Plus, these microphones are more sensitive, meaning you'll need less gain to capture even the quietest sounds. This results in less self-noise, giving you a clearer, more precise recording. I hope this clears things up! Let us know if you have any further questions or if there's anything else we can help you with.
Thanks a lot for your very informative videos! Does the H1N have any qualities the H4N Pro doesn't have? Or is there a reason why you don't seem to be using the H4N Pro much for ambient sound recording?
@@FreeToUseSounds thanks, I am watching it now. I think I might start with the Sennheiser AMBEO as they are so cheap now. If I use this and I can get into into I think I will go up the chain of expensive equipment.
Great video and location. Just wondered, the soundman instructions say that the coloured side of the foam goes on the outside, is that the way you have them fitted? It looks like you have the black side of the foam facing out? Just bought a pair of OKM II from soundman and trying to figure out how to use them. Thanks
Amazing content! I’m thinking to buy a pair of soundman OKM, is the mark I classic good enough?… also, how do monitor the levels with the soundman? A second pair of earbuds?
Hi! Monitoring with microphones in your ear isn't feasible because it would cause massive feedback, potentially damaging your hearing. However, if a friend uses the in-ear microphones and you walk behind them, that could work. But, keep in mind, the cables aren't long enough without an extension, and it might look awkward, not to mention the noise from the cables.
@@FreeToUseSounds You are right, but my question is: 1- Why did you do that? Recording the surrounding sounds with H1n was not good enough? 2- Why didn't you use only soundman to record the binaural sounds? Why did you need H1n as well? 3- Did you connect soundman to H1n? I am a beginner, so I really don't understand what it means to connect two microphones. Thanks for your reply!
@@meysammahfouzi 1. The reason for pairing the Soundman with the H1n is to create a more nuanced audio profile. While the H1n is excellent at recording ambient sounds on its own, introducing the Soundman binaural mic to the mix adds an immersive, three-dimensional binaural effect. This setup simulates the way human ears perceive sound, providing a deeply realistic audio experience. 2, The Soundman binaural microphones need a recording device like the H1n to function. While the Soundman mics pick up the sound, you need a device like the H1n to actually record and save these sounds, hence the pairing. 3. Yes, we did connect the Soundman to the H1n. To clarify, the Soundman microphones were plugged into the H1n recorder. The H1n then captures the sound from the Soundman mics and stores the audio files on an SD card for later use. I hope this answers your questions! If you have more queries, don't hesitate to ask. We're all in this learning journey together.
Hi! Oh that always depends on the situation but the best way to find out is by listening. First listening with your ears to the real sound. Then listen with headphones and control the gain. If you hear any noise that wasn't there before, your gain is to high. Keep it low :)
sorry for the beginner question. Can you monitor the sound real time with headphones? I want to use this for my mobile podcast and I just want to make sure.
Hi! Thank you so much to sharing this content. Do you know if it's possible to convert binaural recordings like that to a normal stereo format that can sound great on stereo speakers ?
Hi David. I found you this article here where somebody else already asked that question years ago. I think one way is cutting out each channel and import them into a new track. Merge both track back to the stereo that is not made for headphones. taperssection.com/index.php?topic=142299.0
Can I ask you which deadcat would you recommand for a H6? This one that you're using for your H1 looks great and I can't find "exciting" ones on internet!
Still loving the letterboxing for sound demonstrations. 😌 I recognize that different budgets, circumstances, and skills benefit from different tools. With that said, did you find you were a little spoiled from the F6?
The F6 is indeed a great recorder and takes away the work of checking the levels all the time. But with having a small handy recorder you are most likely to get the sounds quick instead of pulling out the microphones, cables, headphones. :)
Hi Tommaso! Thank you so much for watching and yes with this adapter you can use the Soundman on recorder with two XLR inputs. However if you would use an H8, not sure if the cable is long enough. Channel 1 and two are not next to each other.
Looking for recommendation on an XLR lav mic. I intend to connect it to my Zoom H6 and use that to narrate. At the same time, I plan to use the Zoom X/Y capsule to capture ambient sound. My idea is to record me narrating what I am seeing as I walk around town and capturing the soundscape. I think what I want is a cardioid pickup pattern and not an omnidirectional since I am already using the X/Y mic for ambient. Thoughts on pickup pattern? Thoughts on any other way to accomplish what I want? Thoughts on a budget XLR Lav. Currently looking at the Comica and the Movo.
Hi Stu. Could you use the H6 and walk around with it while recording. Then go home and listen to it. I did this one time and it was a terrible soundscape. Handling noise, changing sound field. It wasn't pleasant at all to my ears. Well if it comes to Lavs I use DPA 4060, Usi Pro and Usi Pro Micro and also the ones that come with my Zoom recorders.
Good idea to test it before a buy a lav mic. I never though about whether the soundscape would sound bad or not. The idea is to get the overall soundscape like when I walk around so that when the listener hears it they can hear everything I hear plus me talking about what I am seeing. I did record myself walking but that was to get a recording on we walking on dirt. . I have a handheld dynamic I could actually use for the test. It’ll give me even one more thing to handle LOL! Also, great channel. I subbed a long time ago and watch frequently.
@@stu_chang If you want to have the listeners hear what you hear, you need a binaural headset and not just a recorder. But one other issue you face is the wind.
First of all thanks so much for replying. I just now did a test using the H6 X/Y for ambient sound and a dynamic mic (XM8500) in Mic 1. It actually turned out not bad. I need to play with the gain on the X/Y a little. I only had it on 5 so the ambient sound was not loud enough. But I raised the loudness of the ambient track in post and it was close for an experiment. I am going to watch your video where you recorded in Singapore airport. I basically want something like that but me narrating on a lav. Keep in mind this is not for professional sale. This is for a hobby podcast. Basically a narrated walking tour with ambient sound.
What settings do you use on the zoom when using the mic? Every time I’m trying to record something I get the loudest ringing noise lol also good video 🍻
Quite scary... Opened up this video as I'm researching about the H1n because I want to use it with binaural microphones and I see you're using it. I'm here with the same backpack, same adidas mask, and my girlfriend beside me is from Istambul.... Talk about coincidences... Ok, I'm getting it, with your affiliate, hahahahaha It's meant to be!
Your video is like a movie, love it! Question, the soundman binaural mic attached to zoom h1n, so basically the zoom h1n just acts as a storage device while the sound input is into the soundman binaural mic?
Hi Lydia.. Thank you so much and yes that is correct. The H1n is the recorder and the Soundman are the LR binaural microphones. You can still adjust the gain on the H1n as well.
@@FreeToUseSounds Got it! Also, could the type of earphones used into /LINE IN be one of the cause to poor audio quality? Cheap earphone (has lots of hissing sound) vs apple earphone (lesser hissing sound).
Hi! I just tried the Roland CS-10em (binaural microphones) and i found them very good. But what is the best between Roland and Soundman microphones in your opinion? Thank you so much!
Hi Paolo! One of the best things about the Roland is that you can monitor and record at the same time. I think Soundman has a pair that can do that but I'm not sure which one because they have many. The one I have doesn't have it. One thing that bothered me about the Roland was that they never really fit in my ears. I loved them but they always moved out of my ear. I think the Roland don't come anymore with any sort of wind protection what makes it hard to use outdoor. Soundman has a wind protection but does't the trick to a certain extend but I personally never used it.
@@FreeToUseSounds I had the same problem with Rolands and later learned that the main culprit for headphones falling down is my hair falling on to the earbuds. I don’t have a lot of hair but I’ve ended up tying my hair only when I record and it is working great.
hello, great video!!, after watching this video i bought some Roland CS-10EM and had a question, when i pu them in i almsot blew my ear drumbs out lol, i get a very loud ring noise from them, when using, do i jst plug the mic cord in? or do i plug both cords in while using?
@@FreeToUseSounds thank you for the info, i just get bad feedback so i guess i got a defective pair of roland earphones, i also sub to your channel, grat info:)
hi Macel, I bought the f6 in addition to my h6 to have 32 bit and a better way for boom recording with a case, I asked you for a good stereo mic for the f6, thank you for your fast answer. but I think zoom will develope a new h6 ore similar and all future products will have 32 bit, do you think in the same way..? greetings from Viewnna, visit in the sommertime and I invite you to the best icecream in the world.
Hi Ernst! I don't say no the ice cream and we would love to visit Vienna if possible. I do think the same way about that. Maybe not as H6 but maybe X8 or something like that. Technology moves forward and I'm sure we will see a handheld recorder with 32bit float. Maybe not Zoom but somebody will be the first.
Hi! Just bought access to your library, thanks! By the way, would you choose the Roland over Soundman (which version?) binaural microphones? I’m looking around for some that will last a while since I can’t buy replacements while on the road
Hi Edwin! Thank you so much! The sound quality from the Soundman I have ( Soundman OKM Rock/Studio) is better as the Roland but they are also 3 times the price. Is the sound quality 3 times better? Not in my opinion. I know that the Roland are more robust and the cables are better and stronger. Soundman cables are very thin and you can easily rip them apart from the mic capsule if you are stuck somewhere. The Soundman still fit better in my ear as the Roland that is what I remembered and the foam is nicer. The Roland are great microphones for under $100 and I would recommend them anytime. Soundman has cheaper options but I never used them. I hope this helps?
Would it be the same If I, let's say put my Usi Pro on my glasses close to the ears or is there a real difference compared to the placement directly inside my ears?
Hi! Oh yes there will be a slightly difference because our ears have a unique shape. Do you know about the Neumann dummy heads? That is high end but you can find several DIY models. With silicon ears you can create that. DPA has also a very interesting binaural headset.
@@FreeToUseSounds I heard about dummy heads and a lot more thanks to your great channel. Made me much more aware of my surroundings (and I am saying this as a studied classical musician..) and I'm trying to implement sounds in my videos the same "stealth" way like you are doing. Thanks a lot for your work, I really enjoy your videos!
Omg exactly what Im looking for. I do have both of them, may I know your zoom h1n setup for outdoor recording please? And what's your post production editing like do you normalize the audio sorry im totally a newbie? Thanks!☺️
@@FreeToUseSounds Sorry I think the correct word is field. I read some comments below on how you adjust gain level just wanted to know if you're doing some audio normalization on post edit or anything to get the highest binaural audio quality?
Hey :) so far I know you are walking the camino right now. So probably you can’t answer right away. I wish you a beautiful trip!! But maybe someone else know the answer the question. Do you guys know the difference between the cheap soundman okm for 50/60€ and the one for 200€. Are this more sensitive mics in the 200€ on or better build quality in general? And the second question is: I you would plug the stereo 3.5 trs jack to two xlr ports like on the Zoom F6, what kind of adapters do you need to get stereo right away? Third question: Could one record stereo on an smartphone with trrs plug or do smartphones just have mono-microphone input? ( For sure you need a trs-trrs adapter as well)
I'm not walking the Camino right now. That is in October. If you need an answer about the difference, the fastest way is to Contact Rolf from Soundman. He can give you the details about the answer. Hmm, would you could do is using a 3.5mm stereo female to 3.5mm stereo female coupler adapter. The a regular 3.5 to XLR male. But I can't guaranty if it works at the end or how it sounds like.
@@FreeToUseSounds Thank you for the tip! Marcel already answered me. It’s in German but maybe others can understand and it will help them as well. Thank you also for your recommendation regarding the stereo splitter. I saw soundman has its own stereo-trs to XLR adapter. It’s quite pricey in comparison to a normal stereo 3.5 jack splitter.
Hi Jon! That always depends on the situation but one tip I can give you while recording is, if you hear noise just go lower. Don't record noise because you have more work to clean it up.
Hi. :) I've been watching a bunch of your videos the last few days trying to learn about ths very complex field. I'm a photographer, just getting into videography, and I know nothing about sound. Most of the words being used in the videos and comments are like a foreign language to me, lol. I'm hoping you can give me a bit of advice. I'd like to start making higher quality videos of my hikes and other adventures. I don't want to use a microphone attached to my camera but would rather have it go to a recorder to pick up the sounds of nature around me. I was thinking about having the recorder in/attached to my hiking bag and the mic also attached somehow to pick up the sounds of the forest while hiking. I need everything to be small and light weight since I'll already be carrying a lot of hiking and camera equipment. Would you recommend the Zoom H1N or Zoom F1-LP for the recorder? And, for the mic, would you recommend something like the Rode Video Micro, a lav mic, something like the Osi(?), or something like the binaural set you used in this video? As I said, I'd be hoping to pick up the sounds of the forest around me while hiking, though hopefully not the sounds of me gasping for breath, lol. I wouldn't want the mic on me, therefore, but rather attached to my bag like in a stealth video of yours. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you and thanks for all your great videos. Cheers from Maine, USA. :) Paula
Hi! Well you would need a stereo set and you might want to look into Mic Boosters clippies. The Usi microphones aren't always available but they are very similar. You also need wind protection and make sure you'r bag doesn't make any noises while walking. But this is something you will find out very soon. For the recorder you could buy the H1n but keep in mind you need 3.5 for the microphones to work with it.
Interesting. Was thinking about using a F2 32 float at 48 khz with an exterior 3.5mm mics. Special request can you do something like that in the future on F2?
Great question and that is what I asked Zoom about. The F2 has a 3.5 stereo input but it says 32 bit float mono on 48kHz. Nothing described at 44.1 so maybe it can record stereo 32 bit float in 44.1kHz. But that is not an interesting rate for me anymore. I will see when I get the recorder and make a video about it.
@@FreeToUseSounds Yeah, we now fly very soon. Hope you have a good trip in Spain! For me its the first time traveling with sound gear and I am worry that something get damaged or the airport security taking away equipment cause we missed the security-luggage requirements. Probably you know this? How do you deal with it? Do you have an insurance for your equipment?
Often, when I monitor sound from a mic while recording, I get more immersed than with “naked” ears 👂 is it just me or am I a weirdo?… yes, I’m a weirdo either way 😝 BTW… is that Soundman OKM II Classic Solo? It’s a bit difficult to find it in the US.
That always depends on the situation. You adjust the gain to your surroundings. Loud ambience = less gain! Quiet ambience = raising the gain but without creating noise or hissing.
I've been interested in binaural for a while. I'm curious about one thing. What is the workflow like with binaural sound when adding it to a video timeline for example? Can you just drop it in, or do you have to do some kind of extra processing or setup?>
Hi Ki! No extra processing or exporting like MS or ambisonic files. These are still stereo files so you can just drop then in your video editor program.
@@wayofki Well yes. You can get the Roland CS 10 EM for starters or of course the Soundman that I'm using. But if you want you can also go crazy with the DPA binaural microphone set. Its more prices but high quality.
sorry, i know nothing about this and am just intrigued. So do you record ambient noise with the earphones plugged to h1n, and when recording you talking do you unplug the earphones so that h1n's microphone pick up your voice? sorry if this is a super silly question, thanks!
Not silly at all. :) So the earphones are also microphones and yes I can record ambience and my voice trough these tiny microphones. For voice recording I unplug the in ear microphones and use the on board XY microphone. That is on top of the recorder. I hope that helps? :)
@@FreeToUseSounds Yes, really helpful, thank you! Do you have any resources you'd recommend for a beginner to look at to learn how to process video or audio recordings?
@@kalleyluv Hmmm, there are so many good TH-camrs out there if it comes to video editing and you can easily search for any question on YT and find something.
Another great video. Quick question, without headphones can you tell the difference between binaural stereo vs regular stereo? Is the binaural stereo anymore spatial when not listening on headphones? I have the Sennhieser Ambeo and I never know weather to convert the ambisonic file to regular stereo or binaural. Which one do you think will work better for a film mix?
Thank you so much for watching! I don't think you can because if you run binaural recordings to a normal left and right speaker you just don't get the same effect. With having headphones on you are isolating your ears from the lets call it the "outside world" and you get a real feeling if people are walking behind you or whispering in your ear. But I hope other readers could comment on that too and share their experiences and opinion. Hold on you have the Ambeo? You mean the headset or the four cannel ambisonic microphone?
@@FreeToUseSounds the 4 channel ambisonic microphone. I have the option to convert to binaural or regular stereo. In headphones the binaural sounds way more spacious. But if I won’t get that same effect on regular speakers, should I just use regular stereo or still use the binaural stereo anyways?
@@CaptainShorif Wow, that is a really cool microphone but I believe to get a real effect of binaural you need to have either a dummy head with silicon ears or record with your own ears. I do have the H3VR and never exported or record binaural. I keep the files in ambiX or B Format. If I exported in stereo then regular stereo.

What gain setting do you recommend to set the H1n to record outdoors?
Hi Miguel, that always depends on the outdoors. If you in a city sounds are louder then in a forest. I always start with -35 and move my way up to -6 depending on the noise floor.

starting to love this channel.. :D do you record audio first before shooting video? or do you shoot the video first then the audio later? would love to hear tips on that...
For the video, we do it at the same time and sync it.
Remember, the 'best' setting can depend on many factors, so don't hesitate to experiment with the gain settings
Keep exploring and enjoying your recordings :)

Hi Javi, These binaural microphones are omnidirectional microphones.
You could check that out
Gran video. Yo también dispongo de esos micrófonos desde hace mucho tiempo y son maravillosos.
Oh yes they are around since the 90s I think :)
I saw some use Zoom with Roland CS-10EM Binaural Earphones could you please explain why? isn't zoom itself enough?
Thanks for this. Great solution. Do you have any upgrades to the "Stealth" in ear mics? BTW love your videos and I have subscribed to your library.

Thanks
Oh yes I thought I had it that way but maybe not in the part. You can just take off the foam and look where the microphone is facing.

Thanks! Do you have any video explaining when to use soundman binaural mic along with H1n?
Hi! Well I am using the Soudman in this video with the H1n.
@@FreeToUseSounds You are right, but my question is:
1- Why did you do that?
@@FreeToUseSounds Thanks a lot! Now that is clear!
i don´t have a Soundman, i just use Zoon H1n!
how high should be the level, if i want recording different ambients like city, forest or room ?
Hi! Oh that always depends on the situation but the best way to find out is by listening. First listening with your ears to the real sound. Then listen with headphones and control the gain. If you hear any noise that wasn't there before, your gain is to high. Keep it low :)

My next purchase

But maybe someone else know the answer the question.
Do you guys know the difference between the cheap soundman okm for 50/60€ and the one for 200€. Are this more sensitive mics in the 200€ on or better build quality in general?
And the second question is:
I you would plug the stereo 3.5 trs jack to two xlr ports like on the Zoom F6, what kind of adapters do you need to get stereo right away?
Third question: Could one record stereo on an smartphone with trrs plug or do smartphones just have mono-microphone input?
( For sure you need a trs-trrs adapter as well)
I'm not walking the Camino right now. That is in October.
If you need an answer about the difference, the fastest way is to Contact Rolf from Soundman. He can give you the details about the answer.
Hmm, would you could do is using a 3.5mm stereo female to 3.5mm stereo female coupler adapter. The a regular 3.5 to XLR male. But I can't guaranty if it works at the end or how it sounds like.

Ps Headphones on... Sennheiser HD25's
Thats a nice pair!

That always depends on the situation. You adjust the gain to your surroundings. Loud ambience = less gain! Quiet ambience = raising the gain but without creating noise or hissing.
@@FreeToUseSounds thanks so much! I am about to start mukbang asmr but in restaurants. I love your videos so much!!
@@paolodecastro4974 Thats interesting. Have fun :)
a friend gave me a PMD670 marantz, which microphone could I pair with it to start recording some ambient field audio?
I have several equipment videos on the channel.
@@FreeToUseSounds what you think about this recorder (its old, i know...)
@@Lorenzo88C To be honest, I had to Google it because I never heard about it before.
@@FreeToUseSounds eheh, ok 🤪
@@Lorenzo88C Yeah buts its probably a really good recorder. Old School Cool! :)
@@FreeToUseSounds Thank you! I definitely want to give it a try. Do you have a recommendation for a pair of binaural earphones/mics?
@@wayofki Well yes. You can get the Roland CS 10 EM for starters or of course the Soundman that I'm using. But if you want you can also go crazy with the DPA binaural microphone set. Its more prices but high quality.
@@FreeToUseSounds Thanks a lot! I'll check those out. Love your work BTW
@@wayofki You are so very welcome and thank you!
sorry, i know nothing about this and am just intrigued.
If I exported in stereo then regular stereo.
you have used not only zoom H1n in this video, right?
Only Zoom H1n.
@@FreeToUseSounds. I have bought Zoom H1n 2 weeks before. Used it without wind screen. The wind screen makes a real difference I guess. What do you think?. Should I buy a zoom-wind screen, or a cheaper version.
great video, it's nice to see how my city sounds "through the ears" of a foreigner 😃
the sad thing i can hear some guy swearing in the background 😅
Thanks for watching Emrah! I hope he didn't say something bad about us? :)
Binaural recordings make headphones analogous to goggles and bring VR to the ears.

Thank you!
5:45 He is cursing at someone.
To much music, it distracts you from the main point of the video, which is listening to the sound of the binaural microphones
Hi! Thanks for the input and this is why I also have linked a library with all the sounds for download. That way you can listen to all the sounds with no distraction.
Nice, But I cannot evalute the difference between the in ears and the zoom due to way too much music. Can you stop using music?
Hi Nick. You can exactly hear the audio of the Zoom or the binaural in ear microphones when the music stopped. We also have text in the video and we go in letter box mode.
@@FreeToUseSounds Yes, that is true. But there are few fragments without music. Most of the fragments are with music.
@@Mr1Spring Alright. Sorry Nick but this is how we film our videos and showcase the equipment. But not sure if you have noticed the sound library linked with this video in the comment section. Here you can listen to all files in high quality without music.

Nice Area !
Sometimes, especially on the Ferry , the Sounds and the Pictures makes me remembering my good old Hamburg here in Germany.
:-)
I haven't been to Hamburg in a long time! I loved Hamburger Berg. That was a fun time or I do remember being part of an MTV pilot project that never saw the light. Maybe next year I come for a visit. Summer of course :)
