- Looking for a good way to spend a few weeks in Europe? Here’s the exact Europe itinerary I followed for my multi-week trip to Europe. Whether you’re traveling Europe for 1 week, 2 weeks, or more, this video will help.
Hi, my name's Collin. I'm a travel enthusiast, online marketer, and I spent three months living out of a backpack. If you're interested in backpacking everywhere, subscribe for more travel tips & inspiration!

*With a Eurail pass, there's a tip that saves money and time. Take overnight trains between cities.* Adapt to the movement and your lodging is free. The time saving comes from leaving one city in the evening and starting to see the next the following morning. No days wasted traveling. Also, beds in hostels are more likely to be available if you drop by early in the morning.
That's a good option, but do you think expat can get a good sleep in the train and ready for a trip in day time?
@@malhaar707 With practice you should be able to sleep fine. I did the same with overnight flights when I was in Asia
Aren’t you scared someone will take your stuff while you are sleeping?
Half the fun of travelling by train is viewing the scenery. You can't do that if you're asleep.
@@danensisbut not at the expense of exploring the towns or cities or destinations you are hoping to visit.
Cool man, I'm about to do a 3 mth solo backpack in May! Might follow a similiar path as you did, cheers for the advice.
Where are you thinking about starting? Any top destinations in mind? I am also planning a three month trip starting in June!
@@davidbrust575 flying to rome first and going to visit the more popular places first before peak season which i believe is june/july
Flying into portugal the 22nd of june my first ever one way trip not sure where it will take me!! Lets connect!
How was it ? I plan on doing the same thing next summer
@@zilla8783 mate it was a great trip. I went rome > about 4 other places in italy via train > slovenia > budapest > krakow poland (probably should stop at vienna or bratislava) > wroclaw > berlin > munich > lucerne switzerland > frankfurt > amsterdam > belgium > paris > basque region spain > barcelona > nice > milan > rome.
That was ALOT of time on the train but I enjoyed every place and each one was worth it.
Great video mate! I am also planning on backpacking Europe solo for 3 months starting in August! I was wandering if you could do a video on what you packed for your trip, things you advice taking/not taking. Cheers!
Thanks, Chris. I’m planning on doing a video on this soon, so stay tuned!
same as me i’m going in august
I’m gonna start a 2-3 month backpacking trip in January and I’m gonna start in Portugal cause I had family there, then I’ll head to Spain where I also have family. I will ultimately end my trip in England because I have so much family there
Love the way you show it on the map it gives it helps a lot
Great video, cheers for sharing your travels and the hot tips!
Very nice video. I've done a trip like this a couple of times (though only a month at a time). In a few years I'll be retired and hope to do it again. Seemingly illogical itineraries are part of the fun!
Extremely useful itinerary for my trip coming up. Thank you!
Awesome!
Thank you for sharing.
Brilliant video man, nicely elaborated everything.
Looking at your travel map I can see the value of planning an itinerary ahead of time so that you can make the best use of time and money. I live in London and travelled solo to most of these cities. Research and planning is the key. There's so much you could have done in Barcelona in itself. It took me 2 days to plan what I want to see and do, book accommodation plan my travel locally and pre-book the entry tickets where I wanted to go. Because of pre-planning I could see a lots of things and see what Barcelona has to offer.
Hey, this is exactly what I am trying to do for my solo trip in October next year... I have already started the research. Can you share how do you find information about the internal/local commute in Barcelona?
@@sarvesh316 I collected all details from Google search and Google maps.
@@sarvesh316 Hey bud, I hope you were able to do the trip this year and maybe drop a comment about your experience and tips.
You rock! Thanks for taking the time to make this video :)
Thank you, this was a great video!
Keep up the good work. Really nice video. Thank you!
Wow... I spend a month in may 2019, start in London, then Hamburg, Berlin, Dresden, Praha, Barcelona, Narbonne, Carcassone, Porto and back to London all in 25 days. When we travel so much like this we have no much time to enjoy so much. Next trip I will spend more days in less cities. Quantity isnot quality.
Whats your next destination after berlin?
This guy: yes
Sounds like a perfect trip.
Thanks for the advice bud
Amazing video. On point
I would love to travel to Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, the Netherlands, the UK, Belgium, Ireland. ^^
I know, many countries haha.
I'm planning 3-4 weeks in July-August. I would like to go into it without prebooking any accomodation prior to the trip, maybe a day or two before when I've gotten on the move. I would just need a decent place to sleep. Is it doable or too naive?
And when travelling with a larger backpack, where do you keep it all day? Ideally I would move around with a daypack.
Thanks man!
Great video man! Helped me a lot!
Do you recommend to stay in those countries during which season? Particular month in the year? I am trying to organize my trip but I am not quite sure where/when to go in Europe.
best option is usually the spring/summer or summer/autumn shoulder seasons. lower accommodation costs. fewer crowds. still nice weather. :)
Wow. Nice experience. Did you bring a big luggage or were you backpacking?
Hey man, how much did it roughly cost for the 3 mouths?
YOU WENT ON THE SOUND OF MUSIC SING ALONG BIKE TOUR IN SALZBURG! I JUST KNOW IT.
Great video Ty! How far in advance did u book ur hostel? Did u always do hostels? Or do Airbnb or hotels? On avg how many days in each city? Thank you!
If I accidentally book my hotel in the red light district, I’m arriving often 😂
Thanks for this!
How much did it all cost? I am really tight on budget but I want to travel like this for a 50-60 days
I think you're looking at $5-6k+ depending on how much you're willing to spend.
Did you find it hard to find hostel bookings by not booking in advance? I am planning my 3 month trip this year in 2023 but am thinking I need to book all my hostels in advance to not be stranded (will be doing june july august, all busy season)
what did you end up doing? im doing three months next year!
Following up
So, in hindsight, how would you organise your trip, if you have a DMC-12?
How much did the entire trip cost?
thank you !
How'd you find the volunteer gig and work in Amsterdam?
I am visiting Switzerland and France this Summer and I'll have a backpack and a carry-on with me, and I wanted tips on how to deal with that. Did you have lockers to tore your belongings? or at the place you were staying? how is that experience?
If you're staying at hostels, most of them have lockers you can keep your bags in. I recommend bringing a padlock, though, as they don't always provide them. If they don't have lockers, sometimes reception can keep your bags for you behind the counter or in a separate room while you're out for the day. Good luck with your trip!
Hi how much money did you take with you . And what was the total.costing . Just getting a ruff idea
Is there a direct train between La Spezia amd Barcelona?
How much money did your trip cost bro ? I want to do the exact same thing. Cheers
What site did you use to draw your itinerary on the map?
Hey man love the videos. Just wondering roughly how much money you brought/spent for your three month trip? I’m thinking of traveling Europe by train for two months starting August
Hey Bryn, thanks for watching. I don't remember the exact amount I had saved, but I know it ended up being more than I needed. You can check out my expense guide here: th-cam.com/video/nfHOU72Hfr0/w-d-xo.html. Good luck on your trip!
👍🏾
How much did you spend if you Dont mind me asking?
How long do you stay in each place? Is 2-3 days sufficient to really take everything in?
I did a month long trip in 2016 and stayed in one city for 2-3 days... It was my first trip in EU and hence that was amazing. But now I feel I definitely need more time there! I am planning a trip next year, I'd cover less places and spend more time for sure this time!
Obviously you won't see everything, but it's enough to see the major attractions and have a good feeling about any city. You can always come back later.
Dude that’s not Hvar on the picture 😅
Hey man! Great video, just wanted to ask, was it an easy journey to get from Zurich to Lauterbrunnen ?? I’m hoping to go to Lauterbrunnen instead of Zurich but also want to go to Italy after :)
Yes it's very easy to get from Zurich to Lauterbrunnen. it takes 2 and half hours with 3 trains. Intercity train from Zurich to Bern. Then another intercity train to Interlaken. Then a short regio train to Lauterbrunnen
Roughly, how much did this all cost?
"I accidentally booked my hotel in the red light district...at night"
ಠ ͜ʖ ಠ
Cheeky...
Hey cool video. Gonna do a trip when I graduate in May. How much of this did you plan prior to going, or was it kind of all on the spot?
Hey! I’m doing the same thing. Things can get a bit expensive during high season (July/August) so my plan is to explore the EU a bit before that, then go to Eastern Europe and then go back to the EU in September. I have a rough plan laid out but I want to not be tied down and be able to change plans if needed or wanted. Hope this helps :)
@@evanwonders Hey thanks so mcuh for the response. Sounds good, I am kind of on the same track. I have museum's and stuff like that booked, but like you am open to change. Hope you have a nice trip
Ummmm and you didn't have any photos from any of these places?
How did you come across the part time volunteer gig? And how hard is it to rent an apartment for a few weeks?
did you need a working visa to do your part time job in amsterdam?
i’d say probably not because it was volunteering. pretty sure a visa id only required for paid work
Do you not have any personal footage from such a long trip??
Man stayed for 3 months but never went to spain :|
barcelona bro
why not the uk?
I imagine that other than visiting family in Sweden he was trying to keep it to mainland Europe.
Honey
Oh honey, you need to plan better
thanks!!
