👉This is Dimash's big first solo concert in Astana (Capital of Kazakhstan) called ‘Bastau/ Begin”, shortly after the show 'The Singer 2017'. This concert was given to him by the government as a welcome gift and thanks for his great success in China. 30,000 people from all over the world took part.
In preparation for the concert, Dimash worked so hard that he lost a lot of weight. His family was very concerned.... but the concert was great. It blows your mind! (Only via video) I had to wait a few long years before I could see Dimash live in Prague (2022).
In chanting, he tells the Dears to turn on the lights on their cell phones. Dimash is an extraordinary artist and smart young man... the best singer in the world! He seldom sings a song in the same way. At many of his gigs, he also uses unusual microphone techniques to make effects and also counter the talk that he is not singing live.

Bastau was Dimash's first solo concert. It was a celebration of his success on the I Am a Singer program in China. Watching the whole concert shows how happy he is. His English is much better now, but we Dears have nicknamed his English as Denglish - English with his beautiful accent. Hopefully, he never loses that.

Dimash didn't speak much English in 2017 so his enunciation is a bit rough, but we forgive him. And many of us Dears actually feel endeared to it. Of course now he actually speaks English. It's amazing all the the languages he has had to learn to learn phonetically to sing. He can speak fluently in his native Kazakh and Russian. He dabbles in Mandarin Chinese which is tough to pronounce. He can communicate pretty well in English in a basic form. But he never stops learning. He is much more than a singer. He's a real communicator through music.

A little background on this song sung by Dimash, at the Singer competition for professional singers in China, he was told in no uncertain terms when he first arrived, he must "wow" the audience of 500 professionals in the music industry who were the judges of the competition or he would go home. Very early high pressure for the 22 yr old Dimash who was to appear live before a tv audience numbering in the billions. So, he took their advice and chose to sing all songs with the biggest "wow" factor he could insert into each song that made sense for the song. It worked. And when he finally came to this song "All By Myself", which is so laid back there wasn't a good place to add anything extreme, he added those ridiculous (in a good way) riffs and runs and staccato notes at the end which delighted the judges and his new Dears all over China, Kazakhstan and Russia that he now cannot sing the song any other way as it is a spectacular Dear favorite and a reminder of the Singer performance.
Eric Carmen was the original singer of this song and not Celine Dion. Celine Dion covered it.
Dimash is spectacular. What an incredible voice. Supertalented artist.

Hola. Es cierto que Dimash al principio empezó a cantar por fanética, no hablaba inglés. Pero hoy día él habla inglés, quizá su acento no es el mejor pero es que no es su idioma nativo. Pero habla inglés, canta en inglés, se comunica en inglés también. Su concierto en 2019 en New York, él se comunica en inglés. Es un chico sumamente talentoso en todo lo que hace, y es un artista completo, no solo es un gran músico sino que también tiene una voz majestuosa, privilegiada, y es un increíble intérprete, dueño y señor en el escenario, domina a su público manteniendo una comunicación extraordinaria con los Dears. Debes ver un vídeo de uno de sus conciertos, dónde él pone al público a cantar en un canon, y es tan increíble y grato ver como la audiencia responde a la perfección, jajaja, creo que es algo no visto antes. I am really enjoying your Dimash reactions!! People have mentioned Bastau, which means “beginning”, was his first solo concert after returning from China in 2017. What hasn’t’t been mentioned is that when you look at that crowd..that was 40,000 people. Imagine the incredible pressure of your first solo concert being in front of 40,000! He became so thin at that time his family and team were concerned about him. There is very moving footage of him coming backstage after the concert, euphoric and hugging his team but in the background is his dad, Kanat, sitting with his hand over his face, crying. There had to have been such love and awe and relief at the end of that huge first concert. Dimash hugs him and picks him up and swings him around in circles. It is so very touching. Adai and Daididau and Daybreak from Bastau are both incredible if you haven’t done them yet but try to watch or react to Gloria Wu channel footage on what both those songs are about first. Thank you for letting us in on your Dimash journey!

I'd like to clarify that this is not a Celine Dion song; hence, it is not a cover of "her" song. The song was originally written and recorded by Eric Carmen in 1975, becoming a number two hit for him. Both Celine Dion's and Dimash's versions are covers of Eric Carmen's original song. It is important to give credit where credit is due.
You commented that in your opinion it was better than the original but before saying that perhaps you should listen to the original. You may still feel the same but it would be a more informed statement. You can find Eric Carmen's original on TH-cam.

Not only has Celine Dion, Eric Carmen and Dimash sung this song, but many singers have sung it, however, HANDS DOWN, Dimash IS the BETTER SINGER out of anyone who has ever sung it 💯 my opinion is mostly due to the fact that Dimash IS the GREATEST SINGER IN THE WORLD and I am a 23 year resident of the Entertainment Capital of the World, Las Vegas and have heard many singers sing this song 😊

Thanks for your reaction. Personally, I much prefer the version of this song at the “I am a Singer” competition in 2017, but this performance is also incomparable. Now Dimash speaks English quite fluently. Спасибо за реакцию. Лично мне гораздо больше нравится версия этой песни на конкурсе "Я певец" а 2017г., но и это исполнение бесподобно. It's always annoying to see Celine credited for this song when it is actually an Eric Carmen song that he created 22 years before Celine even got around to doing it. Celine's version is a cover version. People in the music industry are incredibly sensitive about credit where credit is due. Carmen would have every right to be offended that someone else is getting the credit for a song whose lyrics he wrote and whose recording of the song gained the highest position it ever attained on the music charts. Carmen recently passed away so, at the least, he doesn't have to witness the disrespect of those who are crediting his work to someone else.

Please stop with references to his "accent" and his English. He speaks very good English, better than some Americans. I am English and think
his English is amazing, considering his native language is nothing like English. And how many people who watch him can speak Khazak?
PS. He always gets the audience to sing at his concerts, you need to watch this one, , Bastau, in Kazakhstan, 2017 to see exactly how he performs and how he is loved. Please try to pay attention to who he is and don't prioritize how he sings, even though it is phenomenonal.

I don't understand why you call the Celine Dion version of this song the original?! It's just not true! "All by Myself" is a song by American singer-songwriter Eric Carmen, released in 1975. The music was taken from the second movement (Adagio sostenuto) of Sergei Rachmaninoff's 1900-1901 Piano Concerto No. 2 in C Minor, opus 18. Celine Dion released one of the numerous covers of this song in 1996. Her cover version became popular. But this is not the original at all!
