If they really wanted a trilogy THAT badly, they should’ve asked if THAT instead of a two-parter while the movie was being made. That way, the crew would have MORE time to plan how the Fast Saga ends instead of just teasing Part 1’s cliffhanger as the false penultimate chapter.

It's just throw and see if it sticks, chaos, characters being present for no reason other than fanservice (including the endless magical ressurections). I thought 9 was way worse than X but neither was good, John Cena's char and that whole brother backstory was insufferably bad, and Jason Mamoa in X is written so stupidly as opposed to just letting him have natural charisma. Also idk why they even bothered not to kill Cypher in Fast8 if they are just going to be like "one impactful scene per movie" and do nothing with her otherwise.

Im an ultimate Fast and Furious fan and have been rocking with the films since the beginning. I do think style got in the way of substance; the films are still enjoyable but they definitely need some help in the writing department. Having no plots other than running back to previous films to retcon stories and characters shows lack of creativity. You can only hit the NOS so many times before it becomes predictable. At this point there's nothing to bring new fans in, and 20+ years later there's still relatively little character development of the principal cast. Im still annoyed how Roman's character was done over the years.
Fortunately, the explosion's fire knew not to touch Dom's NOS-System and make him explode, but instead waited patiently to make way for his blue flame.
