    Did you upgrade this with any better parts anywhere? Make it more "bulletproof"? I don't see a lot of aftermarket upgrades or support for this motor. I'm sad. I am cry.

      what engine do you have? there are a few things like replacing the plastic coolant pipes with aluminum and on the 4.8 replacing the glued-on barb on the coolant distributor with something more durable. also look up ln engineering

    • @BrianMartin2007
      @BrianMartin2007 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@chir0pter the plastic coolant pipes are a 4.5 engine issue, the 4.8 had a "glued" coolant hose on it somewhere.

    955 V8 with bore scoring; anyone selling oversized pistons? or just cleanup and use new OEM standard size piston and rings?

      Labeled cups or boxes. Sometimes use a piece of card board and draw the item. And where the bolts go.

    Near the end of the video when in shows the cylinder walls, is that scorring? Is that what causes the known issue of the "tick" in the older Cayennes?

    • @MosslanderGamers
      @MosslanderGamers 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes it would have been, I recently sold a Porsche 955 4.5 L Turbo due to scorring, costly repair... :( great are otherwise, well apart from the wiring.

      @@MosslanderGamers Thanks for the reply. I have a 2004 Cayenne Turbo. The engine is developing the tick. I'd like to do an engine swap but finding a shop to do it in my area is next to impossible...

      @@MosslanderGamers But if redo the bore score with something like LN engineering Nickie's and go over the whole engine with solid updates......You have another 200k mile TT. New Turbos, upgrade the lines, and nickies..........these things could be 700-1000 HP DD for less in labor/parts than a new SUV.
