I yelled out a “YES!” When you brought out your Linearis. I have one as well and although I suspected it was a Hoya I didn’t know for sure until I saw yours. Mine is almost 5 feet long and i have it cascading from a shelf. Very beautiful. My wife jumped about 3 feet in the air when I yelled out and when I told her why I yelled she fondly said “you used to just yell at the TV during sports events but now you’re yelling about plants, too.” We both laughed at that but that is a good thing after 39 years of marriage. Thanks for the video and the reason for our happy yelling.
Im in love with Hoyas ❤❤. Thank You for doing this. Now I’m adding the obovata to my want list. Can’t wait for the second video. Thank You for all you do ❤
Good luck with your micans! In my experience with micans, a thorough leaf cleaning at each watering keeps pests away. I put it in the shower, sink or outside and spray with water pretty aggressively. Then I spray all over with an insecticidal soap or neem/Dr. Bronner’s mix (soap spray is optional). Let it sit for half an hour or so and then spray off the soap. The leaves always look so perky and clean afterward and it prevents pests!
I know that the obovata is pretty common, but it's still one of my FAVORITE hoyas❤ Mine started with 5 leaves and 3 years later is now in a 10 INCH pot which had to be either terricota or a heavy ceramic because the leaves are so heavy ( it's not trellised) that it EASILY topples over if it's in any kind of plastic pot😅😊
I also used to let my Hoyas get very very dry until I seen wrinkled leaves , but I felt like you did today last summer and I started giving them more love and water when they dried out immediately and omg Melissa I seen huge growth!! I even fertilized every watering all summer and no lie they have tripled in size I was so excited when fall hit, now this spring they have bloomed like crazy I’m soooo excited ❤❤❤❤❤
Your totally right with leaf 🍃 cleaning , every since I actually gave my leaves a good rinse with atleast every other watering (usually every single watering - it is a lot but I can’t handle pests lol) I swear pests have dropped by atleast 70% , so I deff rec that. I stopped getting notes I jist didn’t find it effective enough for the price it’s so expensive 😢
This video makes me want to get back to repotting my hoyas too but I'm battling spider mites right now and am trying to get a handle on them. So enjoyed the video.
I love this!! I’m just getting into Hoyas and I’ve came obsessed with all the fish tails!!? I’m collecting when I find a good price point!!!! Yours has grown a lot. Look forward to the next video
Thank you for the video Melissa. I purchased 2 cuttings of the polyneura and they are currently in tree fern fibre rooting one has just produced new leaves for me I’m so pleased 😊. The next one is going to be the linearis I’ve been looking for ages for just the right one because don’t have the patience to wait for it to grow lol. Now it looks like I’m going to have to add another to my list your Australis Lisa is beautiful 💚.
I have a huge linearis and every once in a while I will trim and create about 10 cuttings. I dip in rooting hormone and stick it back into the pot on watering day. They root on their own. The key is to do short cuttings. Maybe expose three bottom nodes with only a few leaves up top. Mine is so long now I have to drape it over other plants or the cats will chew on it
BWH plant co have really nice alocasia! Perfect plants arrive with perfect packaging.....highly recommend....ok going to keep watching! Love the trellis and plant clips and slow release! Just ordered a polynura from BWH...and a platnium alocasia and a dark form scindapsis....and one more I can't remember right this second!..looked it up a 6inch Bloody Mary Philo!
Hi Melissa I've been watching your channel for a minute now and I am thoroughly enjoying it. It's very relaxing. I'm a new plant mom and I have a rattlesnake plant, christmas plant, string of pearls, string of turtles, hoya birkin, philodendron both regular green and variegated. I'm also looking at the gloriosom philodendron. Any tips you can give me 6 greatly appreciated.
I absolutely love Hoyas!!! I finally was able to add an Obavata and a Retusa to my collection (I’ve wanted both of them for a couple of years) My favourite Hoya in my collection is my Suzie Q. Your Hoyas are beautiful 💚💚💚
I think my polyneura is my favorite hoya other then my compacta /variegated compacta ❤❤❤ my leaves sometimes will get yellow at the edge - and it drives me crazy and I can’t figure out why 😢
Can you remove the Micans and let all the vines soak in a sink full of soapy water? Then spray the rest that’s not soaking. A large make up brush (for blush) works great. It’s time consuming but I feel like removing the eggs is just better. I will do this every few days for 2 wks. I just leave the plant there since it’s in my laundry room. That way it’s so much easier to do it again. That’s what I have found to be the easiest thing to do. Then, once I do all that, I will find them on another plant! I hate them and feel like I will have them forever 🙄😡. This method works great though. I had my Micans get them too. I use a spray of soap, rubbing alcohol and hydrogen peroxide with mostly water. I love the foaminess of it while applying to the plant. I really feel like the mites die with that. Plus, you can spray the brush and apply it that way so there aren’t drips. That way, less runs down into the roots of the plant. I always worry about saturation and root rot. Then I rinse it after about 30 mins.
I'll have to do a better job at cleaning and soaking it. I must not have killed them all. This micans is soo long and so many leaves it'll take some work lol
4 months late but really enjoyed this. Wondering do you like the sprinkle in fertilizer better than the liquid type. And Super thrive you use everytime you water or less. I have a baby mathilde my 1st hoya. Love her. She's in a 2 inch pot and I want to repot her soon. Thanks
Hi Melissa, great timing! I fell in love with Hoyas this spring and now I really want to buy my first one. Any advice? Also looking forward to your next Hoya video ❤
22:52 But are you sure that the type of mites can take care of both spider mites and Thrips? I seem to see warnings on sites where you can by beneficial insects, that they don’t work for the kind of Thrips that’s on indoor plants.
Does your crimson princess bloom? I have one that is growing like crazy with beautiful color but no blooms. It’s been growing so much more since I have been giving it more water. Love that polynura.
Thank you! It hasn’t bloomed yet. It had flat mites so it didn’t grow a lot this past year. Hoping I can make it happy again 🥹 I think I need to give her more light.
I'm not sure what you're asking exactly. I don't know much about alocasia seeds. I imagine you would propagate through division or through growing out corms.
CAN I just say, YOU are sooo beautiful! (don't worry I'm gay as christmas and not hitting on you) just had to tell you! Thanks for the videos, as always

Oh my, Fred is such a gentleman 🥹
Thanks for sharing, yay Hoyas!
He's so cute 🥹 All the babies and the mama have been coming into our yard since they hatched a few days ago.

Of course! I’ll film the second one soon! I have so many left to repot ☺️

That stake works very well with that plant.

I would to see it are you on the gram?
@@alicehenley1328 mines difficult to get on camera anymore. Maybe one day I’ll take it on the porch and hang it up so the length can be seen.
I really want a polyneura, yours is so pretty!

Are they on Etsy or a separate website? I'll look them up I'm not familiar with them. I've been wanting a dark form scindapsis!

SO excited for more parts to this Hoya repotting series!! You're making me want more!
Yay! glad you enjoy them! I'm ready to film another one soon. I am on a repotting roll I need to keep it up lol

Yay! Glad you have them! I don’t know what a Susie Q is I’ll have to look that one up 👀
I will have to try Fluval for water props. I also have some plants I grow in water so will try there too.
Fluval has been amazing for propagations!
Very pretty ones ,!💚🌵🌱☘️💚
Can’t wait for your next Hoya videos!
I’ll film another one soon!

I can't keep hoyas alive but the australis Lisa is sooo pretty!
It’s a beautiful Hoya! What helped mine was giving more sunlight and watering completely dry 💚
I have a hard time with keeping Hoyas in soil. I have success with growing them in either leca or pon.
Great video :)
Thank you! ☺️
Love this!

I love all these I showed but I don't think you could go wrong with a hoya carnosa krimson princess or the krimson queen. They're both beautiful!

I am spending a fortune on dirt, replanting all my plants that need it this Spring!😢
One of my australlis lisa's started growing a reverted stem.....I cut if off but not sure if it will do it again.....yours is pretty :)
oh interesting! I didn't realize those reverted!
Hi! How often do you use the orchid mist on your Hoyas? I love your videos and plants!! 😍
I haven't used it in a while lol. I used to use it whenever I remembered but have fallen off track with it. Thank you!! 🥹

Hi I just got a polyneura cutting. How did u prop it. In water or perlite? I’m not sure how to do it. Thanks
Fred 😊

🥰🥰🥰
Can I use the seed from regal shield flower and repot them.
I'm not sure what you're asking exactly. I don't know much about alocasia seeds. I imagine you would propagate through division or through growing out corms.
What kind of spray are you using?
I mix some Castile soap and water together and sometimes I add neem to it. I use Dr. Bronner's for the soap.
You were using you Cat voice on the Goose 😂
lol yes
So clearly you need to buy some new small plants for your 4 inch pots 😀
hahah yes or just start propagating more lol
I love ❤️ your Hoyas especially your polyneura. I’m on the lookout for one now after seeing it on your channel! 🥰
I love it so much! Definitely get one if you come across it!
CAN I just say, YOU are sooo beautiful! (don't worry I'm gay as christmas and not hitting on you) just had to tell you!
Thanks for the videos, as always
Thank you so much! That's very kind of you :)
